My girlfriend and I stayed here for two nights and couldn’t have had a better time. Dawn met both of us separately as we arrived and helped us bring everything to our room. We had a very cute room. Every room is decorated differently and very interesting decor. Dawn was very helpful recommending places to go. She cooked us breakfast pancakes she made with our names on them. So cute and thoughtful. This hotel is charming and located in the middle of everything you want to do within walking distance. I recommend staying here when visiting St. Augustine.

The pictures on the website are misleading. When we checked in, the lady on duty was in a hurry as she said, “ can we get you checked in so I can get back to my movie!” If we knew we had to climb a flight of stairs while carrying heavy luggage, we would not have reserved. I understand it is an older home turned into a B & B, however, the bathrooms were not the best; the mattress was lumpy so not a good night’s sleep. The smell of people cooking their meal was a little overwhelming. I would not stay here again or recommend it. I would give it a 2 and that’s being generous.

I woke up bored one day and decided a surprise pirate trip to St. Augustine was exactly what my boys needed. I searched on Airbnb for a cheap B&B in St. Augustine & landed on the pirate haus inn. I Google searched and found the hotel website listed even cheaper rates. I called the hotel, spoke with Jenny and she was so genuine and humble I just had to book it. I added two pirate costumes to my Amazon cart and packed our bags! Jenny was so accommodating! I needed a playpen for the baby and it was in the room on arrival. Pancakes were delicious. Location location location! This little gem is right in the heart of historic St. Augustine. My son is already begging to go back. We will be back! Thank you so very much, Jenny! I will forever treasure the family memories!!!!!

My wife, our 8-year-old, and our 4-month-old booked this as a last-minute trip for spring break. We were not super excited about staying in a B&B with an infant but figured our 8yo would like it. Captain Hans (aka Jamie) made us feel right at home. The pancakes were great and the Captain even spent time playing cards and watching movies with our daughter when it rained and we couldn't make the 1 block trek over to St. George Street. If you're looking for a typical hotel, this isn't it. If you're looking to make memories with your kids... look no further.

My Senior wife, along with Senior me and our adult son, wanted to stay in the Historical distract, and in a place we would remember. We won when we booked the Pirate Haus. It is possibly the most unique place in the District, And it is definitely not for people who want a modern hotel atmosphere and amenities. It is old and still has a hostel charm to it. They tell you right off that it's not to everybody's taste. But it sure was to ours, for our brief stay. We rented the Captain's Quarters with its 3 sets of bunk beds and a Giant King bed. The room was very old and had a pirate theme painted on the walls. The room had its own old bathroom with a shower and bathtub. We also had a minifridge and excellent wifi. And, as advertised, no tv in the room. But there is a shared one in the building. There is a nice kitchen everybody can use, and a free pancake breakfast occurs every morning. The manager is a real plus, as are the volunteer staff who work part time for room and some board. Julie and Adam who man the kitchen are super friendly and make you feel welcome and right at home. No, it's not fancy. And, it's not supposed to be. But it was perfect for us. If we return to St Augustine again, there's no doubt where you would find us!

This pirate’s refuge could not be more inviting and entertaining unless sprinkled with Disney magic. Captain Hans (manager Jamie), Julie, Adam & Carlos welcomed us to this colorful oasis on the second floor of a quiet Inn just one block from the harbor in the heart of historic district. From the moment you start up the steps your eye catches pirate related artistic embellishments. We stayed 2 nights and slept soundly in the Map room. Being world travelers it was fun to go on a search for treasure in our room, enjoying reading the clues and maps. We found the gold! A highlight of each day was our conversations in the kitchen with Captain Hans as she created the most delicious and artistic pancakes.

Fun place with the nautical decor. More for families with young children than adults, but we made out well Do not expect luxury, but the place is more than adequate for several nights. Excellent location for exploring historic St. Augustine by foot. Hans, the lady in charge is great to deal with and more than helpful, and does excellent pancakes and coffee.

The Pirate Haus is our go-to place to stay in St. Augustine. If you want to relive the hosteling days of your youth with child, this is your place. Mostly I just appreciate how kind and on the ball the owner (Jenny) and manager (Hans) are. That makes all the difference. Our six year old goes down the hall to the living room with pirate toys and plays for ages while we rest. This place is incredibly convenient for exploring the historic district. We’ve stayed twice and once parked in garage (free but 8-10 minute walk) and left the car and once parked behind the building (per day charge and only four spots) and left the car because we drove up from Orlando. If you are planning to use your car a lot then garage is somewhat inconvenient but if your goal is to stash it for strolling everywhere then both options are great and you can still pull over and unload in front of inn. We will keep staying here for the foreseeable future. Being downtown you do get some street noise from buskers playing music and people in hall can be heard, but generally people are respectful.
