The Footprint is not easy to reach (due to a lack of flights at the moment). Unfortunately, for us it was just a stopover on the way to Sibuyan. With the early flight from Manila to Caticlan, then with the local ferry (bangkas=adventure) over to St.Fe (2h), then with a tricycle 2h to the Footprint, located about 2 km north of St.Andres in the north of Tablas. There is nothing nearby, if you come here, you spend your time here too. We would have liked to have stayed longer than 2 nights (which were actually only 1.5 due to the early departure to S.Agustin). Owen, his wife and family have created a wonderful, magical, relaxed and individual atmosphere here, which of course also thrives on its isolation. We stayed in Ocean Breeze Bungalow 4, a few steps from the well-kept (!) beach, you can also swim at low tide!!! A walk along the beach to the north past fishing boats, especially in the afternoon, a wonderful atmosphere and great light, reminded us of magical moments in Indochina. Overall, we had the impression that a lot of concrete experiences had been incorporated here: so many details that make up the overall impression. Starting with the "beachcombing cabana" on the beach, individual seating options (sundowners), covered areas on the beach, the atmospheric restaurant with bar. The restaurant should really be rated separately ;-) Top quality, local tradition meets practice (tenderloin with beef dishes). All at fair prices, including for the drinks. Room: top, high feel-good factor, good bathroom, fridge, great light, outdoor shower with foot tap, top details right down to the broom for the sand on the terrace and sun visors. The whole thing has a "mini village structure". That makes it very pleasant and gives a grown-up impression. And: all the staff are just top!!!!!!!! Conclusion: great tip for anyone looking for something special, ideal as a stopover on the way to Romblon / Sibuyan, but we recommend at least 3 nights. Very good value for money too!
