The Hotel Carlton (and Beaulieu-sur-Mer) was a fantastic place to make base for a week on the Côte d’Azur. First of all, the location is convenient. It is a quick (25ish minute, €25-30) Uber from the airport. The hotel is a quick walk to the train station, making most of the sights of the Riviera very accessible and cheap. There are lots of decent to very good restaurants and easy walk away as well. The beach was also good for sunbathing and a quick swim, only about two minutes away on foot. The front desk gave a warm welcome and they were exceptionally kind and helpful before and during the stay. I cannot say enough about their professionalism and kindness. Despite being a smaller hotel outside of the larger towns, I would recommend it to anyone regardless of their level of French or familiarity with the area. The entire facility gives a very upscale air, especially in comparison to other four star hotels I looked at in nearby towns and stayed at in Nice. Not to mention, the price is incredibly fair for the quality. Drinks at the bar on some nights were very nice, as the hotel is quiet, and the breakfast was delicious each morning and normally very well enjoyed on the terrace. The pool was also very comfortable and peaceful with new loungers and it was slightly heated as a huge bonus. The rooms themselves are very clean, very comfortable, and, again, have a very upscale feel. The air conditioning works well, a necessity for us from the southern US, and the beds were also very comfortable. The window in my room featured an electric, rolling metal blackout apparatus that made sleeping in one day almost too easy! Room service was not obtrusive and did a fantastic job every day. Overall, this small boutique hotel gave a truly boutique experience, sophisticated and relaxing. I would and will recommend this hotel and Beaulieu to anyone visiting the area, even as a suitable alternative to basing your trip out of Nice, where we did spend a fair amount of time. The pace and vibes were exactly what I wanted out of my vacation.

Very pleasant stay in excellent location, right by the sea and close to nice restaurants. The breakfast is also excellent , overlooking the port, if you have not selected a sea-view room. Staff was very nice, starting with being very helpful when making the reservation. It is a three star hotel and a very good choice in that category. There is a pool for the warmer months! My main criteria for a hotel is if I would like to return, and that is definitely the case here.

The room in the middle of a family garden is correct ... even if not really fresh ... but too expensive for the service ! The hotel is very comfortable and very comfortable. Note a big less: a corner decoration plate, broken on a wall in the outer stairs that everyone must borrow! With a very bright spot that strongly exceeds: in the night, without lighting did not miss when he dropped from this wall side to hurt my wife at the tail ... it was impossible that the direction did not know this problem! The bathroom partition in the room is very poor, the shower bathroom is full of water, the four-star hotel only provides paper cups, it is easy to rot the store, and it will not help to change the initiative overnight, the bathroom hair dryer is very old and faulty. The water output of the shower head is very small. The quality of the bed is medium. The breakfast quality is medium, probably only Samsung. I had to iron my shirt in the morning because I had to attend an important occasion, that is, I chose this hotel because I saw that the hotel had this service. When I arrived at the ironing room, none of the two irons could be used. At that time, it was about 8:00. I responded to the hotel about this matter and said that I needed to go out to attend important occasions at 10:00. They said they would deal with it and notify me. At about 8:40, I will ask again. The counter told me that the repair staff would not come until 9:00, and said they would call me again. When I waited until 9:30, there was no audio. I called the counter again. They said that they would reply to my situation in 2 minutes. The result was not returned. I called back again. This time it was more exaggerated and I didn't answer my phone at all. It didn't answer until 9:45. I rushed downstairs to prepare my shirt, and it was fine, and when it went down, an iron with a large rusty print was printed directly on my white shirt, and ruined my whole shirt, for there was no time, and I could only go to the hotel counter and tell them to tell me before I came back What they were going to do about it, and after I came back in the evening, there was no audio, as if there was nothing at all. I just took my shirt and asked them to deal with it. If it was something I would not claim. The next morning, when I went to get the shirt, they washed the shirt, but the obvious print was still on it, the counter told me that it was 15 euros to wash one, not my money. When I heard it, I was really mad. Did you figure out the situation? Is it their hotel iron that broke my shirt, making me look like a Okee who asked someone to do my laundry for free? The counter also told me that they had changed the iron in the last two weeks. Although they could not be verified, it was really outrageous. I came to see that iron later, and it was not like it had only been used for two weeks. Finally, after the counter manager came out, I was willing to compensate my shirt for 40 euros. Because the shirt itself had been depreciated, I didn't pursue it again, otherwise it was not only this value. The overall service feels very poor, the equipment is also very backward, and I will never stay again.

