Hotel Grand Reviews

We needed to stay somewhere close to the Sarajevo train station, and Hotel Grand is perfectly located just a short walk away (5-10 minutes). The staff was friendly and even prepared a small breakfast bag for us since we were leaving so early. However the room itself was rather bare-bones, and the shower drain was clearly clogged leading to a lot of flooding. There were exposed electrical wiring in the room and the hallways smelled a bit like an ashtray. Was okay for the money, but not really recommended.

Tl:dr The only upside of this hotel is its price. Check-in said 13:00 but when we arrived at the reception, the hotel staff told us that we could check-in after 15:00. They at least gave us a room which they said was ready and we could leave our luggage. But this room was 12m2 without AC. We were told that we could change our room for a 18 m2 with AC (which we selected and payed extra) the next day but that didn’t happen. The room wasn’t clean, there were long hairs on the floor of our room. Only one electrical plug which is away from where the beds are. We had booked 3 nights and had paid upfront. We wanted to cancel the 3rd night but again the hotel didnt let us cancel it, saying that the agency we made the booking from didn’t allow for refunds. We contacted Trip.com to shorten our stay but they also couldn’t help, they couldn’t contact the hotel. Also during breakfast the hotel staff was quite mean when we exceeded 10:00 am. Instead of a friendly reminder that the breakfast time was over, we got an annoyed hotel staff complaining to us.

For those with time to enjoy Sarajevo Grand Hotel offers all you need as well as a glimpse into one of the many 'Grand' hotels with fitting that encapsulate the former Yugoslavia. Breakfast although basic was within expectations for the price point. The 'Sarajevo 1984' Olympic colors on the chairs I thought were a nice nod to the past. The room was modest but included everything I needed as a solo traveller and was cleaned every couple of days. Lack of AC was the only thing that made the trip slightly less comfortable. There is a bar on a maisonette floor that serves drinks all day till around 11PM. The staff were courteous and helpful. For those who don't have a car, taxi can be ordered from the front desk or you can walk 5 minutes to the Railway Station and nearest Tram/Bus stops. The observation tower is nearby, the Ottoman city is around 30 minutes on foot. I would stay again. 👍

I thought the breakfast was the best part of my stay. It was very tasty. Checkin and checkout were easy and service was good. The location was convenient and not far from the bus terminal. While these are all positives, the hotel itself needs some updating with more modern designs and better amenities in the room. Heat did not work very well. Nor the hot water and this is important during winter time.

It is comfortable hotel with good breakfast.

I went there first times but It’s very nice place and staff are kind. Included breakfast. The meal is not bad but No soup. I stayed 6 days. (Cash 3days) later l’ll go there if I go Sarajevo.

Hotel dating from the Soviet era, with old-fashioned charm and which deserves to be seriously refreshed. Afterwards, the risk would be that it would lose this vintage “cold war style” atmosphere. My room was spacious but a little noisy because it was built at a time when insulation was of little importance. My reservation through trip.com was not on today's listing but it was arranged in 5 minutes. The surroundings of the hotel are abandoned but it is easy to park there. The breakfast is quite ordinary and the staff is on autopilot. However, at €35 per night, the experience was worth it.

The breakfast is rich, with many choices and good taste. Convenient transportation and free parking

A very good hotel, probably the closest to the central bus station, the breakfast is very rich and the price-performance ratio is very high!

The equipment is old. The stain on the carpet is still there. Wi-Fi sometimes cuts out. Breakfast uses a lot of oil. Orange juice and apple juice are diluted with water so it's thin. However, I was able to stay there without any problems, I was able to sleep, and there was a shower and toilet. Breakfast is included and I think this price is reasonable. I think I will use it if I have a chance to come to Sarajevo.
