We had a last minute booking for a weekend in Santa Cruz to visit the Boardwalk. We were looking for a family friendly hotel. The location is great, it is walking distance from the Boardwalk. The pictures of the outside of the hotel are definitely enhanced, in person the hotel looks dull and their sign is faded. We were on the second floor, upon entering the room it looks nice. I turned on the ac and it was struggling but eventually got temperature where we wanted. Two of the shutters were broken and forced to remain closed which kept the room darker than we like. The bathroom is terrible and the light in there is much too soft, it’s too dark. It wasn’t the bath, walls or floor alone. The entire bathroom needs to be redone. The carpet is also very dirty. It’s a dark blue, I believe with a pattern. There is a musty smell in the room. Again, you are paying for location but the bathroom and carpet made the room feel cheap. Walls are pretty thin, you can hear walking and we had people staying near our room that were slamming their door over and over. I’d stay there again for a quick trip if I was going for The Boardwalk.

We got a good welcome. Our room seems to be an accessible room. It is clean with comfy beds. Too chilly to check out the pool Be sure to get a window tag for parking

Great experience, clean older hotel, walking distance to wharf and beach. We stayed 2 nights and didnt have to drive anywhere. Walked to wharf, beach and the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Staff were courteous and even upgraded us for free to a indoor hot tub room .

Good room, spacious but everything pretty basic. The bed has a good matress and the single room had a pretty big kingsize bed. Bathroom is also basic and the showers water jet is not that good. Swimming ppol was looking good, not that big though. We couldn'( go for swimming as it was too cold. Next to that, very good location, closeby the pier and some places to eat. We enjoyed an nice even walk, enjoyed the superbowl in a restaurant and got back to the hotel. All in walking distance without too many distance.

This was my second time staying here, overall a good location and fine for a family. My first stay about 4 years ago was decent, though I did experience a staff member yelling at me over something I wasn’t related in. Amenities do reach the standards I expected based on price, and compared to my first stay, the staff were very pleasant.
