For those with time to enjoy Sarajevo Grand Hotel offers all you need as well as a glimpse into one of the many 'Grand' hotels with fitting that encapsulate the former Yugoslavia. Breakfast although basic was within expectations for the price point. The 'Sarajevo 1984' Olympic colors on the chairs I thought were a nice nod to the past. The room was modest but included everything I needed as a solo traveller and was cleaned every couple of days. Lack of AC was the only thing that made the trip slightly less comfortable. There is a bar on a maisonette floor that serves drinks all day till around 11PM. The staff were courteous and helpful. For those who don't have a car, taxi can be ordered from the front desk or you can walk 5 minutes to the Railway Station and nearest Tram/Bus stops. The observation tower is nearby, the Ottoman city is around 30 minutes on foot. I would stay again. 👍

Very bad service, very friendly to foreigners! My reservation included breakfast, but the front desk said with a straight face that it was not available! I had to communicate with Ctrip to confirm the breakfast. The room was great! I was amazed when I arrived at the hotel on the first day. I took a bus from the station directly to the hotel. I could find the route by checking Google Maps. The suite was super big, with a hall, two toilets, and a big master bedroom. The restaurant had a microwave and an induction cooker. If I stayed for a few more days, I could cook for myself. The whole hotel was very quiet, the breakfast was rich, and the front desk service was also superb. It was the best experience in Sarajevo.

The hotel is generally clean, safe and very suitable for a comfortable holiday. The breakfast menu is quite good. Eating at the hotel restaurant is not expensive. All these are the positive aspects of the hotel. However, they keep your passport hostage at the reception and do not want to give it to you until you leave the hotel. I have no idea how they can cover any damage to the passport. and actually a great irresponsibility for the hotel. But they don't even care. Finally, it is very absurd that they ask for a fee at check-out for the water in the room.
