I’ve stayed at all the high end hotels in SF … Four Seasons, St Regis, Ritz, etc and so when I heard about this relatively new hotel I was intrigued. Rooms looked nice and a newer hotel is always a nice treat. Stayed two nights while my wife and I were up in SF moving our daughter into law school. The property and room was nice as expected from a stylish newer hotel but that’s as far it goes in terms of it being a high end hotel. The service… could never reach house keeping to clean out room. The elevators were sometimes painfully slow. The valet took 30 minutes!!!! At $72 a night to park WTH. And it’s one thing if the front desk at least warned us so we could plan accordingly but nope. Valet acted like that was the norm. Never encountered that at the other higher end hotels. Was terrible late to an event as a result. All in all.. the facilities were nice and stylish but it’s far from a higher end experience. At the end of the day it’s about the service that sets apart a top end hotel and the Jay falls short.

The Jay, Autograph Collection is a lovely hotel in the center of the Financial District. The rooms are spacious and well appointed with modern furniture, plenty of lighting, and room to work and relax. The view from the 24th floor was spectacular providing scenes of the water and the mountains. I enjoyed the classic yet creative menu at the 3rd floor restaurant and lounge. The fitness center was top notch with several Peloton bikes, treadmills, and full complement of weights. I would highly recommend staying here on your next visit to San Francisco.

Booked The Jay for my 60th birthday and let the hotel know before our arrival. Requested high floor room if possible. Also requested feather pillows None of my requests were honored. We booked a studio suite with a skyline view. Got to the hotel, checked in. As we are Bonvoy Gold members I inquired about a free upgrade. She said there were none. I said ok and was excited to celebrate my birthday. She asked if today was my birthday, I said no it’s in a couple of days. Got to our room. We had a view of the top of a building and the street below. 14th floor (hotel has 24 floors) it was depressing really. I called the front desk and asked if they had a room with a better view. She said yes but it was a King room not a suite. She said it had a nice view. We took it. Much smaller room but nice view. Spent the next three days sightseeing, eating yummy food. The weather was amazing as was San Francisco. The staff at the Jay were very friendly. The overall experience was lackluster and disappointing as I really thought they would recognize my birthday in someway, anything would have been nice. But nothing. Why bother being a Bonvoy Gold member. It’s worthless. With all the hotel choices in San Francisco, I recommend you do not stay at The Jay. You can do much better.

The Jay Autograph Collection hotel is a gem in the City. The newly completed renovations are stunning at every turn. We were greeted warmly at reception and we were given a beautiful room. Once in the room, the view we had was spectacular. The furnishings were top notch. The room was spacious and clean. We enjoyed coffee in the morning at the coffee bar. There was an outdoor area to enjoy next to the restaurant. The service was always excellent. There were many wonderful restaurants within walking distance. The ferry building and pier were two blocks away. All in all, an amazing experience. We will be back!

We are Bay Area residents and the Jay is our new go-to hotel in SF. It offers great Bay views and is in a great location if you like to walk. Walking options include a very flat walk along the Embarcadero (to Fisherman's Wharf, Ferry Building, even to Oracle Park. North Beach is at your feet and Union Square just an easy up hill in 10 min. The rooms are large and the staff is friendly. Lots of dining options also within walking distance as in a Safeway just around the corner.

I loved staying here. I loved the warm, modern comfort of the room, which offered a calm retreat from the bustling city and gave us wonderful views of the bay. I loved the feel of the hotel, intimate and beautifully designed, I loved the staff who was friendly and always helpful. And I loved the location: easy walking to the bay, the Ferry Building, and many, many restaurants. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We will be back.

The hotel feels very new or recently renovated. It’s well decorated and the rooms are large and all seem to offer some type of interesting view. The hotel is in the Financial District which can be a little quiet on weekends. But it’s not far from anything and SF is an easy city to get around. Particularly, it’s just a short three block walk from the Ferry Building which is a great shopping and dining complex which also offers a nice farmers market on Saturdays (not much use for a traveler staying in a hotel but worth noting this fun experience). My only critique is that the restaurant opens a bit late—given that a lot of travelers are coming from the East. As I write this I’m waiting for the breakfast service to begin at 7am PT—which is a bit late for my body clock of 10a ET. Otherwise I was impressed with this hotel and I’d highly recommend it.

Loved the hotel and the staff is great. I am a lifetime Platinum Elite member and frequently use my points to book mini family vacations. We spent 5 nights in Yosemite and before we flew back to Atlanta wanted to experience San Francisco. We had 2 rooms for 2 nights each at The Jay and loved our stay. The folks are friendly right from at the entrance where they greet you, assist with the bags, check-in process, restaurant etc. Bumped into the manager or general manager a couple of times and he checked up on us and expressed his thanks!. These days, it feels good to find people who enjoy and take pride in their work!!!

We loved this hotel. Everything from the remodel to the attentive staff gets 5 stars. Rooms were oversized with super comfortable beds and great little extras that made the stay even more pleasurable. Wonderful toiletries and little extras that that show they really want to please the guest. Even the gym was well appointed and not basic. Kettlebells, medicine balls, equipment normally not available in a hotel gym. Even though we were there for pleasure we loved the location. Very quiet and conveniently located. We will definitely be back.
