We checked in at around 730pm in the evening. The check-in was smooth. After dinner and returning to hotel, we found the toilet bowl was blocked. Front desk was called but i was just being asked to go down to the lobby and take the plunger and do the unblock myself. The reason was there is no other stuff working in the hotel in the evening and night time except a single person at the front desk. But the front desk lady clearly told me that she will not help. The only assistance she can offer is the plunger and gloves. We asked for room exchange but was told she cannot do so as we were booked with 3rd party travel agent (at Trip.com).
Other that the above poor assistance from the hotel staff, the overall experience was fine. Breakfast was good.

The hotel is under construction. Everything is loud. Nearby trains blow their horns in the middle of the night. The Ice machine and AC units both sounded like a plane taking flight. The area was on the edge of sketchy. The positive was the host was super friendly. The room was clean and comfortable outside of the noise.

Its a clean and comfortable hotel close to the beach and fabulous downtown restaurants. The free breakfast is good with plenty of options. The staff is friendly and helpful. It's a great deal for the price. We've been going to it for years. It's nice.

They canceled our reservation at 1 because the card was declined. They didn’t tell us they would run it that early luckily they still had rooms!! The key cards don’t work the greatest. The breakfast wasn’t great. Cinnamon rolls cold and came down 10 min til closing and no cinnamon rolls were out.

The beds were large and clean. The front desk gals were so sweet and nice! I enjoyed my stay. I wasn’t very happy about the bathroom, it was a tad small and the water got out on the sides and soaked the floor. I made sure to seal the curtain around the tub the second time. With kids they don’t do a great job at that but it was okay. I’m not a fan of any hotel shower heads, I just wish hotels would just have a simple one! One setting it’s really wide and is like needles another setting is center (hard spray) and one more with beating you up. I’ve always wanted to bring my own and install it while I’m there . Probably shouldn’t do that. Other than that I will come back and loved that it was so close to all of the shops.

I enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn Express. I will return. Our room was awesome. Everyone was great! I will tell family and friends about the hotel It was clean and nice. The breakfast was fresh and good. The kids loved the pool. The outside sitting area was really nice.
