Koreans traveling to Shanghai highly recommend this place!!
I stayed for 5 nights and 6 days in November (11/12-11/17) and was very satisfied with the location, price, and room condition overall.
Location - The nearest subway station is Tiantong Road Station.
It's one stop from Nanjing East Road Station and Line 10, so you can go straight to Yuyuan and Xintiandi without changing trains! You can walk to the Bund in about 10-20 minutes.
If you're planning to go to Hangzhou or Zhujiajiao, Hongqiao Train Station is also a good option! It's the best location for traveling around Shanghai.
Price - Since I was traveling alone, price was important to me, but it was cheap. If you find a hotel at the same price, the room is very small and there are no windowsㅠㅠ
Room condition - I'll attach a photo. First of all, the room is very spacious compared to other hotels at the same price! And it was nice to experience the inside of a Chinese house rather than staying at a hotel after coming all the way to Shanghai.
The room is very pretty... It looks like the bed is hanging in the air. The windows are big and I was assigned to a high floor, so there were no bugs.
However, the construction site nearby was a bit (very) noisy on weekday mornings. Please note this. And it seems that there is no separate cleaning service even if you stay for multiple nights.
Amenities - There is a small supermarket on the first floor of the building, which was also nice. The owner, the grandfather and grandmother, are very kind and nice. It feels like they are treating their granddaughter!
I would like to stay there again just because of these people. They are open until 11pm, so it was nice to come back after playing and buy a can of beer.
If you look around, there is a small restaurant area. The Japanese restaurant is open until 12am, and it was delicious.
Last but not least!
There is no separate lobby here, and after adding the operator as a WeChat friend and verifying my identity, they told me the room number and password. Haha
I didn't know and went there without thinking, but when I arrived in Shanghai, the operator called my number and we were able to add each other using our WeChat IDs.
There is a place called Orange Hotel right on the right side of the accommodation building, but it's not there!! (I was a little confused at first)
The operator speaks English. So if you are going, make sure to create a WeChat with your own number and go ㅎㅎ
+ The operator will tell you how to register your accommodation via QR, but you absolutely have to do that. Fill out the information well and a confirmation email will be sent to your email, so make sure to receive it.
This is not only for here, but for all tourists.
Lastly, if there is a tip, I recommend that you use the subway instead of taking a taxi when you get off at Pudong/Hongqiao Airport, especially if you are going alone.
In fact, unless you are going to a remote place, you can easily get to most places by subway. Shanghai's subway system is great!!
I went to Shanghai a long time ago after finishing my exchange program and had a great time. If you are going to visit, I highly recommend this accommodation~~!!
