Clean, safe hotel in location convenient to the airport. Great for a quick stopover just to sleep. Beds are hard and pillows not so comfortable for my taste but it’s an inexpensive option that we will likely use again when passing through San Juan on a late flight. We got in at three in the morning and they were gracious and able to accommodate at that hour.

All of the ambience and none of the charm of a CIA Black Ops cell. No WiFi during our stay. No hot water. Drunken brawling and heaving both inside the building and in the alley leading to the beach went on at high volume through the night. No services to speak of. A horror show from start to finish.

I was apprehensive since we were traveling all day, getting in at 1 AM. We took a cab from the airport which took about 12-14 minutes, and cost $18 with 2 bags. We were met right away, checked in with no problem and given room #209. The wife and I went up the stairs to the second floor, I mention this because you need to be careful doing this with luggage, but I don't think this could be structurally changed, just take your time. We turned left at the top of the stairs and we were in the first room. We entered into a large living space which had a futon couch, TV, table with 4 chairs, refrigerator, microwave, and sink. The room had its own air conditioner, which worked great, as did the bedroom air. It had a tiled floor, and the room was spotless. The bedroom was roomy, with 2 queen beds, which we found comfortable. It had all we needed, and everything worked. There is a room safe which looks new, like the cruise ships have, but a bit bigger. The bathroom is basic, no blow dryer, but had what we needed, and everything worked, all was clean. We live in the desert, so our plans were to go to the beach every day. It is about a 10 minute walk. Once there, turn left and go about 100 yards and you will see some guys who will rent lounge chairs for $5 and umbrellas for $15. There were enough trees so we never needed an umbrella. Just get a couple towels from the desk, and go. There are many places to eat within a 10-15 minute walk, take a walk to the CVS, you will pass by a bunch of places, and the CVS is huge and good for room snacks and drinks. You can grab some food and eat around the pool, which we were in every day. The pool was also in good shape. You will get a room key, not a card, everyone was friendly. Being half the price of the hotels down the block, we felt we received good value. We stayed 4 nights, and would not hesitate to stay again.

The accommodations are in a charming and spotless apartment , exuding elegance and cheer. It's situated in the more modest "barrio Obrero" neighborhood, home to local workers and retirees. This quiet block is not far from the beach, but on the "other side" of the highway.

Outstanding
GGuest UserIts a very clean hotel with many places to eat within walking distance as well as a movie theater, grocery store, and pharmacy down the street. It has a nice restaurant and rooftop pool that is very relaxing. The room was clean and had an ice maker, large sink and refrigerator. The only things I would improve are the lighting in the rooms - its somewhat dim if you need to do some work - they only have lamps and one small accent light in the ceiling - at least in the room I was in. The bathroom sink in my room was very small- couldn't hold toothbrush, razor, etc on it like most sinks. Those are small inconveniences - overall it's a very nice place to stay, the staff is very friendly and helpful and the location was great.
兔兔兔猴Ctrip is also enough. Originally, I had already set a room on Booking. I saw that Ctrip was a lot cheaper, and I retired the Booking. However, the so-called sea view room that was given to the store through Ctrip is a room in a room, and the TV wall of the other room is the bedside of our room. The TV and other sounds in the next room are clearly heard, which seriously affects sleep. The next day, I can only change the room. It is not the balcony room with sea view. I had tossed for a long time before and after changing rooms, and I was still in a bad mood. At the same time, the check-out also received a 142 knife ”Hotel Tax”. This tax order is not available, can you return it?
CCulture63106883009We enjoyed our stay at Fortaleza suites and would recommend the hotel. The A/C was a bit noisy, but we had a nice, spacious room with a great location right in Old San Juan. Our room was called the ”Fortaleza Suite Room” and was a nice, clean, big space with tall ceilings. Beds were comfortable. A/C worked well but was noisy (see below). Bathroom: nicely appointed but a little dark. Shower worked well. There was a notice to put toilet paper in a trash can vs. flushing it. Noise: I was concerned about noise from the street at night. We were there on a Monday night and there was no issue with street noise that night. There was some noise (vehicles, talking) from the street in the early morning. The A/C unit would turn on quite noisily at regular intervals; it could wake you up if you are not a heavy sleeper. Arrival Logistics: The hotel communicates well via text/email. We were able to store our bags until our room was available. There is a very small alley a couple doors past the hotel, as you drive down the one way street. We used that alley to park quickly as we unloaded bags upon arrival - before driving to an offsite parking lot. They recommended the Galeria Paseo Portuario parking garage nearby (I think it was $13 for 24 hours) and also noted the La Puntilla parking lot ($3 to $5 for overnight parking) further away. We used La Puntilla. It was a short walk - towing a rolling suitcase. It would be a long walk if carrying (vs. rolling) a heavy bag. Finding a free space in La Puntilla took some time/effort.
