I asked for a disabled room one with a shower no bath as my partner is disabled due to sight impairment We were given a room one 1st floor to get to the first floor level we had to climb 12 Stairs not very good as partner is partially sighted

We often come to the Inn for a pint when in Seahouses, and the menu looked enticing, so we booked supper. The food, both starters and mains, came out together and much more quickly than expected. (Premade?) My "spiced venison kofta" had no spices and came served like a brick. I gave up eating it. Poor deer. My husband's main was better, but he returned his undercooked starter and was a bit worried he'd be sick from what he had eaten. To be fair, the wait staff were very nice, but didn't seem at all surprised. We paid for gastropub and got 'spoons food.

We had a wonderful stay at the Bamburgh Castle Inn. Our garden room was very comfortable, and the added toiletries were a great touch. The enclosed garden was ideal for our dog, and it was lovely having a patio to sit out with a cuppa. Breakfast was a bright spot each morning — a well-stocked buffet with everything you’d expect, from a full English to pastries, fresh fruit salad, and yogurt. We also had dinner; there was a queue to order, but it moved quickly and service was friendly. My husband’s gammon was lovely. The only disappointment was the mussels — they were tiny, overcooked, and many were broken, so I ended up with shell in nearly every bite. Aside from that, we really enjoyed our stay and would happily return for the comfortable rooms, dog-friendly setup, and fantastic location.

Myself, husband and 13 year old son came here for 1 night. The staff were not very inviting at all, I asked where the ladies toilets were and the staff member looked annoyed at me and spoke to me as if it was an imposition . When I ordered food and beverages, the staff didn't seem to want to serve anyone. At first , my husband thought I was being sensitive until he had the same ordeal. Considering it cost £189 for Bed and Breakfast, I definitely would have expected more... we then waited 10 minutes to hand in our key the next morning, no bell on the desk to alert staff that customers are waiting. No sense of urgency. certainly won't be back...

This is a well situated hotel at the harbour in Seahouses. Our room had a lovely view looking over to the Farne Islands. It was a nice place to spend a bit of time gazing out of the window. They could improve things. Chairs in the room were uncomfortable. The restaurant needs a kick. Warm plates for hot food would be a start and some effort with evening meals is needed. Venison kofta was fairly tasteless and the meat pie dish a disappointment. Staff were attentive and efficient.

Booked a Seaview room with balcony, definitely worth the extra cost, hotel/ inn/ staff lovely, good menu, food selection, good ale, beer selection, I like the inn collection marketing, downloaded the app,get perks such as sides, free drink, free coffee, points earned every time you buy something, hotel car park is small but we managed to park there with a big car apart from one night, there is a car park across the road if no room in hotel car park, staff in hotel very friendly and helpful with using the app when ordering at the bar

Stayed for two nights on the Winter Break package, two nights dinner, bed and breakfast both nights, in a premier balcony room with amazing sea view over the harbour and Farne Isles. We were a little concerned having read some less positive reviews but we were absolutely delighted with the hotel, the room and the staff who were all very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. I think it must be worth upgrading to a premier room if the budget allows as I can honestly say our room was one of the nicest we’ve stayed in for quite a while ( and we go away a lot ) The bed was comfy and large, the furnishings attractive and modern and the bathroom was lovely. With the package ( £358 for two ) we both had a two course meal included on both nights and the food was excellent, smoked haddock chowder, king prawns in garlic and chilli, peppercorn chicken very fresh fish and chips being standouts. The only problem for the hotel is the limited parking ( as they are literally on the harbour there is no way to expand) . We were lucky first night and got the last spot, but had to park in the large public car park literally right opposite the hotel on the second night. The first hour is free and parking is free after 6pm till 8am next morning, so park at 5pm for free then go back and buy two hour ticket which will rollover until 10 am next day so you don’t have to get up before breakfast to buy a ticket, £5.50. Or pay £10.50 for 24 hours parking. Parking aside, which affects most town centre hotels, we had a fantastic stay in a beautiful area with so much to see and do or just sit on your balcony watching the harbour traffic. Ideal

Review: The Bamburgh Castle Inn – Seahouses My wife and I stayed for one night on 6th March 2026 (we had originally planned to stay for two). The location is fantastic, with beautiful sea views, although the parking area is quite limited. Check-in was mostly smooth, aside from some confusion over whether I had already paid when booking online. I had received an email that suggested payment had been taken, but it turned out it hadn’t. Once that was sorted, the process was straightforward. We had completed most of the check-in online beforehand and simply confirmed everything at reception. The staff were very attentive and friendly. We booked a room with a sea view and access to the rear garden for our 4-month-old puppy, Monty. The room itself was very good – clean, fresh, and comfortable with no complaints at all. One slightly amusing moment was that the staff uniforms matched what I was wearing almost exactly, and for a moment I felt like I should have been helping out behind the bar! Unfortunately, the biggest let-down of the stay was the food. For dinner we both ordered the Steak & Ale pie – one with chips and one with mash. The meals arrived within about 15 minutes of ordering. Sadly, the pies were extremely overcooked and rock hard. In fact, I’ve had missiles thrown at me in Belfast in 1980 that were softer. There was very little meat inside, and both my wife and I ended up leaving almost full plates. No one came over to ask if everything was okay. At £17.95 per meal, it felt overpriced for the quality we received. Breakfast the next morning look very tasty however was another disappointment. I always look forward to a good full English, but unfortunately this one was barely lukewarm. The toast was actually the hottest thing on the plate – mainly because my wife had toasted it herself. The beans were cold, the egg was cold, the mushrooms were inedible, and the fried tomatoes were cold, dry, and looked unpleasant. When checking out and settling the bill, the receptionist asked the usual question: “Was everything okay?” I had the choice of simply saying “fine” or being honest. She said she preferred the truth, so I explained exactly what had happened. Her response was that the Steak & Ale pies are made fresh to order. Given that the meal arrived in 15 minutes, that would require the chef to defy the laws of physics to prepare a pie with chips, vegetables, and gravy in that time. The more likely explanation is that it had been pre-prepared earlier and reheated. The receptionist did apologise, which I accepted politely, but I did explain that a more meaningful apology would have been to refund the meal or at least offer a partial refund. Overall conclusion: The hotel itself is very good – great location, friendly staff, and clean, comfortable rooms. Unfortunately, the food does not match the standard of the rest of the establishment and really needs to improve.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay and must say it was a very enjoyable stay the rooms were really comfortable. Restaurant with its views would definitely recommend if in the Seahouses area
