NH Lagos Algarve Resort

This hotel offered an excellent overall experience. The room was clean, tidy, and spacious, with a beautiful view outside the window, making for a very relaxing stay. The hotel pool was well-maintained with clean water, and the surrounding area was perfect for lounging and sunbathing. The breakfast selection was rich and varied, including hot dishes, fruit, bread, and drinks, all of which tasted great – I looked forward to it every morning. The bar drinks were also delicious; it was very pleasant to enjoy a drink at the hotel in the evening. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the check-in process was smooth. Overall, from facilities to environment to service, everything was satisfactory. It was a very pleasant stay.

This is a very well-maintained old hotel. The air conditioning in the room felt like an ancient relic, and the metal fixtures inside and near the bathroom were quite rusty. However, it's impeccably maintained, and the design details throughout are well thought out, making for a comfortable stay. The shower had stable water pressure, was easy to use, and provided plenty of hot water. Both the bathroom and the room were spacious and comfortable enough. Breakfast offered a decent variety, ensuring a good intake of protein, carbs, and vitamins. Overall, it's an excellent choice for those coming for hiking, who need easy access to food early in the morning and just want a hot shower and good rest in the evening. P.S. I also ate at the hotel restaurant once; it was just okay, neither good nor bad. The two hotels closer to the bus station are Marina Rio (established in 1990?) and Lagos Avenida (thunderously expensive). From what I saw, they don't seem as good as this one 🤔

Although it's an older hotel, the common areas are well-maintained, and the breakfast is excellent. The room and bathroom were comfortable and had everything I needed. The room's location (standard room) was a bit far from the breakfast restaurant and reception. It was the off-season, so there wasn't much else to do, which was a shame, but it was still good value for money.

The breakfast was pretty good, and while the facilities are a bit old, they're acceptable. The location is actually quite convenient with plenty of dining options nearby. The air conditioning worked fine. There were quite a few steps to get to the room, but it wasn't too bad. If the price is right, I'd recommend it.

The hotel is old and hasn't been renovated, so it feels quite dated. The location is a bit awkward; you can't see the sea, and it's a bit of a walk to the Old Town. Being close to the bus terminal is a plus. Breakfast offers a good variety and is decent. The layout is very complex, so it's easy to get separated from your travel companions.

NH hotel chain can be hit or miss. The location is excellent, right next to the Lagos bus station, and there's a Pingo Doce supermarket nearby. The terrible part was the room hygiene! The first room had a tiny bathroom. The showerhead was leaking, it looked like it had been taken apart and not properly tightened. Also, the pump dispenser for the shower gel was loose, and the gel had spilled all over the bottle and solidified. That image is hard to forget. The phone was also broken. Even the cleaning lady frowned when she saw it and asked if I wanted to switch rooms... I have no idea what that bathroom had been through. The new room we switched to; I got dizzy from the fresh paint smell after just two minutes. I asked about it, and apparently, it had been recently painted. I contacted the front desk, and they showed me two more rooms, from which I picked one. It took two hours to switch rooms. The final room was acceptable, and we could finally check-in normally. The hotel facilities and environment are good. Since it's built along a hill, it has several blocks, and you have to go up and down stairs and turn corners to get around inside the hotel, which made me feel a bit lost. The hotel staff were all very friendly and patient. To be fair, there were good and bad aspects. Please use this for your reference.
