I checked in on June 28 and checked out June 29 (1 night stay). Reception was excellent at check in. When I checked out today the Receptionist was also excellent. My problem started after I loaded my vehicle and got in. A Male waiter came knocking on my vehicle window and presented a breakfast bill for $27. I informed him that he was making a mistake and he should check the room number because I did not use the restaurant service. He got very aggressive and demanded that I paid him. I got out of my car and escorted him back to the front desk. Again the receptionist was very professional and also told the waiter that he was making an error. She then pointed out the correct guest to the waiter. I was insulted by the actions of this waiter and would never go back or recommend this hotel. Steps need to be put in place by the restaurant/hotel to ensure proper room numbers are recorded on bills.

Downhill cabana so-so. Needed a good scrubbing especially the bath. Difficult to get up and down to it. Staff very good. Food/sushi/drinks pretty good, a little pricey. Breakfast so-so. Staff again 1st rate.

It is a beautiful setting on top of the hill above town. So walking to it was challenging but fun for me. Staff were awesome. If you are a light sleeper don’t get a room above the bar and restaurant. Comfy room. Warm water runs out in the afternoon but when it’s hot out it feels great to take a cool shower.

We stayed in a standard cabaña and were provided with a standing fan to circulate the air conditioning, which helped tremendously compared to our first unbearably hot night. No refrigerator or microwave, so we couldn’t bring back or heat up leftovers when we dined out, and we couldn’t keep any cold drinks in our room (no ice machine either). Everything needs an upgrade in the cabaña: cracked tiles in the bathroom, leaky sinks, poor water pressure, worn-out chaise, sliding doors that didn’t lock or even latch, couldn’t watch TV because of odd placement, same with air conditioner facing the wrong way. The location of the resort is also unfortunate; it is up a hill and you will need your own car or pay for a taxi to go anywhere. Plenty of dining options at the resort, but the food was just okay. Drinks were great though! Majority of the staff looked unhappy to be there. As much as we loved San Ignacio, there are too many reasons to avoid Cahal Pech in the future. Plus, we stayed 10 nights and booked directly with the hotel… it would have been nice to get some kind of recognition or special treatment, but only two staff members noticed and who made us feel like VIP guests… thank you Lucy and Jasmine!

Conveniently located right by the Cahal Pech Mayan ruins, resort was very accommodating. Variety of food options available both off and onsite. Pool was a great refresher after a long day out and about visiting everything Belize has to offer. Room was a bit smaller than expected but still very pleased with our stay.

Room did not have adequate AC with San Ignacio experiencing over 100 degree Fahrenheit. Room remained boiling all night and because of surrounding activity, noise was loud until 2am. I was not able to sleep all night. Chairs in the room were also very dirty. Paid for breakfast which was a buffet with limited food. Overall very poor experience.

This place sure isn’t what it used to be. The air conditioning in the rooms can’t function enough to keep it cooler than the outside air. We were also told we were in cabanas at the top of the hill and when we checked in we were at the very bottom and let me tell you that’s really not a fun walk to do. As I’m laying here in bed at 217 am all I can hear is the massive bass pounding from the dance club right by us. I used to really enjoy this place but it sure has went downhill. We will definitely never stay here again
