Reservierung lief problemlos, Das Hotel ist ruhig, das Frühstück ist legendär, das Personal freundlich. Problematisch wird es mit der Zahlung per Kreditkarte. Die Abbuchung wurde angekündigt, zwei Tage später mit einem schlechteren Wechselkurs abgerechnet und die Zahlungsankündigung blieb einfach stehen und war im Kontostand als Minus verbucht. Keine Reaktion des Hotels- nur der Rat, ich solle mich an meine Bank wenden, wo sie dann nach mehreren Kontakten gelöscht wurde. Deshalb Tipp von mir: Auf jeden Fall bar bezahlen!

Basic, clean hotel. Breakfast is served on the inviting terrasse, surrounded by beautiful plants. Lots of travelers from different parts of the world, seating areas invite to chill and chat. One of the best coffee places (Cafe del Barista)) is just one block away.

Cancelei a estadia no retorno a san jose
Cheguei as 9 da manha mas como o check-in só começa as 15 ficamoa rodando pela cidade. Ao chegar as 15h10 nao tinha vaga para estacionar e a recepcionista me aconselhou a 'dar uma voltinha' ! Quase tive uma sincope. No fim aguardamos mais 40 min para estacionar pq o estacionamento é minúsculo. No último dia, os 2 quartos que alugamos nao tinham agua para dar descarga.

Interesting hotel. Super unique. Totally disorganized and our room was infested with bed bugs. We left immediately when we discovered this. Management wasn’t even surprised about the bugs. Huge project to sanitize our luggage so we don’t take them home with us.

Una muy buena opción para quedarse en San José. Es una casona grande y bien habilitada, antigua pero muy acogedora. Muy buena atención, en un buen sector de restoranes pequeños pero muy buenos (a unos metros hay uno español imperdible). Dormimos 9 horas sin sentir ruido alguno, el desayuno es increíble, fruta, café, y productos locales increíbles, en una terraza hermosa y compañía de una ardilla curiosa.

Après l’avion, on est tout de suite dans l’ambiance. Nous avons beaucoup aimé cet hôtel typique, propre. Les chambres étaient confortables et spacieuses. Nous étions dans une chambre au calme. Parfait pour une nuit et commencer le super voyage au Costa Rica.

My friends and I stayed at this hotel during the San José portion of our Costa Rica vacation, and we thought the hotel was very charming and authentic, and it was pretty walkable from the places we wanted to go in Barrio Escalante. I felt the price was fair for three rooms, and the rooms were generally pretty clean. The only thing was that it could be nice to have a fan or something in the room for when it is hot during the day. The hotel breakfast on the patio was by far the best part of the hotel! It's clearly an old building that is eclectic and has antique furniture, but we thought it made it feel closer to an authentic costa Rican experience. Travelers expecting the standard hilton experience may be disappointed, but we felt we got what we wanted out of it!

I like old buildings surrounded by nature. This place might not be for everyone but it was perfect for me. Tranquilo. Older people. No stupid young ******, parties, or noise. Great free breakfast. Amazing staff.
