The accommodation exceeded our expectations. Flopsy was designed and laid out really well, and all done out to a very high standard. The double bed was a decent, surprisingly generous, size and extremely comfortable too. The shower was also a good size and really powerful. The log burner kept the hut really warm, we actually had to open windows one night to cool down! We stayed with our Springer Spaniel who loved it too. It was great that the site area the four huts are located on is fenced and gated so he could explore without wandering off. There was a powerful hose on site which was handy to hose the dog down after a trip to Boltby Forest, which I must say was superb for a long, off the lead walk. There was a lovely outside seating area for each hut with a fire pit. Being Feb we didn’t use it. Would highly recommend booking a trip to Morndyke, you won’t regret it!!

This is our second stay at Morndyke Huts The huts are centrally located just outside Thirsk We stayed in Cottontail on our first visit and Mopsy this time. The hut are a good size with a long list of items available. on both visits Wifi was a little patchy - but understandably this time due to the TV transmitter issue - well documented in the press. You have so many options for places to Visit - Fountains Abbey, Sutton Bank visitor centre and mount grace priory just a hop skip and jump away. We stayed over Crimbo 2020 and this time for Halloween - decorating the hut as we do to make it supper cozy. our only slight reservation this time is the list of added extra's which were all included 1st time around - we would prefer an all inclusive rate and an economy rate offered by the superb and helpful team at Morndyke The hut is still in out Top 10 for a visit

This is our 3rd stay here, in Cottontail and it won't be our last... We previously stayed in June and July, with lovely weather where we could sit out at night, this time the weather wasn't so great and gets dark earlier, but it was so lovely and cosy with the log burner lit inside, ( it's made me want a log burner at home now...) Hubby enjoyed the fishing, I sat watching him the first afternoon and read a book from the hut, written by Tricia the owner, 'Musings from Morndyke' such a good read, I laughed out loud a few times. (Had to be careful not to scare the fish!) We ate at Jaipur Spice the first evening, it was banquet night, we definitely recommend, great food and lovely friendly staff. A drive but we walked ( the route is in the info book in the hut..) We were treat to a lovely sunset on the walk back. As we couldn't sit out we watched a couple of films on DVD (great selection provided under the bed storage area...) the TV mast at Bilsdale burnt down so no normal TV which wasn't a problem, it was good to get away from the news channels! As it was raining next day we had a ride out to Northallerton and Thisk, browsed round the shops then back to Morndyke, the rain stopped and hubby did more fishing. We ate in that night. The hut has everything you need, so well equipped and so well designed. Lots of lovely finishing touches. Everything is top quality too, including the bedding. The little shop is well equipped, in case you run out of anything, hubby recommends the Billionaires Yorkshire flapjack. It was lovely to sit eating our breakfast over looking the Hambleton Hills, fantastic views of the lovely area. Tricia and Alan are lovely people, the whole place is a credit to them. Thankyou, we will be back Xx

Wonderful stay with my friend at our 2 dogs, great facilities if you have dogs and very secure for them. It is worth noting that you can not pull your car directly up to the hut to unpack and pack, but it is only a very short walk. Lots of nice walks and secure places for dogs to have a run off the lead. Wildlife in the area is second to non. We walked into Thirsk from the huts and had a lovely lunch and such a pretty town. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be returning.

We had a lovely couple of nights in the Shepherd’s hut and Morndyke farm. Beautifully furnished and very cosy. Bed very comfortable! The area around the hut was very pleasant and private. Enjoyed a peaceful rest would highly recommend. Thank you

This was our first Glamping experience - aged 70 and 80! Hut was beautifully crafted and exactly as advertised with everything you’d need, just on a smaller scale. Beds comfy, (take great care if you climb up to the single bed), shower powerful and hot, tv and WiFi reception reliable. Location couldn’t be beaten. Views east over open countryside, birdsong, fragrant plantings near outdoor seating areas and wildflower area. Also, not far from some of our favourite walks - West Tanfield, Ripley, and Ripon canal. Also a great selection of pubs and restaurants within half an hour in any direction as we decided not to try the single plug-in hob or grill, as only there three nights. Only downside was nowhere to store our few clothes and groceries we brought as every cupboard and drawer was full of stuff - so clothes stayed unpacked in the shower cubicle and groceries on top of wall cupboard. Finally, I counted 13 soft toy animals dotted about. Cute but overkill I think, especially for somewhere that doesn’t allow children 17 and younger who might appreciate them more.
