This was our first stay in this newly renovated “sister”hotel to the Condado Plaza Hotel across the street. I can easily say that this was the best Hilton Garden Inn I have stayed in. The location is just as you cross into the Condado section of San Juan heading east from the cruise ship terminals or at the end if heading from the airport (a $24 taxi ride). It’s a bit quieter than the heart of the Condado. The entire hotel is gleaming— a beautiful airy lobby that opens into the pool area, a breakfast restaurant, and a bar area. We lucked out on an upgrade to a high corner room with panoramic views of the ocean (picture attached) with a wrap around balcony. The room was nicely appointed and definitely upgraded from the previous property. This will be our new favorite when passing through San Juan on the way to adventures beyond. The only negative is the street noise on the side of the hotel but it was balanced by the view in my humble opinion— the view from the other side is of the lagoon also very nice.

More of a 4.5 out of 5 but I didn't have that option. The hotel was very pretty, great lobby ( mixed emotions about the caged birds but I don't know their story so---) , great bar, friendly service, good food options although way over priced and just ok, not amazing. Although the Puerto Rican restaurant on the property Mojitos had great drinks and the friendliest service. We preferred eating here over the other on property restaurants but still over priced. I suggest eating every meal off property. Now that we know there isnt anything special about the on property restaurants, thats what we'll do next time. Getting an Uber is very easy and you're a very short ride from a huge number of restaurants. I posted some Google reviews of our dining experiences but i'll post some here, too. The hotel location is great, right on the beach and 10 minutes from Old San Juan. We had a beautiful view of the beach, ocean and amenities from our room. Loved the little balcony. I think most, if not all rooms have a balcony. The elevators were very fast, we were in the 9th floor. This may not be a big deal but even though those days are over for me , i remember long waits at slow elevators with wet, tired little ones, not fun. The time of year we went was perfect (late August) after thr high season, so no huge crowds. We were able to enjoy the hammock ”park” on the property and find chairs on the beach in a great spot. Speaking if the beach, if you're looking for waves you're not really going to get them. There's a man made rock border to prevent what looked like could be some pretty intense waves were in not for that barrier. The beach is kind of a calm bay but it's nice. A beautiful blue and watching the waves crash against the rocks is a great sight to see. Exploring Old San Juan was awesome. The beautiful colors, the architecture, the history, the narrow streets, it really takes you on a journey. Great shopping and besides the touristy t shirt places, there were plenty of great artisan shops. Old San Juan is still recovering from hurricane Maria (I know - it's crazy) so there are lots of streets undergoing road construction and some businesses that are shuttered but the construction doesn't get in the way and there are a shops and restaurants galore. The construction does mean sometimes you have to maneuver to avoid closed sidewalks and may be walking under scaffolds but sort of like any major city undergoing construction because of growth, not disaster. We visited two of Old San Juan's forts (look like castles) Castillo San Cristobal & Puerta de San Juan. You get two great walks through old San Juan to both of them. All uphill to Puerta de San Juan bur a good uphill, not so strenuous that you don't enjoy the actual walk. It was pretty hot so luckily, there were plenty of places to choose from if you want to stop and have a refreshment or lunch. It's pretty easy to get turned around on the narrow, intersecting streets but just keep your tourist map handy. T

The staff rated an A++ and saved my trip to PR.. No thanks to airline cancellations, both my arrival and departure were delayed. Thankfully, the front-desk staff was super helpful in arranging my accommodations, esp when I had to spend an extra night in PR. The hotel is in a very good location, just off the beach in Condado - thus it's not quite a beach hotel. It is very quick from the airport and literally across the street from the beach. There are many restaurants nearby (and bars) but the nearest supermarket is about a 15-minute walk (there are convenience stores / pharmacies nearby). It's also very close to the ”lagoon” - a nice place to walk. The hotel itself is nice, nothing fancy. I had two different rooms - the AC was a little noisy in one of the rooms, but both ACs worked very well (important in hot / humid PR). There was no external noise but there is a little internal noise (doors opening, e.g.). The rooms are very well cleaned (and disinfected) and the fridges, irons, showers all worked well. The WiFi was very good in both of the rooms. There were plenty of outlets for recharging. Breakfast was average. The coffee was very good. They have different pastries each day and some of them were very good. The price was pretty good for the area, but Condado runs on the expensive side. I would stay here again.