We have had an amazing stay. The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. I was contacted a couple of days prior to our stay, because there was an issue with the payment. This mistake was completely my fault, but the hotel was very helpful and nice and we solved it in the end. When we arrived we were so fortunate to have been upgraded, despite the hassle I brought to the hotel, with the payment error. The room was amazing, and clean, and when we checked out we received a little parting gift of lavender in a pouch. The hotel is very centrally located, and I would definitely visit again! Hotel -Layout was not welcoming/ inviting as the front doors leads to a hallway & the reception desk is up 3steps before you are greeted by someone. This makes carrying luggage difficult. - Storing luggage until the room was ready was fine. - Lift was small and can fit max 3people without luggage and was sometimes slow to come. - Would not rate as a 4 star hotel. Location - Approx. 15min walk from the promenade, which meant we were away from the noise. - 2mins away from the train station, which is ideal is travelling by train. - Area was OK, but not the best. Drinks - The complimentary drinks were tap water, lemonade (made from tap water), tea and coffee. If you dont drink tap water, there is no free alternative provided, with the reason given they are reducing use of plastic (bottled, glass water is avaiable to purchase). Room -We stayed in a classic room (208) which was compact. -They are definitely not soundproof & is dependent on the guests, as we could hear their conversations and when they were using the shower. -All the hotel doors make a loud bang when closed. -The room layout and space could have been utilised more effectively. E.g. 1/3 of the wardrobes were dumpy drawers. We had a chair but it was placed infront of the only long mirror in the room. -The charging ports were only accessible from one side of the bed, which can be challenging & annoying at times. - The room view was of the street and of the opposite building, which was not the nicest. Breakfast -We would advise you to think twice before booking breakfast. -Breakfast selection is very small - neatly presented in the corner of the room. -Minimal vegetarian and vegan optipns - which is not worth the money they ask - with the reason given France is not accomodating to vegetarian food. One gluten free option. -Fresh orange juice and breads were delicious. -There were 2 choices of fresh fruit (apple & kiwi) neither of which looked appealing. -No salad options. -Staff did not clear the tables as you were eating. -If all the guests were to be in the room at the same time, it would be very cramped, noisy and cause queuing. Staff -Half were friendly, polite and welcoming. The other half were not and would not acknowledge you upon entering or leaving the hotel. -When we were checking out, we were not offered support with our luggage down the steps, instead a hotel guest offered to help us! Also, the staff member did not finish with out checking out and had already started serving the guest behind us. -When making enqueries, staff were helpful and tried their best, with clear instructions. -An item was requested, which was not available. We were reassured this item would be sent to our room the next morning, but alas this did not happen.

We stayed for two nights at the start of our holiday, on arrival we were greated very warmly by the reception staff.....our room wasn't ready so we decided to get a bite to eat in the restaurant......the service was very poor and we had to ask several times if we could order and then to chase the order.....I think they were busy setting up for dinner.....once finished our room was ready, we stayed in The Apartment which has a beautiful view over the Rose Garden and further on to the sea....the room is simply stunning and perfect for our family of 4. There was again a delay in getting our luggage to the room and we had to call down a couple of times for it. Breakfast was OK.....they seem to be short staffed as there was no one to tell us how to order but they all seem to be working very hard. The pool area is lovely, shared with the apartments next door but with ample sun loungers as the life guard removes any towels that are on sun loungers not being used, this led to several arguments we witnessed whilst there. One note of thanks goes to the concierge as on departure we asked for a taxi to the train station, there seems to be a huge shortage of taxis around Monaco and after a short wait he very kindly gave us a lift there in the hotels mini van which was very much apprecaited. All in all a wonderfull stay and would receommend this hotel to all....

Our stay was at the end of July ,and we had a two night stay. We had two sea view rooms, with lovely views ,the rooms being clean and very comfortable. Staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. We ate in the bar and also at the Horizon Rooftop, where we had both breakfast and lunch. The breakfast is excellent, so much choice plus a chef for eggs of your choice etc. The lunch buffet is also excellent , and complimentary bottled water included. We took a trip to the beach - you get transported in a buggy so no walking , and we enjoyed our morning there - you will be allocated to The Fairmonts beds rather than choosing your position, but theses beds are complimentary. The toilet , lockers and shower facilities here are very good. We also used the pool (Nikki Beach). Again the Fairmont guests have an area of complimentary sun beds - not the large day beds directly by the pool, but for us that wasn’t a problem as ours were a little quieter. We did have a 6 year old with us and we had fun in the pool - he was the only child there though! The Fairmont is not cheap - everything is expensive…..but that is what we expected from Monte Carlo. It is in an excellent position, has a fantastic view over the hairpin, staff brilliant, food and drinks top notch, and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

Top hotel. Upgrade offered because the offer described on Trip.com was false. The offer is a superior room of 44m2 and arrived at the hotel this type of room does not exist. At the reception he offered us an upgrade to a superior room with sea view. Spacious, clean hotel, awesome top service bedding. I will definitely stay there again.
