We tried the AC Mpls West End visiting family in the area. We really appreciated the convenient location, clean and minimal room, and a place to charge our electric car. Things underwhelmed or disappointed included: no housekeeping for three nights. We were not told this, and when i checked in online i asked for it. And then we found they only do it every other day, but only if you spend four nights. Aggravating. Front desk isn’t mentioning it. These hidden fees and cost increases irritate me.Second, there was never anyone standing at the front desk whenever i came by for help. Once i stood there for about a minute someone came out from the back office. Third, the premium wifi didn’t work our entire stay. i was told it was being fixed. Fourth, their rooftop bar was great, I think. Every time we went up there it was packed with locals. And they didn’t actually have a bar in the main lobby as advertised. They said it would be “opening soon” in the future. Do I believe them? Finally, at around 9PM there was a hotel employee standing in the lobby speaking very angrily into his mobile phone on what appeared to be a personal call. He used extremely foul and offensive language. Since there was no one working the front desk there was no one to stop him. People in the lobby were visibly uncomfortable with his behavior. He eventually left. all in all a solid stay that met the need. But we didn’t leave fans. We’ll keep looking the next time we’re in town visiting family.