The first room we were in was too small and the air conditioner was very loud. We could hardly sleep and the beds are full sized not queen sized. I ask three people could I change my room. I kept getting the run around, finally I found someone who could help. I paid a good bit of money to upgrade my room. We only had room service one time in the seven days we stayed there. I asked for service and the receptionist told me they give priority to people who stay there over three days. I BOOKED THERE SEVEN DAYS 🤬. I had to ask for towels everyday, if you are not going to clean the rooms, at least put clean towels in the room. This COVID bull about not cleaning rooms is BS. Do not buy the breakfast buffet. Just order off the menu and save some bucks. We will not stay there again.

There are not many Puerto Rico hotels to choose from on Ctrip, and the reviews are limited. Most of them are reproduced on booking. This hotel was chosen at random based on price and location. The hotel is quite old, the rooms are not big and clean, ten minutes drive from the old town, and there are some seaside highway scenery along the way. The hotel has two small swimming pools, which are mainly used to bring baby water. The beach in the hotel is very close, and a nice evening walk. Nearby restaurants, supermarkets, and Star Dad are available. There is a Chinese restaurant opened by Cantonese. The dishes are generally large but expensive, and three people eat ninety dollars quickly. Not recommended if there is no obsession with Chinese food. Breakfast at the hotel is not bad. If the requirements are not high, it is okay to eat enough. After all, the old breakfast is simple. After staying for two days, I got up to prepare for a bath the next day and found that there was no hot water. The parking lot is huge, $ 17 a night.

The location of the hotel is good, just near the international airport, which is more convenient. But the hotel service is very general, and I am particularly dissatisfied: 1. We booked three superior rooms with a view for six nights, but only two rooms were fulfilled. One room defaulted to a small low-rise ordinary room. After many negotiations, the contract was barely fulfilled until the fourth day. 2. The hotel is very dishonest and added 78 yuan for other people’s meals to our bill. After we found out, the receptionist's attitude was extremely bad. After consulting with the restaurant manager, he admitted that there was a mistake in his work and refunded us 78 yuan. U.S. dollars, but not even an apology. This is disappointing because of the loss of intercontinental standards!

Advantages: The hotel is not far from the airport, and the service attitude is very good. Although there are not many choices for breakfast every day, eggs are all made fresh. There are cocktails and various snacks at night. Basically, you only need to go out for a meal by yourself. Disadvantages: 1. The hotel is not on the seashore. The hotel's own beach needs to be walked for about five minutes. The scenery is of average quality. 2. The hotel has a resort fee of $ 35 per night, which is not so cost-effective. Overall it feels like a good choice.

GGuest UserIts a very clean hotel with many places to eat within walking distance as well as a movie theater, grocery store, and pharmacy down the street. It has a nice restaurant and rooftop pool that is very relaxing. The room was clean and had an ice maker, large sink and refrigerator. The only things I would improve are the lighting in the rooms - its somewhat dim if you need to do some work - they only have lamps and one small accent light in the ceiling - at least in the room I was in. The bathroom sink in my room was very small- couldn't hold toothbrush, razor, etc on it like most sinks. Those are small inconveniences - overall it's a very nice place to stay, the staff is very friendly and helpful and the location was great.

兔兔猴Ctrip is also enough. Originally, I had already set a room on Booking. I saw that Ctrip was a lot cheaper, and I retired the Booking. However, the so-called sea view room that was given to the store through Ctrip is a room in a room, and the TV wall of the other room is the bedside of our room. The TV and other sounds in the next room are clearly heard, which seriously affects sleep. The next day, I can only change the room. It is not the balcony room with sea view. I had tossed for a long time before and after changing rooms, and I was still in a bad mood. At the same time, the check-out also received a 142 knife ”Hotel Tax”. This tax order is not available, can you return it?

