Hotel was nice and the staff are very friendly. Found me a fan when the room got too hot. The shower could have been better the shower head was leaking from multiple places but overall the room was lovely and the food was amazing too. The takeaway breakfast really helped when I had to leave early in the morning.

We stayed in the cottages in the back, they were great! We appreciated the extra beds for our teens - a great place for a family!

Had a fantastic stay at the Philipburn Hotel in the Scottish borders region. The staff were incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home as several of us visited the area as part of an annual road trip that we undertake. There was ample safe and secure car parking on site to accommodate the group. The evening meal was absolutely delicious, and the breakfast was the perfect way to start our day. Would highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the area!"

Had 3 nights at the Philipburn and can recommend the accommodation and the service. The room was comfortable and clean with everything we needed. The hotel itself was well decorated and in a lovely position. Many thanks to all the staff and management who made our stay so enjoyable. Visit the Lochcarron Woollen Mill just on the left in the industrial estate over the bridge into Selkirk. The Halliwell's House Museum is also not to be missed with the car park next to it free.

Very comfortable, very helpful, friendly staff and food great value for money. My wife and I stopped for an overnight stay on the way home from a holiday in England. The hotel had an EV charger, which was the main reason for choosing it. However, the general great value for money, combined with the very hospitable manner of all the staff (including the owner) means that we'll certainly use it again for breaks in the Borders area. The food was great value for money - generous portions, fresh produce that was cooked fresh on the premises and well presented. The Italian red D'Avola house wine was probably the best house wine I've tried in any hotel. Only the cost of charging the EV stopped me from offering the hotel 5 stars (twice the cost of a TESLA device) - I'm sure this is due to the high costs of installation and maintenance for just 1 device but I hope that the hotel can negotiate a cheaper deal with the supplier.

We recently celebrated our wedding at the Philipburn Hotel, on 7th September. Adrian, Graham and Lesley certainly went above and beyond on the day to make it a great experience for all who attended. The wedding ceremony took place in the gardens of the hotel, followed by the reception in the Linglie Suite. The wedding meal was absolutely amazing, with all guests commenting on how good the meal was. The whole day was perfect. We could not have asked for better and cannot thank them enough. Our only issues we encountered was the run up to the wedding when we were informed that we needed to find a hairdresser and a photographer which was part of the package. This was a stressful situation for us both as we had paid for an all inclusive wedding and did not expect to be involved in doing their job for them and getting involved in this way. However, it wasn’t something that couldn’t be resolved and went smoothly in the end. A big thank you to Hetties of Melrose for stepping in at the last moment and a huge thank you to Ali Graham for being such an amazing photographer, both hairdresser and photographer went above and beyond what we asked for.

The event was a friends wedding, the location the Philipburn Hotel Selkirk, the result was an amazing weekend. Arrived on Friday night to have an impromptu hen party the night before the wedding (10 people). Adrian, Graham and Leslie gave us space to enjoy ourselves whilst ensuring minimal impact on other non wedding guests, in other words enjoy yourselves but keep the noise down! Wedding day arrived and the whole event was delightful, well organised and huge fun. When we were starting to run out of steam later on, Leslie and the guys helped to liven things up and the dancing continued. The hotel is very comfortable, the food was great but most of all we enjoyed the company of the staff who were charming. We now have a reason to visit Selkirk and would not hesitate to stay at the Philipburn, just need to find even louder, brighter shirts and trousers to take with us!

Good hotel.Great breakfast lovely rooms/chalets. If you like peace and tranquil then this is the place for you! I don’t usually leave reviews for big hotel chains as they tend to be very uncaring but this is a family run hotel and the owners work very hard to make sure the stay is effortless and comfortable. We will be back in December . Thanks guys!
