General Overall, we will come a second time. We would like to emphasize that the service including house keeping and especially Mihira, Azad, Raquel and Yuli really made our trip a very nice experience. Check-In and the management should improve as the service did not even correspond to a 1 star hotel - here we recommend to take a look at the Kempinski in Muscat. Room The rooms are spacious with plenty of storage space for clothes. Still water is provided free of charge. House Keeping super attentive, so that you feel completely cared for. Restaurants Basically everything is possible or is made possible, and the service is more than courteous. The food at the Mekong is excellent. The portions in both a-la-carte restaurants are generally very large, so it's worth sharing appetizers and/or the main course. Service Apart from the check-in (we have never experienced anything so bad, see below), the service is exceptionally good. In the buffet restaurant we would like to thank Azad and Yuli in particular, they really welcomed us every day with a smile and served us latte macchiato and a fresh coconut without asking. Raquel from the Mekong also lovingly familiarized us with some Thai traditions. Mihira, the personal trainer, is also highly recommended - he gets you to push yourself to the limit. Perfect, very much appreciated! Now to the check-in: here we have to say: This was exceptionally bad! On arrival we were left standing in the lobby without knowing where to go. Nobody was interested in us although the staff obviously had nothing to do. After we simply sat down at one of the check-in desks, the check-in and the explanation of the different offers was so bad and listless that we actually were fed up already. The half board was explained incorrectly/not at all; we were simply left alone - the only important thing to the lady, who did the check-in, seemed to be the deposit on the credit card. All in all, the check-in was presumptuous and condescending. When we wanted to give constructive feedback (by chance we had come across the check-in manager), despite her assurances, we never got the impression that she was interested or even striving for continuous improvement. All in all, the management (apart from Eddie) would do well to take a leaf out of the employees' book in terms of friendliness and appreciation. Pool The infinity look with a view of the sea and the size of the pool were great Beach After the monsoon season you can't get into the water because the waves are too high (no criticism of the hotel) otherwise the beach is perfect. Gym It's worth asking and booking a few lessons with the personal trainer Mihira and/or attending his session at the Jungle Gym. Otherwise, the gym is very small and rather poorly equipped. The Jungle Gym, on the other hand, offers many possibilities if you want to do outdoor sports.
