We were guests of the hotel on the last opening weekend before the winter closure. The cuisine is very good, both for dinner and for the breakfast buffet. The gem is the relaxation area overlooking the valley, including the massage rooms with panoramic windows.

It's the second time we've returned, and based on our experience the hotel is worth it! The wellness area is original and perhaps unobtainable in its characteristic Alpine style. (it's not modern...but that's why I liked it). The food is very good, the staff are professional and friendly. Excellent dinner, good breakfast, very varied afternoon snack, both savory and sweet. Our room is in Tyrolean style, and I was really looking for a hotel that didn't have cold furnishings. My balcony overlooks the valley and the view is wonderful. spacious bedroom and bathroom. I have read negative reviews: you need to inform yourself before leaving... the saunas in South Tyrol are for nudists and not for children.

This is the fifth time we have stayed at the "Verdinser Hof" and we always feel at home here and would love to come back again. The hotel rooms with a view of the valley offer a magnificent view over the Merano Valley and the Vinschgau. The hotel is also at a pleasant altitude of around 700 metres, so it is pleasant to stay there even on very hot summer days. You also get to enjoy the evening sun for much longer in the evenings than in hotels at lower altitudes... The staff are always very friendly and try to fulfil all requests as quickly as possible - you really can't expect more when there is 100% occupancy. We love the charm that this somewhat older hotel still exudes - but if you want to go to a glass palace with a sterile atmosphere and lights in the cupboards when you open the cupboard doors (and similar expensive but probably only partially necessary extras), this is definitely not the right place for you. You can enjoy the atmosphere so much if you just let yourself go... A very special thank you to the perfect head chef Mr Schmitt - daily changing, incredibly tasty dishes, prepared with love and also a feast for the eyes - that's exactly what's on the agenda here!

Unfortunately, I have to agree with one of the previous reviews in various aspects. In a 4-star hotel, you should be welcomed in a different way than just being given the key. Wait! There was a short description of the location of the room. Oh well. The house is spectacularly situated on a mountainside with a view of the entire valley as far as Merano. Really great!! The problem, in my opinion, is that this is exactly what people are resting on. At first glance, everything is great. On closer inspection, however, you get more and more the impression that the management is just letting things go. And this has obviously been the case for some time. Almost everything here is in need of renovation. Not dirty. Just - let's say: worn out. Nothing has been updated for a long time. The actual spa area - which was a decisive factor for us - relevant to the booking, the sauna village, is, to put it mildly, unfortunately not what the brochure promises. On the contrary. Nothing is done, or only the bare minimum is done. As a result, floorboards slowly rot and push through. The screws then stick out. It's not a question of if, but when a guest's foot will get caught on them... At the pool I overheard a conversation between two other guests, one of whom had been there a few years ago. He confirmed that it was the same back then. It's such a shame. If this sauna village had been brought up to scratch with a bit of enthusiasm and craftsmanship, the saunas sealed and all opened - and not one of them closed for years - and the railings renewed so that you don't have to worry about falling through if you hold on to them, it would be a straight A in terms of hotel spa areas. Would have. Could have. Would have. All subjunctives. A shame. A real shame. Against this background, the fact that the guests who booked the most expensive room were looked after in great detail by the same receptionist, accompanied to their room and shown around the hotel, almost takes a back seat. Almost. Oh well. We had just booked the cheapest room. I can't say anything about the evening meal. We only had breakfast...which was absolutely fine!! Not to be forgotten, and to end on a positive note, is the senior manager. He is always there and is friendly, competent and humorous in answering questions about the area, tours, etc.

The hotel presents itself very well, has many services and is quite well looked after. The outdoor swimming pool is freezing and unusable. Everyone uses the internal one which is therefore noisy and dirty. Given the influx of Germans, they should separate the sauna areas dressed and in costume. Especially because there are children. Our room was really nice with a living and sleeping area, with a balcony to see the stars. Too bad for the neighbors. On the right an elderly gentleman who slept with the window open and snored loudly every night. On the other side a couple, who argued very heatedly on the terrace every evening. Several guests asked for silence but were ignored. Finally, the bell tower! From 6 am for every 15 minutes, the bells will ring. If you want to take a holiday to rest and sleep a little more, this is not the hotel for you. Finally, breakfast, sweet and savory, or rather… savory and with 2 burnt miniature croissants. **** After an excursion we returned to our rooms around 4.30pm to rest. I woke up to a strange noise: there was a waiter in my room. He wasn't able to explain to me what he was doing in Italian and left. Are we sure about the 4 star superior? A beautiful view and a spa are not enough!More

Impeccable structure in every service. Staff at reception available to fulfill every request. In the restaurant, kindness, courtesy and respect for the customer comes first. Equipped spa, snack with excellent desserts and breathtaking views from the terrace and rooms. The cuisine is excellent. Finally a hotel that exceeded my expectations. I didn't find a single flaw. I will be back very soon.

Wir waren zum dritten Mal im Verdinserhof. Ausgezeichnete Küche, variantenreiche Menüs. Die Zimmer mit Balkon und toller Sicht auf Meran. Schöner Pool und Liegewiese vor dem Hotel. Tolles, familiengeführtes Hotel mit sehr aufmerksamem Personal. Wir kommen wieder!
