Hotel Cumbres is one of those rare gems you'll be delighted to discover. It’s a 4-star hotel that feels like a 5-star experience. The rooms are comfortable and beautifully decorated, and the hotel offers excellent common areas. They also maintain and respect the local fauna. Additionally, the hotel is self-sustaining and has its own water treatment plant. It’s perfect for families and solo travelers alike

Amazing interior design, especially the bathroom with its outside shower. Breakfast buffet was extensive and food tasty. Staff very friendly and helpful with organizing tours. Pool area and style of restaurant not so inviting compared to the other public areas.

Cumbres is a very nice hotel, well-located, with cosy facilities, excellent food, and friendly personnel. Probably one of the best if you do not want the tours included in your stay. Only two thing bothered me: 1. Costumer service through e-mail does not work during weekends; 2. If you hire tours other than the hotel's, they have the unpleasant routine of asking the tour guide where we were without consulting us. First I felt this was for safety reasons, but as they started asking this after we had arrived from a tour, I began to think this might have to do with others things.

The Cumbres San Pedro has been awarded 4 stars and quite rightly so! It offers nicely fitted and spacious rooms with a large bathroom and even an outdoor shower plus a private patio. It has a number of pools, a huge lounge with a bar, a restaurant and a downtown shuttle service. And they can arrange for excursions to the desert and the salt lagunas. Nevertheless I did not like it that much... We had a friendly welcome but the promised "particularly nice room" no. 1001 turned out to be at the very end of a long-stretched building complex. And this meant not just an easy stroll from the bungalow to the restaurant and parking (or double the distance to the pool at the other far end) but rather a long walk along an uneven dusty path. The staff was friendly but most of them did not or preferred not to speak English - even at the tour desk. We liked the lounge with the tricolor cat and we liked the pisco sours and empanadas from the bar but we did not like the way tables were arranged in the restaurant. The hotel is quite obviously popular with groups and seemingly less interested in individual travelers. So as a couple you may have to speak out clearly if you don't want to end up at an inconveniently positioned table squeezed in between noisy tour groups - whether for breakfast or for dinner... The food quality is average and - again - reflects the fact that most of the guests come as part of a group and do not stay longer than two nights. While I rate this Cumbres higher than the sister hotel in Lastarria Santiago we had a déjà vu experience: Again we found a platter with charcuterie and a bottle of wine in the room when returning from a 3-course dinner at the hotel restaurant. Thanks for this nice gesture (and the good intentions) but please inform your guests in advance to avoid a waste of food! On our last day we got to know our neighbours from 1002 and 1003 - individual travelers like us - and we had a good laugh wondering whether Germans are put in the "faraway" rooms because of their reputation as tough hikers... Hello to Steven Mark and Silvia Gerda, Florian Bernd and Susanne Marianne from Anita Juliane and Hermann Eugen!

On the outskirts of San Pedro. They have a coach which will take you and to the town. They have a whatsapp number you can message to book this as well as ask for anything else. The room was lovely. You have to understand in San Pedro that they just do not have high rise buildings and the buildings are simple in design. The hotel was very comfortable. We had a lovely bathroom and an outdoor shower which was a treat! My advice is to enforce a no shoe policy in the room as it will soon get dusty from your shoes if you don't! We had a little outside area which was peaceful and nice to see some nature. The gym is not well equipped - the machines were not plugged in. They only had 2 x 5kg dumbbells. A good chance to do some weights! The pools were nice enough and the hot tub nice but did not have bubbles in the one we went into. They have trips available to book but we did not go on these. Breakfast was ok - an ok selection of items and no a la carte. Our only annoyance was when purchasing a drink from the bar they would not add it on to the room bill and you had to pay for it there and then. It just means we would have been charged a few times for the foreign transaction fee. We have never seen this practice before anywhere else in the world.

