Casa Pepe

We thought this was in puerto Bayarta when we first booked it because that’s what it advertised but it turns out it was actually an hour away. That area is very safe a lot of things to do there, everyone in the area is nice and helpful when looking for good spots to eat every thing is within walking distance

From the moment I arrived, the hostel was amazing. The staff is super friendly—Astrid, Grecia, Enrique, Erick, Luis. Excellent service, great vibes in the place, super clean, and I love that they pay attention to every detail a traveler might need. The decor is fantastic. Every moment I spent at the hostel was incredible. Mornings started with yoga with Sarah, which was amazing and such a great way to start the day full of energy. The breakfast at their restaurant was delicious every morning, and in the afternoon, relaxing by the pool was wonderful. The staff organized activities like lotería, karaoke, and bar promotions. My experience here was a 10/10. I felt at home and it was hard to leave. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will definitely return to Sayulita and, of course, to Casa Pepe.

Wonderful staff and location in Sayulita! Breakfast included and wonderful rooftop pool and decks. Rooms were very much as described, with comfortable beds and lighting. Like a lot of lodging in Sayulita, can be a very noisy place in early morning due to traffic and roosters.

As of day 4 of my 9 night stay I remain unimpressed. This hotel could be so much better but overall I would not be staying again. In summary the only thing it has going for it is a comfortable bed and convenient location. Too far to be close and too close to be far from the noisy downtown core. In summary: The staff are generally indifferent, unprofessional and more or less a motely crew. The encounter with front desk agent was unfortunate. I had to use Google translate to get a simple " can I get another pillow in my room." request. The hotel is in disrepair and lackluster. For what I was charged expected much more based on other experiences. Problems as follows: Towel bars and shelves in bathroom practically falling off. Soap pump dispensers in shower broken. Room safe - key pad doesn't work. I had to practically beg for a key to it to only find out the safe is tiny and not attached to anything lol. It has barely enough room for a clutch bag and cell phones. Certainly not a laptop or tablet. Bathroom fan doesn't work at all. Mini bar fridge full of ice due to broken seal. TV channels all fuzzy. Not even one English or Sports channel. Bedside lamp doesn't work. I brought it to front for replacement they simply said no can't help me. I asked for ice one night and none to be found. I was told that but in reality nobody wanted to get some for me. (how can a hotel NOT have ice). Breakfast unremarkable. Small Pool was like a hot tub too hot and you can't cool off, and never saw anyone ever checking chemical counts. Water was fuzzy so didn't take any chances. And finally if you want a peaceful night's stay bring your earplugs. I have had to use them every night. They don't control 3 am disruptions very well. All the sound carries so if you are a light sleeper good luck. The beds are comfy, wifi is pretty good and decent coffee. That's all I can say that is positive. With a little training and basic maintenance this hotel could be much better but until then I won't be back.
