This is our 3rd stay here, in Cottontail and it won't be our last... We previously stayed in June and July, with lovely weather where we could sit out at night, this time the weather wasn't so great and gets dark earlier, but it was so lovely and cosy with the log burner lit inside, ( it's made me want a log burner at home now...) Hubby enjoyed the fishing, I sat watching him the first afternoon and read a book from the hut, written by Tricia the owner, 'Musings from Morndyke' such a good read, I laughed out loud a few times. (Had to be careful not to scare the fish!) We ate at Jaipur Spice the first evening, it was banquet night, we definitely recommend, great food and lovely friendly staff. A drive but we walked ( the route is in the info book in the hut..) We were treat to a lovely sunset on the walk back. As we couldn't sit out we watched a couple of films on DVD (great selection provided under the bed storage area...) the TV mast at Bilsdale burnt down so no normal TV which wasn't a problem, it was good to get away from the news channels! As it was raining next day we had a ride out to Northallerton and Thisk, browsed round the shops then back to Morndyke, the rain stopped and hubby did more fishing. We ate in that night. The hut has everything you need, so well equipped and so well designed. Lots of lovely finishing touches. Everything is top quality too, including the bedding. The little shop is well equipped, in case you run out of anything, hubby recommends the Billionaires Yorkshire flapjack. It was lovely to sit eating our breakfast over looking the Hambleton Hills, fantastic views of the lovely area. Tricia and Alan are lovely people, the whole place is a credit to them. Thankyou, we will be back Xx
