This hotel was great. I really enjoyed the stay in this place. The room was big, clean and well maintained with a comfortable bed and a super nice fridge. There is a parking place for free, but soon it will be charged for 15$/day. The staff was very kind. There is also a well mantener swimming pool that we didn’t use. There is a nice restaurant with great waffles for breakfast close to the lobby. Overall a great place where to stay!

Was very pleased with my stay here. Only complaint is the people above me stomping around and the people next to me slamming their door late at night and early in the morning. I would definitely stay at this place again. It was clean and very roomy. Walking distance from some good restaurants. Good sized tv with fast internet.

Located in downtown San Diego, half an hour's walk from the convention center. The hotel is of decent size. I saw a worker having to go after a bystander that seemed to have been waiting for anyone to come out of the place, then a biker stole a displaced person's handbag (appeared to have passed out under the influence outside the premises). Staff: I liked Carlos and Ricky a lot, both were always very helpful, accommodating, so was the darker lady at the front desk and the cleaning attendant. I would have problems with my NZ phone to rebook and extend my stays, both would just take care of my reservation by phone and they would email me the confirmation. This happened twice as I extended my stay for a total of 3 weeks. Unfortunately when I tried to do the same through a new worker on the phone (I apologize to not know his name), he sternly asserted that Ricky and Carlos should not be taking reservations by phone. I politely tried to explain myself that I've always had problems with my phone, that I was a repeat or returning guest, and Ricky and Carlos were just being helpful. My mistake was I had asked him if he was the owner then I realized who he was, through the same voice that I would hear in the lobby getting upset over little things with other guests. As soon as I asked if he might have been the owner or manager (since he kept saying Ricky and Carlos were wrong to have helped me process my reservations to extend via phone and email), he hung up and then sent me the email, which I have attached here. Common areas: I wouldn't say they are the classiest and cleanest of hostels in town. If you want a real ”classy” hostel, unassuming without shoving the term in your face, GO TO HI HOSTEL (HOSTEL INTERNATIONAL), they are the cleanest, classy if one must say, organized, huge common areas that are not noisy (Stay Classy can very noisy), right in the middle of Gaslamp Quarter and non-profit. Bed: excellent concept of the separation of ”quarters” via heavy curtains, but tbh it got claustrophobic if you stay long enough in your lil space. It also felt like a morgue as you enter the passageway of the room with all these quarters.

Family hotel, convenient transportation, room is too small. There is no place to put a few boxes, the shower room is too small to be separated from wet and dry.

We're return customers to the 1906 Lodge, and always had a pleasant stay. The staff is still great and helpful! Breakfast and happy hour great, and they provide gluten-free options too! We really like the 1906 because it's a quiet and cozy oasis. However, the difference now is all of the rooms have a portable AC unit and portable heaters, as the main cooling and heating system is broken. We were there in July and the outdoor temps hit 79, and returning to the room at 9pm and our Garden King Spa Room was still 77. Not so cozy, and with the portable AC, not so quiet. Take this into consideration with the amount you'll pay compared to other options.

The location is a bit off, about 10 miles to attractions or outlets. The sound insulation was a bit poor, and the sound of the conversation next door could be heard. Fortunately, the residents next door are very self-disciplined and do not speak loudly at night. The service attitude of the hotel is very good and the facilities are perfect. There are restaurants around and IN-OUT (the hottest burger) not far away. There is also a bus center in 8 minutes walk, 2.5 knife can be done to the aircraft carrier museum.

Rated s 5. Shaq along with the other employees have exemplary customer service. The grounds are well as maintained. Shaq went above and beyond to show true compassion and customer service. This was true for all employees. I will be back. It was home away from home.
