Hotel in lovely old building in central Rufina. It would be helpful if they told you reception is not manned then you would know when you turn up and wonder where everyone is, that you need to ring them so that someone will come over. At the moment the building is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues as there are a lot of stairs and no lift, however they are in the process of installing a lift so hopefully this will be done soon, and in the meantime they do help you carry your luggage up. Our room (4?) overlooked the main road and town hall, it was cold in September until we discovered how to put the heating on. Interior is dated, could do with modernising and installing a power shower. I was unable to wash in hot water in the sink, the duration of our stay, I don’t know if this is because they only put the hot water on for a brief period but clearly it’s not pleasant having to wash in cold water. Bed was a good sized double. Lovely little dining area you could go and sit in and the addition of a communal fridge was nice to put any milk, food etc in. If we stayed here again we would ask for our room not to be cleaned each day as on Sunday morning at 10am we were awoken by insistent knocking on the door to clean it which we didn’t appreciate. A nice touch is giving you vouchers for 20% off the café a few doors down, which enabled us to have a cheap breakfast each morning. We would stay here again.
