The room was clean and tidy, the tree was shaded outside the window, the environment was beautiful, there were several set menu options for breakfast, the chef made it now, other coffee, tea, bread and fruit buffet.

We often stay at Travelodge but have rarely found one that feels like a true old-fashioned hotel with atmosphere rather than just a convenient (and forgettable) place to stay off the highway. This one, however, exceeded our expectations with its charm and historic ambiance. The rooms seem to be varying sizes. Our room was spacious and quiet. The location was excellent—right across from a wooded area / park with walking trails and within 10 minutes walk to shops and restaurants. The staff were welcoming and helpful. There is paid parking but it is reasonable at £5. There is some free parking across from the hotel on the street but it's often full and you can only park there two hours during the day. Some people have pointed out that the floors creak. That's because the floorboards are made of wood. That's how all floors used to be. There's probably not much they can do about it. It's a listed building over 150 years old. My only negative point is the dinner we had here which wasn't anything to write home about. But there are so many excellent restaurants in Tunbridge Wells that you're better off going out. If you walk down to the high street and turn right and walk down a few streets towards Pantiles (past the station and continue downwards) there is an abundance of good restaurants. Or if you want something quick to have in your room, there is a BP about a 16- minute walk (3-4 min drive) where you can get the usual M&S items. This is not a luxury hotel, and it is not perfect, but If you like historic hotels I recommend booking a stay here.

I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel and I must say it was an excellent experience throughout. Clean spacious room with an incredibly comfortable bed which enabled us to have a great nights sleep. We ate in the bar lovely meal made all the better by the excellent service we received from Tom, he was attentive, friendly and made us feel really welcome. Would definitely recommend and will be returning.

Great find, very high quality rooms with good security etc The hotel serves great food and the inclusive breakfast is very good with wide choice. There is a large car park with electric charging points. The staff are very helpful and informative. The bar has a good range of beers and real ales etc

This is a manor hotel, and it looks pretty good from the outside. I still want to pick something wrong: First of all, it is the hygiene problem. Cobwebs can be seen everywhere, in the corner of the bathroom, on the walls of the room, and even in the menu of the food delivery. I can't understand such a thing appearing in a so-called high-end hotel. Inside; the waiter is still quite polite, but I called the front desk from the room to arrange the wake-up service for me the next day... but it was not done for me; the restaurant is said to belong to Fine Dining, from the perspective of the breakfast... Healthy, Do what I want for me with intentions, not sloppy; the hotel is equipped with a so-called clubhouse, including a separate gym, swimming pool, changing room (but no sauna, steam), the equipment is not perfect; in addition, there is a leisure The restaurant in the hotel can be used by the guests of the health center, but the selection of coffee beans is not good; the hotel's main building and the rooms are quite stuffy, airtight, and have no air conditioning. The ¥1670 twin room with two breakfasts is not very spacious, there is no small refrigerator, the sound insulation is poor, and the walk outside the doorway can be heard clearly... and it is shocking; there are actually two English-style billiard tables downstairs in the restaurant of the main building for guests. Play, that's the only big highlight. You have to check out at 11 o'clock, which can be delayed for an hour, and then you need to charge 50 pounds, but it does not say how long this charge will last.

Wonderful 3 night stay with my grandson. We were visiting family. Even though it was over the new year celebrations, we had a good night's sleep and enjoyed the pool. Lovely friendly staff, which was very welcoming. Even my 6 Yr old grandson commented how nice the hotel was. Sally in the restaurant at breakfast was very welcoming, especially. Reception was very helpful too, even when popping a missing towel, etc, up to our room personally.
