I had booked the Hotel for 2 nights. On 2nd August 2024, after I had checked in, I was shown to my room. I had just finished unpacking everything when I was informed that I had been given the wrong room and would need to move, as a Customer was due to arrive soon to occupy it, that was inconvenient to say the least and when I explained that I had eaten the complimentary cake, I was then told, 'Not a problem, I'll take the one from the room you are moving to. That 'penny pinching' comment annoyed me more than moving, surely It wouldn't have caused too much expense to leave it in my 'new' room. The next day I attended a Wedding and when I returned, the dirty towels which I had placed on the floor for replacement where still there, leaving only a use Bath Mat and one clean Towel also the empty milk container in the fridge had not been refilled and the cups were not washed. As it was late in the evening and no one was present, I had no wish to try and contact someone by phone. Why should I if the Management could not do a proper job in the first place. I wrote to the Hotel on 5th August 2024. They have not replied nearly three weeks later. Considering the 2022-2023 Award, given to the Hotel for 'Best B&B East Of England', I feel that they are not worthy of it. James Freebury
