Villa Santa Mónica

We just returned from our second stay at Villa Santa Monica in San Miguel de Allende, and it's honestly the best place we've ever stayed. We were there for nearly a week, and the experience is simply impossible to replicate at a conventional hotel or Airbnb. The tranquility is unmatched — our room was incredibly quiet, super magical, and came with its own private rooftop. The lush courtyard and gardens create this peaceful oasis right in the heart of town. The staff is what truly sets it apart. Every single person is warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. Gabriela, Adán, Lucrita, Lulu, and the entire team made us feel like family. When they found out it was my birthday, they surprised me at the entryway after dinner with a piece of pie, a candle, and sang to me. It was such a special, personal touch. The food is outstanding too — the chilaquiles, chicken mole, guacamole, and their margaritas are all incredible. We can’t wait to go back for our third stay this Christmas. Wonderful boutique hotel bordering to the town park. It was one of the best stays ever and the staff there are outstanding! So nice! The food was fantastic and we wish we did not have to leave. Incredible atmosphere and service! One of the best ever!

A lovely place! The rooms have so much personality. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. Breakfast in the courtyard is delicious and peaceful way to start your day in San Miguel.

Clean room. Very spacious and elegantly appointed. I must say that Lulu and the whole staff were fantastic.

Wonderful place with excellent staff and food. Ask for a room away from the street! Front rooms are 5 feet from the street and so noisy, it is impossible to sleep.

This hotel has gorgeous grounds and a courtyard that is very well maintained. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We enjoyed several nights in the courtyard in front of the fire. It's a nice location, beside the park, however, it is an uphill walk to the plaza. We enjoyed our stay; however, we would not return to this hotel. They do not have heat. We were given a small space heater, but it wasn't enough to warm the room. The rooms do have fireplaces but be ready to have the smoke smell in your room for days if you use it. We were freezing most of the stay. We switched rooms upon arrival. Our original garden view was of a walkway, so we really couldn't open our curtains without people walking directly in front of our windows. The second room (Don Ignacio) was right off the dining area and much brighter, however, our patio was about 10'x10' with a tiny table and 2 tiny chairs. A family member was in room Dona Susana and it was a very nice room with a great patio. We didn't eat there so can't comment on the food. The staff was wonderful, however, for the amount we paid we expected nicer accommodations.

This is a beautiful boutique hotel. Our only complaint was that, our room was next to the main road and was very noisy. It was as if the cars were passing through the room.

The hotel is beautiful - with lovely gardens and a courtyard. Our rooms were also lovely with cozy seating areas, fireplaces and large bathrooms. Breakfast was delicious as well. I cannot say enough about the service of the front desk, wait staff and cleaning people. They thoughtfully took care of all our requests - lighting fires in our room, dinner reservations, arranging drivers for day trips etc etc. we would highly recommend. The location is also perfect for a stay in San Migual de Allende.