FffsggrReminder: For guests who have paid for the room in advance, the deposit must be used to deposit cash at check-in! !! !! With a credit card, and repeatedly confirmed that it will return to the account in full, the tax will be deducted quietly after two or three days. This is a different result after I had two Sheraton San Juan (one bet on cash and one on credit card): the former deducted $ 37.63, and the latter returned the cash in full on the spot. I believe other guests will have similar experiences. Ctrip paid for this fee after negotiations, but Sheraton did not do so in the Old City. If there is a need for tax deduction, it should be clearly stated in advance, or at least it should be notified at check-out (we asked when checking out, they also assured that they will Full refund). Given this almost equivalent to theft, a bad review was given in terms of service.

SSkylaGAhhh where to start? I had an amazing time at this hostel. I was always greeted in such a friendly way, and the rooms were always cleaned and well maintained by the excellent housekeeper, Edwin. He was so kind and gave great recommendations, and kept the bathroom and room very well maintained and clean. Dinelys and Nina were both so helpful and welcoming, especially since it was my first time in a hostel. I enjoyed my first time so much that I came back for another 4 nights a few days later! And thank God I did, i met some incredible people on my return visit! The rooftop is wonderful, and I felt very at home. The beach is a quick 6-10 minute walk away, and there’s plenty of food and shops around. Will absolutely stay again the next time I’m in San Juan! 🤍🤍

GGuest UserHere’s a brief summary of our family’s stay at Comfort Inn, San Juan for five days in August 2022. The GOOD – Location: It’s a 5-7 minute walk to the beach and the hotel offers complimentary beach towels, sun umbrellas, and lounge chairs for your use. There’s also a Cartier store at the end of the block, so you’re in a decent part of town, and there are quite a few restaurants within walking distance; Rooms: Our room was clean and bright. It looks like it had been renovated in the not-too-distant past. Good water pressure, nice TV, clean linen, small fridge, microwave, and coffee maker; Breakfast: There are some nice options included in the breakfast. Hot items (cheese omelets, bacon, sausage, country potatoes), cereal, make-it-yourself waffles, pastries, fresh fruit (bananas, apples, clementine oranges), yogurt, and a variety of juices; Hotel pool: It’s small but very nice. In addition to the pool, there’s also a hot tub for the adults and a kids’ wading pool. Lots of lounge chairs and towels. Fitness center: It has nice equipment and is in good condition, located by the pool; Housekeeping staff: We interacted with several members of the housekeeping staff and they were all extremely helpful and friendly. High marks in that department! The BAD – Parking: Technically, there is a parking lot at the hotel but it only holds about eight cars, at best. Beyond that, you’ll need to park in a garage down the street for about $20/night. The hotel was in the process of repaving the parking lot while we were there but I don’t think it will result in adding any additional spaces; Flooding: The street on two sides of the hotel flooded to a depth of about 8 inches twice during the five days we were there. Not sure what causes it, but it’s apparently an ongoing issue. If you want to get past the flooding, you have to get creative on how to access the front door. Not impossible, but also not ideal. The DEHUMIDIFIER – The first night we were there, we woke up in the morning to find that the floor in our room was WET. Not damp, but WET. As in, a “Maybe we should go look for a mop” kind of wet. It was at that point that we noticed a dehumidifier under the desk in the room. The digital readout read, “Current humidity: 85%”. I don’t doubt it. Once I turned the dehumidifier on, we left it on for the remainder of our stay. It did help IMMENSELY but we had to empty the bucket in the dehumidifier down the shower drain about twice a day, so it was an ongoing process. We also noticed a dehumidifier in the hallway so humidity is apparently an issue there as well. SUMMARY – Overall, we were happy with our stay. The amenities are nice and the price isn’t bad, considering the prices of other hotels in the same vicinity. Parking isn’t ideal and neither is the flooding. And as long as you don’t mind keeping up with the dehumidifier, the room is pleasant to stay in. There aren’t a lot of bells and whistles, but there’s not a lot that seems lacking either.

