We enjoyed a short 2 day stay at Mziki. The lodge is rebuilt and gardens need to be established but that did not detract from a lovely homely stay. Would definitely recommend for families with kids

The people was very friendly and knowledgeable of the animals. The trip was for our anniversary and the staff made it extra special with desert and then the flowers in the room

Die Zimmer der Mziki Lodge sind in einzelnen Bungalows untergebracht. Sie sind geschmackvoll rustikal/modern eingerichtet und ausgesprochen geräumig. Das Bad ist ebenfalls recht groß und hat eine schöne moderne Dusche. Die Kingsize-Betten sind wahnsinnig bequem. Alles ist sehr sauber. Das Essen war ausgesprochen lecker und oft besser als in den 5 Sterne Lodges, die wir auf unserer Reise besucht hatten. Die Lodge hat einen großen Pool, der sehr gut gepflegt ist und zum Schwimmen einlädt. Es ist auch ein netter Spielplatz vorhanden und man kann z.B. Bogenschießen. Die Game Drives waren sehr entspannend, wir haben mehr unterschiedliche Antilopenarten gesehen als in Madikwe und Pilanesberg Game Reserve. Wir haben auch Rhinozerosse, Strauße, Giraffen, Büffel und Elefanten gesehen. Im Rückblick hatten wir hier mehr Tiersichtungen als in Madikwe und Pilanesberg, wo bei den Game Drives ständig versucht wird Löwen und Leoparden zu finden und man z.T. "sinnlos" im Gelände herumfährt, anstatt zu genießen was man einfach so zu sehen bekommt. Unser Fahrer hat auch viel Informatives zu den Tieren und Pflanzen erzählt. Wir haben hier wunderschöne, entspannende Tage verbracht.

Manuela and the team at Mziki Safari Lodge were phenomenal. My wife and I included Mziki Safari Lodge into our itinerary because we wanted relaxed game drives without the hustle and bustle of certain game drives at larger national parks. Although we would later do a national park Safari later in our trip, it made us appreciate our experience at Mziki even more. All the park rangers and guides and Mziki and extremely knowledgeable and intimately familiar with the wildlife on the reserve. Our guide/park ranger, Devon, was very friendly and welcomed the opportunity to share unique insights on wildlife behavior, tracking, and other aspects of animals on the reserve. We really enjoyed the pace, hospitality, and overall experience at Mziki Lodge. It proved to be one of our favorite parts of a three week trip to Africa. We want to send a big thank you to Manuela, Devon, and the entire staff at Mziki who made our stay very enjoyable—we look forward to coming back during future trips to Africa!

We had a pleasant stay at the lodge, and appreciated the newly renovated rooms which provided a comfortable and modern experience. However, it would enhance the experience if the suite rooms included the option for a private game drive. Additionally, we suggest that the entire restaurant area be declared a non-smoking zone to ensure a more enjoyable dining experience for all guests.

struggled to find the entrance but once in it was just gorgeous, the safaris were very informative and we got close up to many animals. the food was lovely and eating in a tented dining room made it feel that we were really on safari. lodges are beautiful, fab bathrooms and very comfy beds, the staff were so helpful and attentive can't wait to return

What an experience from start to finish. The lodge was immaculate, authentic and cosy and the food was wholesome and tasty, the best we’ve had on our travels - compliments to the chef! Zola we send massive thanks to you for unbelievable game drives, our quest to find Edie was a success and such an incredible experience. It was great to learn so much about her and the collaboration between different projects and the reserve. Thank you Manuela for this unforgettable experience, you and your family have created something magical!

We stayed in one of the new family suites. There are two very large rooms divided by the bathroom, which also boasts an outdoor shower. The veranda overlooks the range and animals can be seen every morning and evening from the room. Very clean, and well appointed. As I use a wheelchair we needed a small ramp, which was prepared in advance by the team. Nearly every facility was accessible and the range drive as well as I could sit in the front seat. Perfect. We saw all the animals we expected to see, including Eddie who was just about to be released. Our ranger Zola was fantastic! VERY COOL. It's a no-frills place, but it feels like your own home and very private. We were with our 4 year old who absolutely loved it and was able to go on all the game drives. We will be back some day to enjoy the new facilities being renovated!

Small and quiet safari lodge just two hours from Johannesburg. The accommodation was excellent, a large two bedroom suite, one of the new ones, which would be perfect for a family. The rooms are well spread out making the atmosphere very relaxed. Meals are served on the lawn or in the boma and are fairly basic but good quality and vary with each meal. Morning and afternoon game drives are excellent with the vehicles providing great viewing and they tend to spread out the guests so they are not crowded, but the lodge was not particularly full. The guides, Devon and Zola were excellent and very knowledgeable about the animals of which we saw quite a few. Not all of the big five are in the park but there is still a good selection and enough variety so you can take all the drives offered. Overall a great experience and would be excellent for families.
