Salobre Hotel Resort & Serenity

Wow! What an amazing retreat for us. Hotel is fantastic, the pools and open areas are kept well and very clean. The sunset pool on floor 11 was stunning with amazing views of the surrounding mountains, golf course and sea. The scenery was amazing! Staff were friendly,accommodating and professional. Food was excellent with a range of starters, mains and desserts for dinner and huge selection also for breakfast in a buffet style arrangement for all appetites. Meat & fish cooked to your requirements by the chefs. Themed nights whilst we were there included Spanish, Asian & Barbecue. Pool bar on 11th floor is also fantastic for food. Rooms were cleaned daily if required or if you want to be economical you can ask not to have your room cleaned and receive a €4 voucher for food/drink or donate to charity. Complimentary water provided daily. Beds were very comfortable. And equipped with tea & coffee making facilities. Our only constructive criticism would be that the evenings could have been a little more enjoyable had there been some light evening entertainment after dinner although we did also enjoy the serenity of quiet evenings. There was a live singer one evening but maybe it would’ve been nice to have an option to watch or listen to some more traditional music to bring people together as no options for after dinner. We also used the Be Aloe wellness spa for the circuit of using steam room, sauna etc. we had pedicure & full body anti stress massage which were both amazing. We didn’t use the golf courses as the days were very hot but we would consider in the future if we return. Overall a fantastic experience at Salobre hotel & Serenity and we loved it, you won’t be disappointed.

The hotel is excellent..arrived to a glass of prosecco..our room was very clean and spacious with a very large balcony.the food was excellent.the staff are all so lovely polite and helpful,the pool/towel man called Haviar on the sunset pool was always to helpful and always welcomed us with a smile .lots of lovely spaces around the hotel to sit in the evening.if you want to go down to the town there is a complimentary bus from hotel,we used the spa one afternoon, was very relaxing ..all in all we will Def go back to Salobre Serenity

Amazing hotel, lovely gem of a place. We spent 8 days here and this was the second time visiting. We will be back. We came this time with friends who also loved it. It’s quiet, so don’t come here if you want to party. It’s a golf resort, so people here play golf throughout the day which leaves the hotel quiet and tranquil. Always plenty of sun bed whatever time of day. It’s a large hotel and has a complicated lift system, there is lots of walking to get to the pools if your room is over the far side of the hotel. We hired a car and it’s very easy to get to from the airport, you then have the freedom to explore the area. There’s plenty of parking spaces. Big shout out to the waitress at the sunset pool bar, she went above and beyond to make our stay fantastic. All the staff are lovely, friendly and helpful, you can tell they all love working there. Try the sangria, it’s amazing. Entertainment is good, singer most nights. There are also board games in the side car bar if you want to mix it up a bit. There are lots of lovely nook to sit and relax in the evening .

This place is unbelievably good! Incredible food, luxury rooms and it will make you relax and switch off from life whilst you’re there. This is the second time I’ve been to the Solobre and it didn’t disappoint from the moment we got there. We arrived late but they kindly fed us despite the restaurant being closed. Throughout the 14 days I didn’t once have a bad meal. The food is exceptional. There isn’t any other word for it and one of the reasons why I will keep returning. I spent most of the time on the sunset terrace on the 11th floor. It has the most amazing infinity pool, stunning views of the mountains and is catered for by the nicest people. Ultimately a hotel will never be so good without the team working there. They are all incredibly helpful, kind and professional and constantly endeavour to meet your needs and maintain the hotel facilities to the highest standards. There is also car rental on site which allows you to travel round this most amazing island whilst you’re staying there. Whilst there is a live singer in the adjoining S-club bar from time to time, If you want a loud entertainment filled hotel with lots of bars and clubs near by-don’t come here but that’s what makes it so special from the other hotels in the big resorts. Initially felt very pampered in the lovely deluxe room but then the last two days of our week servicing of our room fell apart. Friday our room wasn’t cleaned at all and we were left with no milk, tea ,coffee or sugar. We complained at the reception desk and we’re told the missing things would be replaced immediately.We got back to the room to find 8 pots of milk only, bit useless for a morning cuppa. Saturday we came back from a walk and the maid was in the process of cleaning. After she finished and left we came back in to find all the milk was gone, we had one Tbag, one Coffee sachet no sugar. The old t bags from 2 days before were left and neither of the cups had been washed. Don’t know what was going on but the luxury feel of the hotel has gone.

I have just returned from a week at the Salobre with my 12 year old daughter. From the warmth of welcome, premium welcome drinks and impressive entrance lobby, we knew we were in for a great trip. Check in was swift and efficient. As we had arrived after dinner had finished for the evening, we were directed to the restaurant where a table was laid out with an impressive cold buffet of salad, seafood, cheeses, meats and breads. It was really lovely touch. Our room was large and well appointed with a particularly impressive shower and bathroom. Plentiful wardrobe and storage space added to the excellent amenities, which included bathrobes and slippers. Worth noting this is a no paper hotel so there are no menus or information in the rooms or restaurants. You have to download the hotel app where you will find everything you need to know including menus, activities and all prices. You can also communicate with reception via a live chat. However, this did not always work. Prior to setting off from home, we received a letter from our tour operator advising of building noise from the site directly opposite the hotel. We chose not to change hotels. The first few days the noise was barely noticeable. However, on the last few days it became considerably louder, but didn’t start before 8.30am. From the main pool the noise was not audible at all. It really didn’t interrupt our enjoyment at all. The food at this hotel is outstanding. The buffet breakfast and dinner was one of the best anywhere I have been in the world. An abundance of seafood, steak, chicken, pasta, pizza and noodle bar added to the impressive salad and dessert stations. Truly outstanding! Food and drink very reasonably priced and considerably less expensive than the UK. There is a regular free shuttle bus to and from Maspalomas which is around 10/15 minutes away. Here you will find a great selection of shops, restaurants and bars, again all very reasonably priced. The vast majority of staff at this resort are extremely friendly and warm. One or two were less so. However, it did not impact on the overall experience. The pool areas are excellent and it was never an issue getting a sunbed. Towels are available poolside. There is a great restaurant alongside the main pool serving outstanding food and drinks. This is a beautiful resort a little off the beaten track, but you have everything you need on site including a small supermarket. From reading other reviews, it is not true that you cannot bring in your own water. A complimentary bottle of water is placed in your room each day. The purchased water being referred to in other reviews is water which you may choose to purchase at the bars and restaurants, but you certainly can bring your own provisions in for your room or to have at the pool should you choose. This was our first time in Gran Canaria and the experience of this resort would certainly ensure we will return. A really fantastic holiday!

Enjoyable 5 day break that was our sixth visit. Food as usual was good quality and the staff attentive. Yanira in particular deserves a mention. The golf course was in great condition and complimentary golf in the summer months is an added bonus. Our only real criticism would be that the sun beds are uncomfortable.
