We recently stayed here for 2 nights. It was late in the season, so many of the animals had migrated, but this gave us the ability to relax for 2 days from a very busy 3 country whirlwind tour. Initially this place seemed a bit dated compared to the other places we had stayed, but I quickly realized the nuanced charm of what would be an original tented camp. From the British styled influnce in furniture, the old photos of safari hunts, to the silver flatware and china placesettings to the fine dining service itself. The food was beyond expecation, as was the service. I will never forget the piece of Nile perch I had for lunch, in fact, it was the best fish I have ever had in my life. The morning coffee brought to the tent with heated milk was lovely. I took time for a massage and OH MY GOODNESS, it was the best massage I have had , hands down, so much so, all of the girls in my group signed up for one and agreed, Mwjuma, was outstanding. Victor our server was lovely and his smile and singing voice radiated. The only reason I gave this gem a 4 is that it could use just a few updates to compete with the newer splashier places, but if you can see beyond that, this really is a spectacular place and a day at the pool and spa will leave you feeling pampered and happy.
