I missed the 9:15 PM bullet train, so I rebooked for a 6:17 AM high-speed train the next morning. I quickly used the Trip.com app to find this serviced apartment near Hongqiao Railway Station. My friend and I rushed over in a taxi with our luggage to check in.
There's no room card, only a door password. They create an exclusive service group for guests, but you really need to pay attention to the reminders and messages in the group. There's a reminder on the desk, but it's not very noticeable.
Because we were in such a hurry, we took the elevator to the fifth floor. It was still quite hard to find; it was my first time staying in this type of serviced apartment in Shanghai, and the hallway was very long. When we opened the room, it was quite spacious, but there was peeling paint and water seepage near the bathroom wall. The lower window couldn't be closed properly, and my friend tried to shut it because it was very windy. After failing to close it, we lay down for a nap on the large bed on the first floor. After seeing the reminder on the tea table, we quickly got up and went to the second floor. We didn't shower; we just went to sleep because we had to get up at five the next morning.

I took a quick photo myself after entering the room at night and reminded customer service. They downplayed sending the wrong photo. A little awkward to find, and to get in touch with the check-in folks, but once that was managed, we had an excellent stay. Apartment was clean and spacious with all the amenities. When there was an issue with the washing machine not working, they took me to a vacant room to do my laundry in that washing machine. At the end, they even brought the clothes up to us without us having to retrieve them ourselves. A+ service! Thank you!

Stay at Zizaiju was the worst ever in China.
1. There was no reception when I checked in. And I couldn't make a local call so I needed to find someone to call.
2. There were not any kitchen tools in the kitchen. So I couldn't cook at all. Before I booked, I saw the pictures of full equipped but actually there was nothing for cooking with.
3. The lower part of the wall had peeling wallpaper and was full of mold. The electrical terminal box was open and the cables and router were lying on the floor.
4. There was a blackout at midnight. I was informed that was because they didn't pay the bill.
5. There was no water purifier nor fitness center. They said sorry for that and I could visit fitness center which is in another building, 300meters away from the apartment.
6. This was the worst one I can't believe it. I stayed 3 nights and I saw cockroaches 2 days in a row. I took pictures once because of the blackout in the other night.
I would strongly advise you against staying at Zizaiju. Do not stay at this apartment.
