Good in general, but too expensive

Convenient place, very close to the beach.

Good hotel, I had a good night's sleep

This was a first time stay with this chain and it was a wonddrful experience. Our guest arrived hours before we did and my email request to give her access to her room was granted. The rooms are spacious, immaculate and well appointed. The hotel is within easy walking distance to the beach. The parking garage was full but street parking was easy to find within a few blocks for 3.85 euros for 24 hours starting at 8 am. The buffet breakfast was fine. I definitely recommend this very nice hotel.

Worst stay in 10 years of travelling around the world. Do not waste your money, time or energy. Having booked a 9 night stay for a well earned summer holiday we were tricked into expecting a 4* hotel, standards and service. We have received none of the above and in contrast I’ve stayed in 2* in my student days that were better than this. A tiny room with no storage except a small cupboard with 4 hangers. 2 twin beds shoved together and no basic facilities to make a comfortable stay at a 4*. They say the rooms are soundproofed- don’t believe them. We can hear everything from the rooms around us and it’s noisy! To top it off the staff are unfriendly and robotic. It’s like they’ve never been told about the importance of customer service for guests. Having spent 3 of the 9 nights here- we have been forced to find alternative accommodation to actually enjoy the rest of our holiday. The staff are completely unconcerned about the unhappiness and dissatisfaction of their guests and just say “No” to everything. I will never stay at Hotel Ilunion again and I’ll ensure all my network are also aware to not make the same mistake.

We booked on the basis of advertised good room size and soundproofing. We got neither. The room we had was very small and very noisy. It felt like we were in a shoe box with a corridor on 2 sides. We could hear people within inches of our heads when in bed. Very disappointed and left earlier then planned.

Good location for the beach- 25 minutes walk into old town or take the bus. Nice reception area to sit in. Breakfast was good however it does get busy. Room was a good size and clean although did overlook a building and walkway at the back. Lunch was good value and service was good.

Very disappointing. They did not have umbrellas and were unapologetic about that. If you don't reserve parking in advance they give you a map of where you can drive to park even though there is free weekend parking around the corner. The breakfast that they upcharge you on at check-in was less than impressive. They charged us for each day we were there because we accepted it for the first day. We did ask them to remove two days and they obliged but if we had not reviewed the bill it would have been easy to miss. The best part of the stay was the wonderful bartender in the hotel restaurant, I would say he stood out more than anyone. I did not get his name but he was training a new young bartender on our last day there.

Located in a quiet part of the city, we found the location perfect. Good places to eat nearby, but most importantly: only a short stroll to the marvellous beach. The hotel is a 30 min walk along La Concha to the train station, so we took a taxi to get there (ca 10 euros).

I loved my visit to beautiful San Sebastian. I was originally in Room 219 but moved to Room 209 on the other side of the building due to traffic noise in my original room. Room 209 was so quiet and had a lovely view over the gardens. It was a beautiful area and a short walk to Matia Kalea which had so many beautiful tapas and wine options. It was much quieter than the tapas bars in the old town which were very crowded. Breakfast was delicious. The staff were very friendly and Aimar in particular, was very helpful. It was a beautiful 20 minute walk to the old town along the beach but there was also the option of a bus which stopped immediately outside the hotel. I will definitely return for my next visit.

What a modern hotel. Let’s start with the parking, there are only 20 places, so book ahead as street parking is not really an option. Parking €20 per day. Reception courteous. Rooms great with ample charging plugs and each has 2 USB’s. Shower is large and bathroom facilities great, no bath. In house restaurant that serves a 3 course meal for €22. Location excellent with a less than 10 minute walk to the promenade. Shopping of a supermarket close by. Bus stops very close to, so leave your car parked and take one of two buses to the boulevard. Great place to, great location.

we stayed at this hotel for my wife's birthday last week. great location. 3 mins walk to the beach and lots of local shops, the hotel was very very clean and staff very good, would definately return when next in spain