We have found the service to be extremely poor. Noone to welcome us at the door. No assistance with our bags - my husband had to carry them all a big distance from the car so they didn’t get dirty. At reception we had to wait a very long time to be served. No welcome from reception staff- two females surly and unwelcoming. No welcome drink. Then had to wait and wait some more for our room. There seemed to be only one very overstretched staff member on service across hotel - bar, pool, pool bar and room service. Not enough staff. In room, room nice enough and matches photos. Comfy bed and nice outdoor patio. But shower head broken, so only good for short people. At pool, water murky and film if sun teen visible on top. Very loud generator right beside pool and spa. Just very poor really. For the price you expect better

Amazing experience, all was great: facilities, room, service! Cannot recommend highly enough for a great San Pedro experience. The rooms are very comfy and spacious, and the beds great. The reception staff are just amazing, incredibly helpful and friendly.

Good points: - The hotel itself is lovely - we loved the rooms and the decor in the common areas. - massage at the spa was fab! - our receptionist who checked us in was so friendly Bad points: - if you are vegan they say they have options but they weren’t available especially for dinner. We complained as we booked dinner and couldn’t get anything to eat, which was frustrating after messaging the hotel and emailing the chef - some of the staff are very unfriendly - particularly one waitress who told us she couldn’t help us as ‘there was a big group dining in’ Overall I don’t think this was worth the money. For a luxury hotel they should really look after ALL guests, not just big groups and those without dietary requirements

The hotel is in a great location outside of town. It has some beautiful peaceful areas. It was a great introduction to Chile. Unfortunately some of the staff are prone to errors although the manager did rectify things which I was impressed with. You need to speak Spanish at this hotel as many will not understand English which can prove very frustrating. The pool area is lovely and it's possible to order beers via WhatsApp. For excursions you need to wait in reception until called. Breakfast is very good with delicious omelettes and eggs. Dinner was good apart from an administrative cock up. Always double check everything.

Once you get over the dry atmosphere and the dust everywhere you will find this a fantastic place to stay. We visited in their winter so it was cold. Actually colder than we thought. But we fell in love with the area and the staff was outstanding. I special shout out to our tour guide from the hotel. Sebastian! He was wonderful. The rooms were nice with outside sitting areas, coffee machine and an outside shower. We could adjust the temperature in our room which was a blessing . The location was a bit of the city center but it was easy to get a taxi or take the free on demand shuttle bus that starts after I think 1pm. One morning we did walk home from the city center to the hotel, about a 25 minute walk, but the dust was a bit much at times. We found the food perfect. Large breakfast spread and nice lunch or dinner options. We booked an all inclusive package so even my wine was free. Hard alcohol had a separate cost but we found the pricing to be exceptionally fair. It was too cold for us to swim but he 5 pools were open. Two of them were indeed hot tubs! The star gazing at night was spectacular. Especially to see the infamous Southern Cross. We were so lucky to have a full moon rising upon our return from visiting the flamingos. A rare sighting indeed. We did almost all of the tours offered at the hotel and loved them all. Especially the waterfall tour. A bit arduous but short climb. My only real complaint is that the hotel should offer extra blankets for seeing the geysers in the morning. We thought it would be cold and had clothing for about 32 Fahrenheit but when we visited it was -10 Fahrenheit and a wind blowing. So we staying in the van. The van is not heated behind the driver’s seat and the ride is almost 90 minutes. So dress warmly!!!!! This is for us a once in a life time visit and we were not disappointed.

Beautifully decorated rooms in a traditional style. Our twin room had great beds and both an indoor and outdoor shower. There was an added bonus of a nespresso coffee machine in the room which was a nice touch. Great aircon and a lovely terrace made for a comfortable stay. Used the pool area for a few hours and this area is particularly well laid out and the spa looked relaxing although we didn't use it. We booked on a half board basis and I think is good value and.convenient as town is 20 mins walk away. There is a limited shuttle service during the day and I believe they offer a bike service. Overall a pleasant stay.
