The room was adequate and the bed comfortable, the shower hose was dirty. The evening meal was very good. There was no cooked breakfast available just a breakfast which had to be eaten on the bed in the bedroom. There was either rice crispies or corn flakes, with a dry bun wrapped in sellophane, and a yoghurt. There was also dry oats in a tub which had to have boilng water added. I did not try this. The walls are very thin and I could eat the full conversation of the next door room. There seemed to be no staff in the inn overnight.

Room was very clean but staircase is very steep without a handrail., (it is a very old pub/cottage).
The pain au chocolate was out of date. We did take this back to the lady behind the bar but it was not replaced.
The room was not en-suite but there was a lovely large toilet/bathroom opposite the bedroom which we were told was for our private use.
Shower gels, body lotions were provided which was nice.
To sum up, I think it should be clear that they don't do a full english breakfast, & that it may be unsuitable for people with difficulty climbing stairs.

an old England inn (....proletarian): old-fashioned environment in the furnishings and structures above a pub (where you probably eat well, but not experienced). Characteristic where commitment and taste are evident to make it more welcoming, albeit low cost - Breakfast in the room understood as self-service, with a fair amount of pre-packaged items and a small fridge for milk, butter, cheese, juice, etc. Our room had a private bathroom but external/facing the room, friends had a small bathroom in the room Overall experience adequate for the price paid, plus "authentic" (if you are looking for standard confort from big chains it is not adequate).

Room was over the pub with too much noise. Door to the room was less than 6" height and sefinitely safety hazard
Included breakfast should be labelled as packed and prelaid in-room contintental breakfast.
However host / staff was kind n helpful.

Quite an unusual place. It is a old pub with several rooms upstairs. We arrived just after the owner arrived late afternoon. We were shown to the room # 1 and it was very cold and unwelcoming. Plugged in the little portable heater which did not provide much warmth. The bed was probably the most uncomfortable bed I have slept in and seriously needs to be replaced as it is like sleeping in a hammock. The place does not appear to have any fire exits do would be a fire trap. Staff were fine. If there are no other places available you could consider staying here but don't expect a great night's sleep.

You get what you pay for. Was fine to lay your head but the bathroom was very cold but certainly makes you up in the morning.

check in was supposed to be from 3.pm there was nobody there until 4pm there was also no food available on the tues night. Despite that the staff were very good and we enjoyed a meal on the wed night. the only negative was the bed was very uncomfortable it had been mentioned before by others.

We had a great time. The staff couldn’t have been nicer. Nothing was too much trouble.
Food is second to none. If you like big portions, this is for you. Great friendly atmosphere. We will visit again.
