No tuve la suerte de encontrar disponibilidad de habitación, aun que pase por el hotel y no se veía lleno, parece ser muy concurrido en fines de semana o solo lo dejan reservar a extranjeros. Tuve que hospedarme en el hotel San Borja, en San Felipe. Esa es es mi experiencia.

The hotel provided our room number, name, and phone number to, what we believe to be, the Sinaloa Cartel. We were held hostage by phone for about 20 minutes when two men, pretending to be police working with the front desk, called us on WhatsApp and demanded information about us and our adult children. They said they were going room by room investigating *****, guns, and a kidnapping. They said if we left the room, they would shoot us. We finally ran out to the reception area and checked out immediately. The hotel keeps saying they are too busy to refund us for the time we prepaid but didn't stay. We believe they wanted to extort ransom money from our kids. The room was mediocre, especially for $125/night. No coffee, fridge, ice, tissues, etc. I would definitely avoid this place!

I stayed on this property in February 2022. It now is called the San Felipe Beach Hotel. The hotel was not a destination for me, just a stop on the drive south. My room cost 1600 pesos (~$80). I did like the beachfront location that was reasonably quiet at night. The best part is that there is a nice, reasonably priced beachfront restaurant called Matilde, about a 5 min walk south from the hotel along the beach. The check-in process was fine and the staff friendly and English-speaking. The room itself was not so great. It's basically a $30/night room with all that implies, but it was $80 a night because it's on the beach and 2 hours from the border with California. It was OK for me to catch a night's sleep, but I would not bring my wife here.

First time come to San Felipe, we booked this hotel at last minute. This is a very basic hotel, everything is pretty old, and you don’t even get hair conditioner, only shampoo and a bar soap. You don’t get any cups , hair dryer either. We got three remote controls when we checked in, but we could not turn on the TV with TV remote. Room is big, and face a beach. We need to get some bottle water and called the front desk, no one pick up around 8:10 pm. Then we realized the guy supposed to work at the office was drinking at the table in the hall way. We ended up walked to the hotel next door to buy Costco water for $1.50 each.
