Stay away at all costs I had a confirmed reservation. I was fully charged before my arrival. when I was about to check out, the hotel manager demanded full payment again. I showed him my reservation and the charge on my credit card but he claimed that their hotel does not have any affiliation with *********, *********** or Agoda. I called *********** and a representative sent the receipt to the hotel but the hotel manager insisted that he must charge my credit card for the full payment again. The representative from booking.con tried repeatedly to call the Hotel but the front desk did not respond their phone and they were saying their phone was out of order. so they double charged me and did not talk to the representative from ***********. This hotel is running a scam stay away from them at all costs.

This is a 3 star hotel but it does that to a really good standard. The staff in particular were incredibly friendly, working hard to give us a great stay. The views of lake Kivu from our cabins and the little beach were lovely. Gorgeous birdlife too. Both dinner and breakfast were nice (the kids particularly enjoyed the pancakes). A very relaxing and refreshing stay.

What a beautiful venue to spend a few days! The view of the lake and surrounding nature, endless birdsong, the hosts' warm welcome and attention to detail all make this a most comfortable base from which to explore the area further. There is also a gorgeous little island you can reach by boat...

This is a lovely lodge along the shores of Lake Kivu. If you're looking for nightlife then you should go somewhere closer to Gisenyi. But if you seek a place to relax with delicious fish on the menu from Lake Kivu, a private beach, and a fire in the lodge in the evening to take the chill off, then this is the place. The staff were wonderful. Try the cheese nan which is luscious.

What a great place to relax! Great views of the lake and I can’t even count how many different birds came to our room/the balcony while we were having a beer and looking out onto the lake. Really good place to stay and even can set off on a boat trip from in front of the hotel.

After looking at reviews online we decided to book this hotel through a booking site. Positive opinion on the beautiful room where there is the reception and the restaurant, all in wood with a beautiful view of the lake. Very well decorated rooms with African fabric and pleasant terrace. Good bedding. Excellent dinner with grilled lake fish and small fry as an aperitif, Sambavas offered by the house. Very good boat trip. Staff apart from the manager, very kind and smiling. Be careful, small beds are only 1.8 m long so not suitable for teenagers. Negative opinion: the manager made us pay more than what we had reserved with the site because supposedly the reservation he had received did not correspond to the one we had made. Impossible to reach an agreement with him. View of the ugly methane extraction plant, engine noise in the morning from a mobile platform, very noisy birds and noise from the road above in the background in the morning. So not great value for money. Too bad because the hotel building and the meals are very beautiful and good. Very average breakfast: everything was cold (eggs, toast, etc.) only the squeezed fruit juice was very good.

I reserved three rooms at this hotel on ********** for an upcoming trip in April. I was excited to stay, as the pictures looked beautiful. After booking the third room, however, the hotel staff reached out saying I needed to pay $56 more in order to keep the reservation, as they were in the process of changing their rates when I booked the third room. I checked back on **********, and the rates were actually LESS expensive than when I booked. When I asked them why this was, I got a message from ********** saying that all three reservations were canceled at my request. So be wary booking at this hotel.
