The Scarborough Grand Hotel it’s definitely worth a visit. It’s a magnificent hotel located above the beach that gives you amazing views of the coastline from the terrace.

Staffs were friendly, and services were good but the hotel is old and needs some repairs. However, the location is wonderful, and the hotel had arranged movies for kids, bingo night and a dance night show to entertain families, so we spent both evenings in the hotel. The movie and dance nights are free to attend, however, you have to pay for bingo. Overall, it was a reasonable place to visit with family. They had a full English breakfast, but I didn't enjoy it because I am Gluten-free.

Expected small room, fair for its price. Unfortunately, we booked a room with a window, but the window cannot be opened. Even if it could be opened, you wouldn’t want to, as there are bird nests outside, and the area around the window is covered in bird droppings. The window is also surrounded by white bird manure. Whether it’s day or night, you’ll constantly hear the chirping of birds since this is their habitat. The room itself was untidy, with bugs on the bed sheets, which were also covered in dust. Although the location is great, there are other hotel options nearby. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel, unless maye you choose a room without windows.

I'm quite disappointed, to be honest. Saw all the good reviews, expecting to be amazed. Unfortunately, the hotel itself is showing signs of age. For example, a lot of room doors are either dented or you can see cracks on the wood. The fans you find inside the cupboard - I turned the fan on, and dust was all over my face. The decor of the rooms is a bit outdated - I understand that the hotel is trying to keep its reputation with this particular choice of decor. However, I feel that repairing the often ageing furniture, doors and updating the general layout of the hotel might change things for the better. The WiFi is abysmal in the rooms it requires a payment - however WiFi in the common areas such as reception is good. Room definitely needs a good clean by the housekeepers and keeping all the repairs up to date will keep the hotel's solid reputation. The door also looked like it was kicked or punched and the bathroom had cracks everywhere - the shower floor is a bit odd becasue when you shower the water spills outside instead of flowing down and out plumbing. Breakfast was good, the usual english breakfast options. All in all was an average stay but proximity to town centre is good. That's all.

Location was good. Very grand hotel but needs alot of repairs and updates. Staff are lovely.

Enjoyed my stay at the Grand. Good value for money, only disappointment was having a room below the Grand Hotel, very stuffy without a fan..

Very dated hotel. Room was down a dark service corridor that was full of laundry baskets and staff areas. The room felt like it was a converted store room. Great location for the beach and town but parking close by is very difficult

An excellent hotel for the money. Our room (315) was clean and fresh. They don't give out extra pillows though. There are some lovely views of South Bay. Parking is easier with a phone parking app. There are bus stops over the road. WARNING! The bar closes at 11pm!

The corridors were dirty and had a nasty feeling about them. The lift wasn't working although when I spoke to a member of staff, who was rude said it was and to take the sign off . The shower made a right mess when I was adjusting the temperature to get in. The bath was very high and to get a shower I had to climb in which was not easy.

Heard a lot of people moan about this hotel. Our twin room was perfectly ok.. clean and tidy and comfortable. Great view of the Sea. Only issue is a bit tricky to overcome….worst night’s sleep ever.. the hotel is over-run with Seagulls that make a serious racket..24hours a day making it almost impossible to sleep. Maybe bring some earplugs… or a shotgun !!! Also really annoying was the price that all the hotels in Scarborough were charging just because there was a big show in town. They all almost doubled their prices… sheer greed.

Poor room ever! we get there a bit early so we can't check-in at the moment so we asked to leave our suitcases there for a few hours but the staff said no because we are not in a tourist group. the light it seems broken after we turn-off (we slept with this green light as the picture all night) this floor is -3, bad air, the room has a musty smell. ghosts are around. and the most thing i can't accept it' s the bathroom they did't clean it i saw poo in the toilet i wanted to throwup, very disgusting! sorry for the bad review but I'm telling the truth.

Tired hotel & full of immigrants living there. Needs alot of money spending on it to bring it back to its form of glory.
