Norland Inn & Suites Roseau

Great stay at the Norland. The bathrooms look to be newly renovated, clean and bright. My kids enjoyed the pool. The employees were so friendly! We will definitely be back next time we are in Roseau.

DO NOT STAY HERE. The manager has no business being a manager of a hotel. She is RUDE, HATEFUL, and does NOT care about the guest. We have been told this not only by other guest but by employees as well. We are in a room that has not been remodeled. The mattresses are so broken down that the springs constantly poke you in the back. The water pressure in the shower is non existent. The view from our window is a mobile home park. Pictures posted of the dirty sheets. We were allowed 1 towel and we're told to throw it in the hallway and they would give more. I could go on and on but I think you get the idea. Then we were thrown out because we stood up for ourselves. We even cleaned our room after being thrown out. I told her that we cleaned our room with her response being "good for you". There was also an issue with my family that she did not approve of or want in HER motel. After being here for 3 days, this awful manager knocks at our door wanting us to pay $20 per day per dog. We were told we were in a room that has not been remodeled since we did have dogs. Keep in mind, this is supposed to be a pet friendly hotel. MY HUSBAND AND 3 YEAR OLD CHILD SPENT 2 HOURS PICKING UP DOG POOP ON OUR FIRST DAY HERE AND WERE TOLD BY OTHER GUEST THAT LIVE IN THIS HOTEL (with dogs)THAT THE MANAGER DID NOT CARE AND WAS ONLY HERE FOR A PAYCHECK. My husband's company is paying for this hotel. Worst experience with a hotel in my 44 years of existence. All other employees here have been great, but the manager needs a new profession NOT dealing with the public. Extremely disappointed in what could have been a great experience.

We were at the Vanderhoof Farmer's Market and realized our hotel was practically across the street! Very good location, and nice check-in staff. Rooms were clean and comfortable and quiet - basic, but had what we needed. The on-property restaurant was good - really large portions and it even had a salad bar!

We were traveling the North part of Minnesota and needed a place to stay. It was nice looking on the outside and the room was okay. They said they were renovating. We got a suite for "$50.00 off of the normal stay". We were more than pleased with the price. The room was not renovated, still had furniture and carpeting from 1970. The Bathroom WAS upgraded to a very nice walk in shower and was very pleasant. There was no hot water in the morning (0800). We were told that there was breakfast, it was not a hot breakfast, they had cold cereal and bread, a few donuts, milk, coffee, orange juice and apple juice. We were told it was under new management. I would hope that they would update this further. It was an okay stay.

This hotel is so dirty and the manager is awful. The place looks as if it has never been updated, the floors/carpets were grimy and dusty. My allergies were terrible in the room. There was mold all along the inside of the windows, the bathroom faucets were rusty and eroded, there were paint chips all over the walls, our refrigerator did not work and when replaced they brought us a dirty fridge with food and drink spills in the bottom, the ice bucket was scary but that didn't matter because the ice machine was broken anyway. One morning of our stay the staff accidently put out spoiled milk with breakfast. The front desk clerk who checked us in was not friendly, and the manager Julie was rude and condescending. I do not recommend this hotel. It's gross, don't do it.

Angie was AMAZING! From the time she answered the phone and made my reservations for my hotel stay. She understands what good customer service means. My overall stay was great, the beds are comfortable and clean. The water was a little colder than I like but it was refreshing. Thank you, Angie, You work hard and your boss should know that you don't find excellent service in today's world anymore. I will be back!

The staff are warm and inviting. Angie really makes you feel like you are home away from home, always greeting with a smile and awesome cookies. I wouldn't stay anywhere else, Thank you North Country inn and Suites, and especially a big thank you to Angie 3pm-11pm shift.

The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Angie the host was very friendly, helpful, and hospitable. I would like to stay here again if I ever have to come back to Roseau. Once again 5 stars!!!
