Best place I have ever stayed! In the jungle— has canoes to to down river, complimentary bird watching tours, hiking paths, and rooms are beautiful! Perfect if you want a getaway in the jungle!

We are an elderly expat couple who live in Belize full time. For my husband’s 80th birthday and our 59th anniversary we spent three nights at Mystic River Resort and we could not have chosen a better place. It is beautiful, quiet, comfortable and the nicest staff we have ever seen. We stayed in one of the Cloud 9 rooms and enjoyed the private plunge pool, what a treat to cool down right outside our room. We had coffee delivered to our door step every morning with a little surprise snack to go with it. The food is delicious and the serving sizes are huge. There are specials every night and they were never the same and their beautiful garden provides them with their vegetables and fruits that we ate every day. I had the hot stones Swedish massage and they came and did it in my room. You can have it down at the yoga spot overlooking the river but since I have mobility issues, they came to me. You can also have room service for your meals if you want but I do not recommend missing eating in that beautiful dining room overlooking the river. They helped me surprise my husband with a birthday celebration. I had contacted them for a special cake but they not only made the delicious cake, they decorated their private palapa just below the main dining room for his birthday. It was such a special birthday for him and he was so touched by all the things they did to help him celebrate. We will definitely be back. It is a wonderful place for all ages and we were treated so special.

Absolutely wonderful stay at Mystic River. They took fantastic care of our family with two young teen boys. The location and facilities are a peaceful oasis and the entire team was truly kind. Can't say enough about the fantastic tours booked through the hotel -- ATM cave, Tikal trip, night hike and ziplining on way back to Belize City. Hotel drivers both directions were also welcoming and wonderful. Hope to revisit soon!

Wow!! True jungle experience!!! So incredibly beautiful, and everywhere you walk it just smells so fresh like flowers and the sounds of nature are so relaxing!!! Rooms are spacious with comfy beds. Rooms have ceiling fans and standing fans to battle having no A/C. Highly recommend hitting the pool before bed for a night swim to cool off!! Gorgeous views from our balcony of the river. We went tubing (very slow moving), kayaking, birding, hiking at the resort. Went across to Sweet Songs to explore. Food is all homemade and they grow their own food. The gardens are huge!!! Service is soooo friendly and helpful. The tour guides are amazing!!!!! Ask for Marlin (he did all of ours!!). We did excursions to Xunantunich and cave tubing at Nohoch Che’en. Awesome! So great having the guides to give you history and explain everything. Definitely recommend Mystic River!!!

Amazing jungle hotel. Accommodations were very nice and the one bedroom suite worked well for our family of four. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We loved the pool and bar. San Ignacio and surrounding areas are special, don’t just go to the islands!

A beautiful, restful vacation with our family. Loved our stay. Super comfortable beds, peaceful sounds of the jungle, birds and animals galore. Great food, amazing pool, wonderful staff. Add on a massage and sign up for yoga. This hotel is a unique experience and everything is wonderfully organized to enjoy the serenity.

We had a fantastic stay at Mystic River. Everything about this place is great. They provide top notch personal service and they work with you seamlessly so that you have the exact experience you want in Belize. From organizing rides to/from the airport to setting up the details of every adventure experience available in Belize, they do it all. We would definitely recommend Mystic River to any traveler looking to take advantage of the best that Belize has to offer.

Amazing! Nothing we can say that probably hasn't been said by others. Spent 4 nights here with our kids. The one bedroom suite was perfect, which they set up with 2 twin beds in the living area (which you never really spend time in except for sleeping since there's so much to do at the resort and area). All the staff are great, helpful, flexible with your needs. Offer great suggestions for touring, either on your own or with tours. We did some of both since we had a rental car. The food in the restaurant was ok. Similar to just eating at an American restaurant. Nothing really unique, but not bad at all. We ate elsewhere for lunch and dinner when we could since we prefer more local food. Camas in nearby Cristo Rey was a great suggestion from their staff for local food, as was the Family Restaurant in St. Antonio. Both about 10minutes away by car, and there are some options at other lodges and in St. Ignacio (20 minutes away). Everything else was top notch and we'd go back.

Mystic River Resort is tucked away through a beautiful trek in the mountains of Cayo. A short drive from San Ignacio and down some windy gravel roads will make one wonder what this resort could possibly offer. The resort offers beautifully designed luxury cabanas each with their own private path through the beauty of the jungle. Each room has its own porch overlooking the Macaw river. The beds can be customized to one or two or one placed in the living rea to provide privacy. With the resort being 100 percent sustainable, there is no air conditioning but many fans available. The workers are very helpful from the start by carrying luggage from vehicle, and giving a orientation of the property. The grounds are absolutely stunning. Many well directed paths take you to the pool, nature walks, garden, kayaks etc. The resort offers free birdwatching, free canoeing, a yoga deck, spa services, pool, restaurant and bar They do ask you plan on notifying the front desk ahead of time if you plan on using the services. The restaurant and bar is open all day but in slower seasons special accommodations are made. All food is sourced directly from the garden on the grounds. Menu changes daily and can be viewed in the morning. Also recommended placing do not disturb on room if one wants to help preserve power otherwise room will be attended and all linens and sheets will be changed daily. All additional amenities may be charged to account so no need to carry cash except for tips. Had a wonderful stay enjoy the walks through the garden, yoga on the deck, sitting watching the birds, late night swims, canoeing down the river, room service on the porch and the overall kindness of all the employees.