GGuest UserI will start with the most important reason for the low rating. The hotel is not clean. We had to wear shoes in our room because it had not been swept. The building next door is under construction and work starts at 7am sharp - no sleeping in if your balcony faces that side. Speaking of the balcony, when it rained, water came in from under the door. To help lessen the strong musty smell we had to keep the A/C super cold. There were mosquitos in the room both alive and smeared on the walls - see photos. The bed skirts have not been laundered in a long time. The hallways made me think of a mid-century sanitarium. I told the front desk there was a water leak going down the hall, so they put up a wet floor sign. As the the water continued to flow, the decided to toss a pile of towels on it. The breakfast area was treated by the exterminator during meal time...nope, not ok. Also the breakfast selections were sub-par, nothing fresh. Also they didn't turn on the A/C during the week. The lobby area is a hot mosquito playground. The side door to the courtyard is left open with a mosquito lamp inside the lobby, thus inviting them inside. Make sure stock up on what you may need. While the hotel had water and soda, the vending machines are out of order and appear to be so for quite some time. And they did not have laundry detergent as posted in the laundry area. I did a medium size load that took 2 cycles in the dryer totaling $6. Taking the elevator is a scary experience. If it comes when you push the button. It doesn't always stop evenly with the floor. So be prepared to step up or down when the door opens. And it stops with such a jolt that it actually loosened my hair clip. As stated, on their website, the pool pictured is not at the hotel. And the ”beach club” is about 2 blocks away and is on the water, but the water is not accessible. It is for sunbathing only. The photo of the beach on their website, is not related to the beach club they offer. When we decided to take the long walk to the beach, they didn't have any beach towels available. I would not recommend this hotel, regardless of price.

SSeñor GringoGreat, convenient location if U want to explore Santurce/Miramar by just walking. 4 blocks away is Ciudadela which has a 24 hr Pueblo, Planet Fitness, & Mercado La Carreta cafe. Directly across for Ciudadela is a food truck food court called Lote 23 (very tasty, interesting mix). Also don't miss Abracadaba brunch & local coffee spot 787 Coffee. Also couple of good Mex restaurants on Ave José de Diego. U can use this same road to walk to Condado beach 🏖️ area, approx 15 minutes. There are also electric 🛴 on the sidewalks for rent. Right next to hotel just down hill is La Casona (beautiful garden restaurant & fine dining). Just across street from this,on Avenida Juncos, is Burrillos Santurce; a really tasty & very good prices casual Mex 🌯 spot (order at counter & sit). 3 min walk.... Even though location is excellent, the hotel itself is definitely budget. No significant amenities, small rooms & even smaller bathrooms. Water pressure on low side. Rooms have flat panels & cable (didn't use though). AC as much nicer, quiet split type units, worked very well. Small rooms also much easier & quicker to cool. Kinda old, outdated & funky (but also a lot of character), but if U just need a functional place to crash, the room prices are very very good! $65-80/night vs $400 ?!? Also has 1 self serve laundry wash n dry machines. In lobby is a small cafe-type seating area. Free wifi, but kinda slow. Depending on room location, there can be noise issues. Rooms directly above the Asia di Lima restaurant's exhaust fan (on Calle San Jorge side) should keep windows closed btwn 4-11pm to minimize cooking exhaust odors. Anyway... would definitely stay here again; especially if the room rates ate below $80/day. And don't really need a lot of fluff; not on vacation to hang out in tiny room or hotel property. If U want the resort experience... Caribé Hilton, Vanderbilt, La Concha, or Sonesta or El San Juan in Isla Verde... but you're paying $300-800/night !! If U stay here, don't be shy! Get out & walk around as much as possible... you'll be surprised by all the off-the-beaten path cool stuff you'll find. A much more authentic 🇵🇷 experience!

GGuest UserThe Hotel is beautiful and for the price of a basic room, we had a view of the beautiful lagoon, with a balcony and privacy. The only thing they should consider is parking because we had to pay $20 a day :-(. Paseo Caribe offers a quiet and safe area, has security guards, and you can walk quietly around the area. You have nearby restaurants, steps from the Caribe Hilton Hotel, and steps to the Escambron area where the beach is beautiful and the day and night walk is beautiful. If you are looking to stay in this area without paying so much, this is a good option. The price they put is not that, the rate is lower. I paid $ 116 per night and my room was the Executive Room. They comply with health regulations, have staff checking the temperature, and the use of a mask. It offers many areas to walk, enjoy as a family or as a couple, and despite the Covid-19 they offer different ways to be able to walk and enjoy a beautiful tourist area [Fortín de San Jerónimo del Boquerón] Spacious room and the bathroom was huge as well!