GGuest UserThe hotel is in a very central location in the old town, you can walk anywhere. Very local, and the service is very helpful. The hotel environment is incomparable to that of well-known local hotels. After all, in the old town. It is recommended to stay in this hotel for 1-2 days. Play in the old town. Then go to the hotel to stay for a few days and then play other items.
GGuest UserMore of a 4.5 out of 5 but I didn't have that option. The hotel was very pretty, great lobby ( mixed emotions about the caged birds but I don't know their story so---) , great bar, friendly service, good food options although way over priced and just ok, not amazing. Although the Puerto Rican restaurant on the property Mojitos had great drinks and the friendliest service. We preferred eating here over the other on property restaurants but still over priced. I suggest eating every meal off property. Now that we know there isnt anything special about the on property restaurants, thats what we'll do next time. Getting an Uber is very easy and you're a very short ride from a huge number of restaurants. I posted some Google reviews of our dining experiences but i'll post some here, too. The hotel location is great, right on the beach and 10 minutes from Old San Juan. We had a beautiful view of the beach, ocean and amenities from our room. Loved the little balcony. I think most, if not all rooms have a balcony. The elevators were very fast, we were in the 9th floor. This may not be a big deal but even though those days are over for me , i remember long waits at slow elevators with wet, tired little ones, not fun. The time of year we went was perfect (late August) after thr high season, so no huge crowds. We were able to enjoy the hammock ”park” on the property and find chairs on the beach in a great spot. Speaking if the beach, if you're looking for waves you're not really going to get them. There's a man made rock border to prevent what looked like could be some pretty intense waves were in not for that barrier. The beach is kind of a calm bay but it's nice. A beautiful blue and watching the waves crash against the rocks is a great sight to see. Exploring Old San Juan was awesome. The beautiful colors, the architecture, the history, the narrow streets, it really takes you on a journey. Great shopping and besides the touristy t shirt places, there were plenty of great artisan shops. Old San Juan is still recovering from hurricane Maria (I know - it's crazy) so there are lots of streets undergoing road construction and some businesses that are shuttered but the construction doesn't get in the way and there are a shops and restaurants galore. The construction does mean sometimes you have to maneuver to avoid closed sidewalks and may be walking under scaffolds but sort of like any major city undergoing construction because of growth, not disaster. We visited two of Old San Juan's forts (look like castles) Castillo San Cristobal & Puerta de San Juan. You get two great walks through old San Juan to both of them. All uphill to Puerta de San Juan bur a good uphill, not so strenuous that you don't enjoy the actual walk. It was pretty hot so luckily, there were plenty of places to choose from if you want to stop and have a refreshment or lunch. It's pretty easy to get turned around on the narrow, intersecting streets but just keep your tourist map handy. T
GGuest UserOne of the reason we booked your hotel is that we called the customer service and they told us you could keep our luggage for more than one day. However, you didn’t do that. We have four 28 inch suitcases and we need to find another place to keep them even though we have reservation again after two days. That was a terrible experience!
