DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Cariari San Jose - Costa Rica
4.1/589 Reviews
This hotel rocks! We stayed here the first night of our trip, and were welcomed by the kind staff and some of the FRESHEST and WARMEST TASTIEST free cookies upon check in. By the end of our stay one of our relatives literally hoarded the cookies, asking for 4-5 per day. The pool was very pretty, and the breakfast was so fancy, aesthetic and tasty! The rooms were nice and cool, very clean, and had a great selection of TV channels. On the last night of our trip, we had initially pre-planned to stay at this one hotel in the forrest, but our party decided to leave because of a number of concerning observations. We were all exhausted as it was the end of our trip, and needed somewhere to stay. Immediately everyone started chanting that they wanted to go back to the DoubleTree. We arrived and everyone sighed a relief, and we went to our warm beds with our cookies!

The breakfast was very good, better than Intercontinental; the room was very clean, but the bathroom toiletries could not be used effectively - shampoo, need to be optimized; there was no bottled water supply in the room.
Costa Rica Marriott Hotel Hacienda Belen

My coworker and I stayed here for three nights for a work trip. The property is lush and looks like you are transported a couple hundred years ago but resort is only 35 years old (from Marriott employee Fernando who gives tours of the property). There are two pools and a hot tub surrounded by so much lush vegetation. My initial room was 528 which is a handicap room but was quickly switched to 631 which has a walk-in shower with a glass door. The room had a modern feel with artwork of coffee beans. There was plenty of space at the desk as well as couch area. The breakfast was delicious and the servers were wonderful. Breakfast even starts at 6am, great for work trip. There is also a shuttle that runs on a schedule (see attached photo).

This accommodation is a must if you stay in San Jose! The free shuttle to and from the airport along with the most delicious breakfast are the icing on the cake! The king suite room was perfect! Even the stairs were doable for this chica with a big suitcase! The description as posted is absolutely spot on. The walls are covered in beautiful murals, the beds are comfy and inviting and the air conditioning gave the room its own temperature. We were met by Manford at the desk for check in and he was very welcoming. A nice gentleman showed us to the room ( and carried our luggage!) and we met Viviana and her crew in the restaurant. What a great meal after a tiring day. The breakfast the next morning held us over until dinner after a flight to Limon!! Don’t hesitate to book this hotel. The experience will be talked about forever in our memory bank!
