Our last day in Sri Lanka and we thought it would be a waste of precious time to stay in a hotel all day !! Absolutely not ! From our welcome, attentive and informative staff, Kapila was particularly brilliant as he helped navigate through a superior menu which included the best Cerviche we've ever eaten, so again at lunch it was ! A wonderful Spa experience followed by a stroll round the gardens, up through the veggie garden and met the three long eared goats Garden and interior design, plus interesting artwork, was a visual delight. I booked this hotel because the airport was near, and I checked in at midnight. The boss was very enthusiastic. The waiter was sweaty and took 2 towels from a pile of towels for us. In the dim light of the room, we found that the sheets and towels were dirty, and we slept without taking off our clothes. The room is very big, the bathroom door cannot be locked, it leads to another door, it is a bit broken, others can come in our bathroom from the outside! Before 5 o'clock in the morning to catch the plane, we two girls each moved more than 30 kilograms of luggage from the top floor in the dark. We woke up the staff when we couldn’t get a taxi. It turned out that we had already called a taxi for us yesterday. We were shocked when we saw a tuk-tuk with three wheels, and the price doubled. We didn’t want to because we couldn’t fit our luggage and safety reasons. After the ride, the driver left angrily and said: You are rich, but our country is poor. We were very uncomfortable. The hotel's mistake did not inform us of the price and the price of the taxi, which caused the driver to misunderstand. After that, the hotel has been unable to help me call a car or arrange a car to go to the airport. When the plane is about to be delayed, we finally found a car on the side of the dark road, which is a blessing in misfortune. It is recommended not to stay in an informal hotel if the flight is early, in case the travel cannot be guaranteed, it will be very troublesome.

I stayed one night before I flew out from Sri Lanka. The room was clean and had good air con. Wifi was strong. I had dinner and breakfast at the hotel. The price of my meals and beer was very good and the food tasty. I was well looked after and had a good chat about cricket and Shane Warne. For a very small fee i was able to organise late check out (8.00 pm) The drop-off at the airport was included in the price of the stay. This place was excellent value for money.

Хозяин отеля - чудесный человек. Он помогал нам со всем, с чем бы мы к нему ни обратились! Где нам поменять деньги? Он поменял (и по выгодному курсу!). Где нам арендовать мопед? И с этим помог. Организовал трансфер до аэропорта на тук-туке. Очень приятная зеленая территория. Хороший вкусный завтрак (рисовая каша, фрукты, омлет, тосты с маслом и джемом, чай). Современный номер со всем необходимым. Будем еще раз на Шри-Ланке - обязательно вернемся к такому гостеприимному человеку!

Very good hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel grounds and the rooms were very well maintained. The food in the restaurant was excellent and reasonably priced (lunch and dinner). The free transfer was excellent, journey time about 15 minutes. I will definitely come back. Thank you to the friendly staff.

We had an amazing holiday in this beautiful resort. Staff were so helpful and friendly. Room was well equipped and comfortable with all the amenities. Nice sea view rooms. This is the best place in negambo if you search a relaxing holiday. Pool and surroundings are amazing. Restaurant staff were friendly and always with a smile. Special thank to chathuranga. This was my third stay at the Goldi Sands, honestly, the last time was nearly 20 years ago but I had such a great time back then I had high expectations. In the intervening 20 years, the hotel has had a revamp, double the size, double the number of swimming pools, added an elevator and they've removed the beach-fronted bungalows. All of which I think was a smart move and well worth doing. What has changed is the service and the catering. The staff are of course all very polite just that they didn't go the extra mile like they used to. We arrived late as our flight had been delayed, all I wanted was a couple of bottles of beer, they did arrive but I almost had to beg. I booked a taxi to the airport with the front desk, but they forgot, the waitresses at dinner were all about the hard upsell rather than serving. The breakfast as far as my memory serves me used to be awesome, today's breakfast is the same every day and lacks imagination, is poorly presented, and includes the worst coffee ever. The hotel has a confusing number of tariffs from all-inclusive to room only which means if you want to buy a drink it takes forever as they have to check your ”status” and then if you pay cash they have to go to the cashier as they carry no float. The rooms are a good size, clean and comfortable but basic. All in all it is still a good hotel to choose but sadly it is no longer in the memorable category.

Clingy dogs, friendly Sri Lankans, delicious seafood, and we were automatically upgraded to a room type. However, some waiters have the bad habit of asking for tips, so it is recommended to carry the suitcase yourself. Jetwing Sea is more affordable than Beach Blue, and is slightly one kilometer further than the bustling neighborhood.
