I recently had the pleasure of staying at the exquisite Grand Hotel Villa Balbi in Sestri Levante. It was an experience I will never forget. From the moment I arrived, I was blown away by the stunning location and unparalleled hospitality this luxurious hotel offered.
The hotel is in a magnificent historical villa, surrounded by lush gardens and overlooking the spectacular Ligurian Sea. The breathtaking views of the sea and the picturesque town of Sestri Levante made my stay even more memorable.

We had another great stay at the Mediterraneo this summer, probably the 4th time we are going back. As always service and friendliness of staff and management exceeded our expectations, a very warm welcome and eagerness to accommodate our needs. Great surprise for the newly refurbished room we stayed in and the swimming pool area, it was more that comfortable and relaxing stay. Breakfast room with stunning views, the offering could use a bit of an upgrade though. Ideal stay, to explore the surrounding area of Sestri, Cavi and Lavagna, or even head out to Cinque Terre if you rent a car - as the car park is massive and offered for free. What a great place and great value for money, we will definitely go back soon!

The room was super nice! You can directly see the sea, and it is also close to the market, so it is very convenient to go anywhere. There are not many tourists in this small town, not as many as Genoa, very comfortable and peaceful, very, very recommended!

Modern hotel in Santa Margherita Ligure, the Best Western Hotel Regina Elena is located on the lovely sea road leading to Portofino, with charming panoramic view. The garden leads directly to the nice private beach, with restaurant and bar. This property is open all year round and has a large covered private parking at a nominal fee. Solarium on the roof top (open from May to October), with heated swimming pool and Jacuzzi, to ejoy the wonderful view while relaxing under the warm Ligurian sun. Comfortable rooms, most of them with balcony and sea view. Enjoy your stay.

The staff were all fantastic and very helpful at dealing with our requests, helping us book taxis etc. The room was clean and pleasant with a nice bathroom and shower, the continental breakfast buffet was great and the views from the pool were great. The booking system for the pool meant you had a guaranteed slot but could only use it once a day. It is a shame that it costs so much money to use the beach, particularly paying $50 for two sunbeds when there's only one of you. I would happily stay again if you could use the private beach for free as a guest.

******DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Words can’t describe the experience we had here. I’ve travelled extensively and honestly NEVER ENCOUNTERED AN EXPERIENCE LIKE THIS. We were given an ATTIC ROOM WITH NO WINDOWS, a slanted roof that did not fit my 6 foot height and the entrance to which required a precarious walk along an unfinished walkway outside. None of this was disclosed when we booked this. They consider this a normal room in this hotel, it was not a discounted room, WE BELIEVED WE WERE BOOKING A NORMAL ROOM. The room alternated between sweltering hot due to it being the attic and freezing due to the AC blasting cold air into a tiny tiny room. When we checked in, we initially raised our concern with the front desk clerk and she apologized and assured us that they could move us rooms the following morning. The next morning, we came down to change rooms and were COMPLETELY GASLIGHTED BY THE STAFF. They first refused to change rooms, then they pivoted and wanted to shift us into a new room each morning so that we would have moved each day of our three night stay. All of these options, they insisted were going to cost us almost double the already OVERPRICED COST we had already paid through Booking. ThIS WAS NOT THE CRAZIEST PART. THE CRAZIEST PART was that the front desk clerk, Martino, kept saying that there was nothing he could do, that it was up to the manager. ALL THE WHILE, Andreoli, the manager, was sitting 5 feet behind him, refusing the speak to us. REFUSING! I kept asking if I could please speak with him directly, and he continued to refuse to talk with us, and Martino just kept saying that we should be interacting with him, but then claiming he, Martino, had no control, ‘because he is just a desk clerk.’ This was not a language issue, as I speak Italian and I heard Andreoli speaking perfect English. I have literally never encountering something like this in my life, where the manager is right there and refused to speak with us. IT WAS INCREDIBLY OFFENSIVE. When I raised the issue that the price they wanted to charge us for changing rooms was way over the standard price for the region, he said that Americans are wealthy and always willing to pay this cost because we earn so much more than Italians. If it were just a sub-par room, so be it. But I have never been treated this way while traveling, or been gaslighted in this way, Martino claiming that the desk clerk from last night who had offered us a room was wrong. Lastly, when we parked the car in their lot, they gave us a ride back to the hotel IN ANOTHER GUEST’S CAR! They lost our key in that car and now we are waiting for the hotel to take responsibility and get us our keys back. I REPEAT, DO NOT STAY HERE. We are still in a battle trying to get refunded from the rest of our stay, as after this crazy strange encounter and the way we were treated, WE DID NOT FEEL SAFE STAYING HERE.

GGuest UserWe stayed at Grande Albergo with our 11 month old son for 5 nights in July 2023. The beach town of Sestri Levante is truly a hidden gem and Grande Albergo was the perfect place to stay. The hotel’s location is ideal, just across from the beach and close to everything, including great restaurants. Rooms were very well-cleaned. But what really makes Grande Albergo great is its staff - everyone from the front desk, restaurant and beach staff to the cleaning staff went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. Our son got sick during our trip, and the front desk was very quick to help us get a doctor appointment. Further, on the day we had to leave for the airport, there was a 24-hour train strike across Italy, and again the staff was quick to arrange a driver for us. In addition to being very service-minded, the staff at Grande Albergo are all very kind and made us feel very welcome. Recommend to book beach chairs in advance, as the beach (for good reason) is very popular. We will definitely be back!

Solo grazie, a suo dire, del suo buon cuore, mi ha risolto la questione, altrimenti avrei dovuto fare un reclamo a Trip. com, per essere restato fuori dalla struttura. In pratica, Trip. com non conosce effettivamente lo stato reale dei posti disponibili.. Credo sia abbastanza grave recarsi in una struttura e non trovare la disponibilità pur avendo già pagato..
