Our luggage was lost and the staff was so friendly to us helping in every way possible. They called restaurants for us our first night as our phones weren't working and it was late on a Saturday. They honestly cared about us and when our luggage finally arrived, they were as excited as us! They were very responsive via email prior to our stay and spoke great English. We had 2 rooms next to each other with a quiet , private little alcove to add privacy for when we frequently moved between rooms. This is directly across from one of the gondolas (we skied 3 days). We could easily walk to the restaurants, shops, and we did so quite often. They were super responsive picking us up from the bus stop too. We'd stay here again for sure.

Sehr gutes und schönes Hotel, gutes Preis/Leistungsverhältnis. Grosses Frühstücksbuffet und feines Abendessen. Ein Kompliment an die Küche und den aufmerksamen Service! Ich hatte ein frisch renoviertes Zimmer. Die Dusche ist zwar eher klein aber alles vorhanden. Weil kein Durchfahrtsverkehr, sehr ruhig gelegen. Die Bushaltestelle liegt vor dem Haus. Die geführten Wanderungen waren sehr gut vorbereitet und entsprachen meinen Erwartungen. Speziell ein Dankeschön an Dominic, auch für die vielen Infos zur Region und die tolle und der Gruppe angepasste Routenwahl! Wer Ruhe und Erholung im Saastal sucht, dem kann ich dieses Hotel bestens empfehlen! Dazu gibt's die Saastalcard, fast ein GA für alle Bergbahnen und das Postauto im Saastal.

I stayed at La Reserve for two nights during my hike from Chamonix to Zermatt (Walkers Haute Route). After more than a week of hiking and camping with my tent, this hotel provided food, rest and comfort, before I would take off for the final hike to Zermatt. The hotel is directly on the hiking route, just out of the village center. The owner was very helpful when I wanted to reschedule my stay. I had booked for one night, but I was hiking faster than expected, so I arrived one day early. After a phone call the owner booked me another room where I could stay an extra night. When I left two days later, I asked for a very early breakfast (I wanted to hike as early as possible) and the owner made sure everything was there for me at 6:30 a.m. The food at the restaurant was delicious. I was very happy with the possibility of having a smaller pizza with a much larger salad, as I was craving for fresh vegetables. Breakfast was in serve-yourself style, with fresh bread, cheese, eggs, yoghurt. The building and room might be somewhat outdated in style, but everything was very clean and comfortable. And there was a very good private shower! All in all this was a very pleasant stay while hiking my 10 day hike in Switzerland.

It was okay, because it was cheap, so I didn’t expect too much. The location is just a minute's walk from the train station, which is very convenient. What is very surprising is that the TV is extremely rich in content. There are many Zermatt documentaries to watch, and you can also watch the weather forecast.

This is the 2nd hotel we have stayed in Switzerland and we stayed here for one night. The hotel is located about 5-7mins walk from Tasch train station and there are a few restaurants and a mini-supermarket around. The hotel's external view gives one a B&B impression but upon entering, it's a hotel setup! And I am not sure why the hotel receives such a poor rating which I felt it's decent and good. Our room is at 307 (corner room). First, the room though simple structure and layout is nice and cosy. Bed is comfortable and there's a balcony where you can enjoy nature, mountains, lakes and nice scenery over a cup of coffee (though it is a common walk link with all the rooms next door). The TV has many channels and there's a TV channel guide which is good or you will need to spend time in searching for the channels you like to watch. The toilet is nice and got bathtub. The restaurant is nice and cosy and the breakfast spread is satisfactory. Foods were nice too. Service staff were friendly. In terms of areas of improvement, do note that there's only one lift and a small one. So for all the members of our tourgroup to get into our rooms, if we want to take the lift with luggages, it will take a long time. So we only load our luggages in the lift while we walk up the winding stairs. For most of us, the walk is ok though a little inconveniced. And there's no kettle provided in the room and cannot cook even cup noodles for fear in triggering the fire alarm which will fetch a 500 euros fine! The boss, Mr Chon, was very friendly and hospitable. He greeted all of us and even served us. When we left the hotel, he even boarded our coach personally and bid us goodbye! (he even brought the two of us around the entire hotel ground, including the buidling next door that is under renovation in improving it's facilities like constructing the spa, game room etc) Overall, our stay here was satisfactory and pleasant though there are hits and misses but I dont think it deserves a 1 or 2-star rating. It deserves a solid 3-star rating as rightfully awarded to it.

Before arriving by train the hotel sent us an email with details for their shuttle service to pick us up. The hotel is 5 mins away from the train station. It’s actually walking distance to everything. They kept our bags till check-in and we ate at their Dude restaurant which had good food. We used the pool, steam room and hot tub while awaiting to check in which was very relaxing after being on trains for 4 hrs. This hotel offers a lot especially if it rains and you have to be indoors. It has such a good vibe. You can sit and read in the hotel reception area as well and many outdoor seating in the sunshine. It felt very relaxed at the Alpen resort. I would definitely come back here again.

Very cozy and clean, the staff checked our covid certificates and immediately accommodated us in our rooms. Breakfast was included in our price, we were asked what we wanted to have (croissant, bread, coffee order and ham/cheese) the previous day. I want to believe it was due to corona restrictions that they did not include these on the breakfast buffet, because one thin slice of bread was not sufficient; although we got a second serving when we asked. The rooms were warm, clean and all in all, a very decent option for the otherwise ”overpriced” Zermatt.