SSkylaGAhhh where to start? I had an amazing time at this hostel. I was always greeted in such a friendly way, and the rooms were always cleaned and well maintained by the excellent housekeeper, Edwin. He was so kind and gave great recommendations, and kept the bathroom and room very well maintained and clean. Dinelys and Nina were both so helpful and welcoming, especially since it was my first time in a hostel. I enjoyed my first time so much that I came back for another 4 nights a few days later! And thank God I did, i met some incredible people on my return visit! The rooftop is wonderful, and I felt very at home. The beach is a quick 6-10 minute walk away, and there’s plenty of food and shops around. Will absolutely stay again the next time I’m in San Juan! 🤍🤍
886miriangWe found ourselves here during our trip after our original hotel canceled our reservation, and it turned out to be a real blessing in disguise! Right from the moment we arrived, the lovely young woman at the front desk made us feel right at home with her warm welcome. Checking in was a breeze, and we were thrilled to find our room on the third floor, complete with a charming balcony. The rooftop area, featuring a small pool, was such a refreshing spot to cool down on those hot, sunny days! Looking back, I’m actually glad I didn’t read the reviews before our visit because we enjoyed clean rooms and saw that our room was tidied up daily. Plus, the location couldn’t be better! It’s within walking distance to so many attractions in beautiful old San Juan, making it super convenient for exploring.
GGuest UserHere’s a brief summary of our family’s stay at Comfort Inn, San Juan for five days in August 2022. The GOOD – Location: It’s a 5-7 minute walk to the beach and the hotel offers complimentary beach towels, sun umbrellas, and lounge chairs for your use. There’s also a Cartier store at the end of the block, so you’re in a decent part of town, and there are quite a few restaurants within walking distance; Rooms: Our room was clean and bright. It looks like it had been renovated in the not-too-distant past. Good water pressure, nice TV, clean linen, small fridge, microwave, and coffee maker; Breakfast: There are some nice options included in the breakfast. Hot items (cheese omelets, bacon, sausage, country potatoes), cereal, make-it-yourself waffles, pastries, fresh fruit (bananas, apples, clementine oranges), yogurt, and a variety of juices; Hotel pool: It’s small but very nice. In addition to the pool, there’s also a hot tub for the adults and a kids’ wading pool. Lots of lounge chairs and towels. Fitness center: It has nice equipment and is in good condition, located by the pool; Housekeeping staff: We interacted with several members of the housekeeping staff and they were all extremely helpful and friendly. High marks in that department! The BAD – Parking: Technically, there is a parking lot at the hotel but it only holds about eight cars, at best. Beyond that, you’ll need to park in a garage down the street for about $20/night. The hotel was in the process of repaving the parking lot while we were there but I don’t think it will result in adding any additional spaces; Flooding: The street on two sides of the hotel flooded to a depth of about 8 inches twice during the five days we were there. Not sure what causes it, but it’s apparently an ongoing issue. If you want to get past the flooding, you have to get creative on how to access the front door. Not impossible, but also not ideal. The DEHUMIDIFIER – The first night we were there, we woke up in the morning to find that the floor in our room was WET. Not damp, but WET. As in, a “Maybe we should go look for a mop” kind of wet. It was at that point that we noticed a dehumidifier under the desk in the room. The digital readout read, “Current humidity: 85%”. I don’t doubt it. Once I turned the dehumidifier on, we left it on for the remainder of our stay. It did help IMMENSELY but we had to empty the bucket in the dehumidifier down the shower drain about twice a day, so it was an ongoing process. We also noticed a dehumidifier in the hallway so humidity is apparently an issue there as well. SUMMARY – Overall, we were happy with our stay. The amenities are nice and the price isn’t bad, considering the prices of other hotels in the same vicinity. Parking isn’t ideal and neither is the flooding. And as long as you don’t mind keeping up with the dehumidifier, the room is pleasant to stay in. There aren’t a lot of bells and whistles, but there’s not a lot that seems lacking either.
GGuest UserThe Hotel is beautiful and for the price of a basic room, we had a view of the beautiful lagoon, with a balcony and privacy. The only thing they should consider is parking because we had to pay $20 a day :-(. Paseo Caribe offers a quiet and safe area, has security guards, and you can walk quietly around the area. You have nearby restaurants, steps from the Caribe Hilton Hotel, and steps to the Escambron area where the beach is beautiful and the day and night walk is beautiful. If you are looking to stay in this area without paying so much, this is a good option. The price they put is not that, the rate is lower. I paid $ 116 per night and my room was the Executive Room. They comply with health regulations, have staff checking the temperature, and the use of a mask. It offers many areas to walk, enjoy as a family or as a couple, and despite the Covid-19 they offer different ways to be able to walk and enjoy a beautiful tourist area [Fortín de San Jerónimo del Boquerón] Spacious room and the bathroom was huge as well!
