My flight landed a little late, and then my bank put a hold on my card because it decided Malaysia was ”unusual activity”. So, no money for a taxi, stuck in a place where I had no phone service, and the booking app takes up to 12 hours to contact the hotel, I didn't know what to do. Luckily, a gentleman at one of the currency exchange kiosks took his breaktime to help call the hotel, and they sent a vehicle to get me. (I later found out it was the manager's wife). They got me quickly checked in after a long day, and recommended a nearby restaurant who was having a grand reopening (free meal).

The location of the hotel which is close to KLIA is an added advantage. It is also situated in a quiet neighbourhood thus providing a peaceful stay. The water heater in the room is a mini scale which may surprise guests but workable.

We stay at this hotel for a night transit. We took grab, cost RM25 and it was less than 15min driving. The room is big and clean. Aircon worked well. Got hot shower but the water pressure wasnt high but not a big problem. No amenities except soap. The put the towel hanger so high which I dont understand why. But for a room less than RM 150 for 3 persons where we got 2 king size beds inside, it was more than ok. Will consider this hotel again when I need to transit overnight. Almost forgot.. neighbours are full with eating places and easy to get taxi too even at 6am.

It is quite far from the Airport. With online taxi about 1 (one way). Near the hotel there is a restaurant open from 7am to night. Hotel rocco where rooms have no windows. One large bed (can accommodate 2 people), shower room, liquid soap available. No pasta/toothbrush. Clean white towels. There are 2 small bottles of mineral water. flat TV. Just for sleeping and shower ok.

Firstly, a caveat: I stayed at Sama Sama during Covid closures (late Feb 2022) so my experience may be different from ”the norm”. I found the hotel to be very comfortable and very quiet (though the entire airport was very quiet at the time), with a comfy bed, hot shower and good internet service. The room was exceptionally clean, though the decor and furnishings are a little outdated (lots of cream & brown), albeit in good condition. The staff were very efficient and friendly. My 24 hour overnight transit stay cost USD180 and included two meals at the buffet. I didn't eat at the buffet because I found the food choice to be very limited and what was offered didn't appeal to me; the room service menu was more appealing so I used that instead or went to the sole operating cafe in the airport. The only reasons I have not given the Sama Sama a 5-star ”excellent” rating was the limited buffet selection and the outdated decor. If the option was there, I would give it 4.5 stars.

The room is very clean and we can feel that the bed sheet is new. Location is walking distance to shops and restaurants. Will repeat this hotel again if I want to transit to KLIA The only cons is we cannot find the hotel name at Google Maps. But the staff is excellent, she whatsapp me first and send the location

Hotel Sg Pelek was a pleasant surprise! The staff was friendly, and the room had a beautiful view. Though the decor was a bit dated, the cleanliness made up for it. The nearby restaurant served tasty meals, and I enjoyed my short visit exploring the area. Overall, a charming getaway.
