Stayed for 2 nights in November. Very nice hotel, recently refurbished very sensitively and feels like a high quality place. The room was excellent - spacious and with a harbour view (a superior room on a half price deal!). The Rising Sun was the only busy place in St Mawes which I think says a lot. Friendly staff, lovely breakfast and dinner (we ate at the Rising Sun both evenings) . The only minor points are we would have liked info in the room on how to use the coffee machine and how to switch the towel rail on! And more dairy free options on the dinner menu would have been good. All in all a great value break

Lovely place to stay. Comfortable bed, a sofa and 2 armchairs in the room. Good shower. All very clean. Dry robes were provided to borrow in case of bad weather which is a really good idea as the weather can be bad at times.( it is the UK!) Would definitely stay again. Breakfast had a lot of choice. Staff were really welcoming and service was good. Ate there for two evening meals. Very good food at a good price. I wish it were nearer to home!

Had a very enjoyable get-away break. Room was very comfortable and cosy. We had to turn the heating down just a little. Room had a nice seating area and a well equipped bathroom/shower. All clean. Restaurant was very good with specials every night inc Mondays! Good service in the evening and in the morning at breakfast. A good location in St Mawes for exploring the village and the coast. Would definitely recommend and go again.

Our 2 night stay at the Rising Sun was very comfortable, we had a spacious, superior room with sitting area which was only opened this year & had all the extras, even fresh milk in the fridge for our tea! Delicious biscuits too plus other snacks available in the room. The bed was extremely comfortable along with soft pillows, fluffy towels & an excellent roomy shower. Excellent breakfast choice with friendly staff. All in all a lovely stay with a special half price deal at the time.

Great location for a weekend in St Mawes. Cosy rooms, friendly staff, delicious breakfast/ coffee and comfy beds and just a few steps away from your morning swim. Can highly recommend if you’re thinking about a trip to that area. Stayed with another couple in one of their family rooms.

We had a lovely one night stay at The Rising Sun. Our room was excellent and very cosy,weather was great on Saturday so we sat outside on the patio area for an evening drink. We booked a meal in the restaurant and the food was really good. Our waitress was very helpful, the only downside to our meal was the room we were in was quite cold even though there were two fireplaces (unlit). When we left our table we discovered the front door to the pub was still open, hence the draught! All in all we have no hesitation in recommending The Rising Sun to friends and family and will certainly stay there again!
