Finfoot Lake Reserve by Dream Resorts

Very close to Johannesburg. Very good value. Good activities. Food was average but tasty. Staff are hardworking and attentive. The manageress however is awful and she treats staff and guests very badly. The Spa was great. Megan the game ranger was excellent. All in all a good experience and a good family get away

This is a really nice reasonably priced getaway with lots of activities that are extra. The Spa, Segways, Clay Pigeon Shooting and Boat Tours were all great. The staff are really good and attentive. The manageress of the place however is not a nice lady screaming at staff and guests alike. Dream Resorts should take action against her as they have a great product.

This venue is ideal for corporate retreats. The food is excellent, offering a variety of delicious options that cater to all tastes. The lodge in general is good. The Game rangers and reception lady were helpful and friendly, The Bar Lady with the Dreadlock Hair is very rude and not friendly. When we booked there was said that there should be enough wood for the first night. When we arrived at Villa 1 there was a small pile of wood that wouldn't even be enough to warm up a Vienna. We then went and bought 3 bags of wood to only find that they gave us 1 small piece of fire lighters for the first night. We then made use of grass and small branches to start the fire. They gave us a small amount of very cheap dishwashing liquid to wash our dishes the next morning. We were 8 people and there was just only enough plates and cutlery for us, so we had to wash our dishes. We then cleaned the dishes because the cleaning team only arrived at 10h00 and we had to eat breakfast. There was a dishwasher with only 1 dishwashing tablet and the machine didn't work properly. We then went on the Segway and the 2 ladies went for the Spa Treatments which was good and fun, but the spa was expensive for what they got compared to another spa's that we went to. We then all went on the boat cruise that was supposed to be 2 hours but because other guests were late from their Segway trip, we were delayed by 30 minutes and had to wait for them. The cruise was supposed to start at 16h00 until 18h00 but we only left the lodge on the game drive trucks at 16h25. The cruise was fun and relaxing except for the massive amount of Hyacinth on the dam. We then docked back at 18h00 so we missed out on around 30 minutes of cruising due to other people being late that wasn't even part of our group. We then asked for 2 bags of wood for the night to braai and again started the fire without any firelighters but then bought a packet at the reception area and asked for another 3 to 4 bags to only be told they don't have more wood available they only have one bag left, REALLY we are in the bush and need a fire because it was cold and wanted a fire to warm up. What lodge like this don't have enough wood???? NOT GOOD We paid over R10 000.00 for the accommodation and another almost R7000.00 on the activities, don't you think they can atleast give us enough fire lighters to start a fire with or atleast 2 blocks for every night that we booked??? We paid the same amount for both nights it wasn't a case that we paid less for one of the nights therefor we can't get enough wood or fire lighters. It would’ve been better if they then rather left everything and said listen you sell wood and firelighters at reception, we must make sure to buy enough and then have ENOUGH wood to buy. I will not visit this lodge or any of DREAM resorts again and would surely not recommend them to anybody again because the price that we paid and what we got was just not acceptable. It probably makes sense when you speak to the rangers on the lodge why they are only working there for very short period of times. Apparently, there is 3 people leavin

A fantastic stay at Finfoot! Great location, very relaxing. We had a luxurious tent, very well presented and furnished. The staff is very friendly. The activities proposed are great and varied. We were sad to go, but we shall be back. Thank you

Amazingly beautiful welcoming place. Had a very lovely experience at Finfoot lake reserve. The staff are friendly, professional, and always eager to help out the guests. The place is quiet, clean and eco-friendly. The thatched lapa are beautiful and spacious. There is a lot of privacy, the Lapas are not close by hence you can enjoy yourselves without worrying about your neighbors. If you are a nature person Finfoot must be on top of your list. Every activity was done on time and the staff are kind enough to remind your of your schedule and willing to reschedule if there are any issues. The cleaning ladies do their work without disturbing the guests. Animals roam freely around lapas and you can see them literally from you window. Thank you Finfoot for you amazing hospitality.

We received excellent service from the moment we arrived until we left. The staff are all very professional and friendly. Our unit was very clean and comfortable. Every meal was delicious. It would help if guests could be advised in advance of the hyacinth on the dam to avoid disappointment if planning to fish. Either than that, we had an awesome stay.

We had a wonderful experience. Very attentive rangers, well organized with daily scheduled activities for kids and adults. My daughters (10 ,8yrs) had a fantastic time collecting stickers for all activities available so they can win the prizes. Our chalet was clean, cozy and serviced twice a day. We booked with breakfast and dinner daily and ordered lunch from the restaurant which was reasonable. The chalet had a small bar fridge. The food is really tasty, and you burn all the calories during the planned activities;). Lots of animals to see in game drives, bush walks, segway safari tour and canoeing. Rangers are knowledgeable, fun and provide snacks during all the activities. We checked in over the weekend, it was busy with other families and children. We checked out mid-week and it was sooo peaceful. We were the only family with children remaining. Highly recommended!!!

For some R&R outside of the city this is the perfect place. the guides are excellent and reserve staff is very helpful and made our stay just that extra special. There are lots of activities for the young and “old”.The rooms are very neat comfy and cleaned daily.this is Definetly a good break for families with young kids or for a trip with friends.
