I was blown away when I arrived at the parking lot, because you are litterally in front of a huge castle. Then you'll have to walk I to the castle to access to the hotel. It's a nice medieval castle experience. Hotel is clean and very well located. Totally recommend.

Why wouldn't you want to stay in a castle!?
It's a hotel. In a castle. It's brilliant.
We extended our journey so that we could get to spend the night in a castle. Pleased with our decision. Staff were great - they put up with my Franglais and we managed to communicate fine.
Food - excellent. REALLY good kitchen, and we enjoyed a well priced, high quality evening meal. Breakfast was great too.
Then did a tour around the castle, which has nearly 1000 years of history. There was not much else to do in Sedan, otherwise it would have been 5*.
But it's a hotel. IN a castle. It's got to be done.

Comfortable hotel
The hotel was as advertised and the room was very comfortable There is clearly a shortage of staff but those we dealt with were very friendly The only issue we had was with the meal in the evening.

Cet hôtel ne correspond pas à un 4 étoiles. Literie de qualité moyenne, pas de mini bar, coffre-fort défectueux, mobilier très simple et ancien, carrelage très mal posé et ancien autour de la vasque. L’hôtel a besoin de rénovation. Les points positifs : le site du château est très joli et certains membres du personnel sont à votre écoute.

Der er forskel på 4-stjernet hoteller i Frankrig
Må bare konstatere, at der er forskel på 4-stjernede hoteller i Frankrig! Kom fra det mest fantastiske hotel i Reims, og havde store forventninger til Hotel Le Château Fort.
Hotellet minder mest af alt om et pop-up hotel. Personalet i receptionen var meget venlige. Det er personalet i hotellets restaurant også, men maden er ikke noget at skrive hjem om - meget stor skuffelse.
Hvordan søren de har fået 4 stjerner er en gåde, men som et andet hotel sagde "en gang imellem er en elevator nok".
Deres 4 stjerner må være på grund af borgen, som er et besøg værd.

2 Star Experience, 5 Star building.
Very disappointing.
5 Star building, 2 star experience.
Wonderful location in the Chateau Sedan, but a terrible meal and issues with the cleanliness and condition of the room.
Meal, 5 course "Le Menu Decouverte". The Tartare was poorly prepared and almost frozen and without any seasoning.
Pork Picanha was completely inedible. Looked like it had been left in the sous vide bag.
I gave up at that point as the kitchen clearly wasn't able to present edible food that evening. I could see other diners having issues too.
Raised the issues with the waitress, but nothing was done.
The two worst plates of food anyone has put in front of me for years.
Communal areas are beautiful but the room had peeling paint, black mold in the bathroom, the extractor fans didn't work nor did the safe because batteries had been left in it for years and corroded.
The Fort walls may be a metre thick, but those between the bedrooms are so thin my bed moved when the guest next door got into their bed.
Parking was only available from 6pm onwards, there were no spaces in the communal parking outside of the Fort.
2 stars because the check in experience and communal areas were good.
All the above issues were raised with staff and they were uninterested.
