We travel to St Malo often and this was by far the best hotel stay we have had. There were 7 couples traveling and we enjoyed the bar area where we could congregate during the day We love the central location as we could all wander off as we felt like as all was so accessible . The room was great and bed very comfortable , great pillows which are a must for me

Perfect location with a secure parking garage right outside. The young man who checked us in was brilliant and very helpful, it’s a shame all the reception staff weren’t the same! The room was very comfortable great bed, great shower although the toilet feels like you’re cocooned on a high throne! And the bathroom door whose design idea was that? Whenever one of us visited the loo in the night the room was lit up due to the opaque door! The water and Nespresso machine was a nice touch would’ve been even better with milk. This hotel is good because of its location to everything but anywhere else it would be on the lower scale of average.

Clean, welcoming, comfortable. Staff is exceptionally helpful. Beds were new and firm. Breakfast is lovely with plenty of choices. We also enjoyed the bar on sight. This hotel is located right in the old town and just steps from the ramparts.

Terrible hotel, especially service, stay away! We came here for a honeymoon stay. We mistakenly mixed up our dates and asked front desk to accommodate our mistake. the manager didn’t even give courtesy to call us even when we left contact, refuse to listen our request to shift in dates, even though there were plenty rooms, and tried to charge us again for the room. Then When we checked in, the curtain had a dead fly, the WiFi didn’t work at all (no compensation for this), and the shower drain wad clogged. Outright abhorrent hotel and experience. Don’t ever book here again.

I'm giving three stars, since I can imagine worse experiences, but three stars really feels generous. I booked Le Grand Be based on location, ability to get a parking spot, AC/elevator, and reviews. We arrived having not received any information on where or how to park. Saint Malo is a walled city with lots of tourists. Nowhere to pull over to figure things out. We got to the hotel and had NO idea where to put the car, nor was there anywhere obvious to unload. I had to drive around the block (takes way longer than you would think), drop off my son and get him to ask for help. A very nice front desk staffer came out to help with bags and told us where to park. I had reserved outdoor parking because they told me that would be easier to park in than indoor. I did not see the indoor, but let me tell you I hope they were wrong. You try backing into a spot surrounded by pedestrians, with parked cars immediately across from your spot, on a narrow street. It was harrowing. You also had to be very precise due to the metal blockers on the ground. Once inside, a different staffer checked me in. She said she needed my card for a (LARGE, more than my total stay) deposit, and I handed it over. Immediately, it became clear something was wrong. She did not attempt to explain, but called someone else over who was equally confused. It was clear to me that they had actually charged my card instead of using it for a deposit. When I asked, she confirmed that's what happened. They could not figure out how to refund it, and I ended up waiting about 20 minutes (already missing a lunch reservation) until someone came back who could refund it. They handed me a credit slip but my card was charged. The charge hit my bank immediately, of course, but the refund did not. That night, we realized our door didn't latch. Like to the point that it probably wasn't closing properly even when housekeeping left. Even knowing this was the issue, it took 7 or 8 slams to get it to latch. Slamming too hard would just make it bounce. Obviously, this was unsafe for my belongings when I wasn't there and unsafe for us personally at night. I called the front desk that night and someone came up who slammed it closed and said that's all you have to do, and left. From the inside, I couldn't even tell if it was truly closed, because from the outside, all you had to do was push it open. The next day, before we left with the car, I asked if I should park in the same spot, if I needed any kind of tag on the car, etc. They were confused about why I even asked. We came back hours later, and sure enough someone was in my spot, so I had to park in another spot. I reported this to them, and again they were confused and expected me to wait around. I finally told them we were going out to dinner (without the car) and would be unavailable to move it. This is now the second to third time, depending on how you count, that they expected me to sit around accommodating their is

Bright, airy hotel in the centre of town. Strange that shower and WC are not in same room and no washing facilities in WC. No storage space for clothes, so living out of suitcase. Main shower head was clogged. Very comfy large bed and good linen. Very friendly, efficient staff.

We were not sure what to expect, having chosen this place for location but knowing that it is part of a hotel chain. We need not have worried; within the walls of the old city, overlooking a park-like square, it was a very comfortable and well-run place, with a nice little bar (we did not try the restaurant), a friendly staff (some with pretty good English) and nice, well-furnished rooms. We enjoyed our stay, and for a very central location in this charming old city you cannot do better.

Hotel is situated off main area by 2 minutes, but it made for very quiet and perfect sleep. Bed was very comfortable and the hotel staff friendly, helpful and very responsive. It's a 2 minute walk to everything, but if you stay here, take advantage of their spa. We had massages from Sandra and Chloe and they were so nice and massage awesome!! We also had dinner on our last night at Le Petite Be and the food was just terrific. What a very nice stay, made for a perfect trip.

I was satisfied with my stay, but was spoiled by a charge that I did not remember seeing. Although we stayed on a plan that included breakfast, we were told that we would have to settle the bill upon check-out. We told them that we were not satisfied with the fact that we had to pay for a plan that included everything, but they insisted that we had to pay. Both we and the other party had difficulty communicating with each other in English, which is not our native language, and we decided that it would be difficult to continue further communication on the spot, so we made the payment once. Afterwards, we checked the reservation details again with Agoda, and confirmed with Agoda that since the plan included breakfast, no payment would be incurred upon check-out. We emailed the hotel to that effect and requested that they provide us with a statement from their official website, but they never responded at all. We are outraged at the response, which is not very like a four-star hotel. Finally, Agoda also supported us and said that this cost was due to the fact that we requested a twin room. I was not told that there would be an additional charge, and I don't remember agreeing to it, but I cried myself to sleep because I thought further correspondence would be a waste of my time. I would never recommend staying at this hotel, which demands unclear payment and treats its customers with disrespect, which I do not believe a four-star hotel should have done. I highly recommend requesting a list when you are asked for a payment you don't remember seeing. In addition, I have not heard from them personally in response to any of my inquiries via email or their official website, which I do not consider to be a sensible response.

Really liked the Grande Be. Second to none location in the old town. Large, well appointed rooms and great staff. Had reservations elsewhere, so didnt use the restaurant, but by the looks, it wouldn’t be a disappointment. Gym was a bit small and unloved, but rest of the spa was worth a visit.

Lovely hotel. We had an hour use of the spa each day too. Unfortunately no breakfast included which was the only negative. The staff were great. The room was awesome. We had to change rooms because we added an extra night last minute and the staff moved our bags for us.
