Kleines aber feines Hotel inmitten eines wunderschönen Gartens. Die Zimmer sind geräumig und ansprechend eingerichtet, vom Balkon blickt man über den Garten zum Bergpanorama. Alles ist sehr sauber. Das Frühstücksbuffet lässt keine Wünsche offen. Frische Brötchen, Toast, Käse, Aufschnitt, Joghurt, frische Säfte und Obstsalat. Rührei mit Beilagen, Tee und Kaffee, alles vom besten. Auch abends kann man im Hotel gut Speisen. Die Karte wechselt täglich und man hat die Auswahl zwischen Fleisch- und Fischmenue. Der Aufenthaltsraum und die Terrasse vorm Haus sind sehr ansprechend. Es gibt genügend Parkplätze am Haus und das Publikum des Hauses ist international und angenehm. Die nächtliche Ruhe ist sehr wohltuend. Das Personal ist fürsorglich und hilfreich. Von hier aus ist man in 20 Minuten in Funchal und in 15 Minuten in Machico.

Stayed here for 2 nights as part of a walking/ hiking holiday. Really, a great little place. Very quiet and relaxing. Bedrooms were clean and well equipped with a comfy bed - essential after a days hiking. Food was excellent with a menu changing daily - loved the ‘surprise’ dessert every night! Staff were all very pleasant and attentive with special mention to our evening dining room waitress ( sorry, didn’t get her name) who never stopped smiling! Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Immaculately clean, friendly service, a beautiful view of the mountains to the West, walking distance to Santo da Serra, a lovely flower scent in the hotel gardens . This hotel felt very genuine – and quite different to the mass tourist concentration of Funchal. We love Madeira – but will always try to have some days outside Funchal and this was a perfect spot.

The room was great, very nice and spacious as was the bathroom. Rustic wooden furniture and warm tones. The views from the terrace are beautiful to the mountains. Pretty good breakfast, a bit of everything.

Das Hotel wurde über die Agentur gebucht, über die ich meine Trekkingreise organisieren lies. Dieses alte Herrenhaus ist wunderschön und ruhig gelegen. Das Zimmer und Bad waren in gutem Zustand, ich war im Haupthaus einquartiert. Für Leute mit leichtem Schlaf wahrscheinlich zu hellhörig. Die Angestellten waren nett und hilfreich. Das zugebuchte Abendessen war exzellent, das Frühstück für meine Ansprüche sehr in Ordnung. Alles in allem zwei schöne Abende genossen.

Un joli petit cottage dans un jardin luxuriant, je le recommande pour son calme, sa table copieuse. Un personnel au petit soin. Un bon coin à visiter pour se ressourcer. Il faut faire attention pour le trouver, prendre la bonne route sinon le GPS vous fera tourner au rond.

We hebben hier een nachtje geslapen vanwege de locatie dichtbij het vliegveld. De Quinta is prachtig gelegen en natuurlijk een flinke klim omhoog. Huur sowieso dus een goede auto! Gastvrije ontvangst, we logeerden in 2 kleine huisjes methods gezin. Enkele dagen vooraf kregen we een voorstel voor een 5 gangen diner waar we gebruik van hebben gemaakt. Extra feestelijk mochten we in de woonkamer dineren en ontbijten. We hadden namelijk de hele Quinta voor onszelf! Op ons verzoek kregen we nummers van taxi’s en een vriendelijke chauffeur bracht ons naar Funchal voor de spectaculaire vuurwerkshow (31 dec). Vanuit de Quinta bezochten we de Sao Lourenco kust, Machico, we vonden het kleine plaatsje Santa Cruz het gezelligst. Overigens kregen we ook de mogelijkheid om heel laat uit te checken voor onze middagvlucht. Al met al, een kort verblijf waar we heel veel gedaan hebben en gastvrij zijn ontvangen.
