A delightful experience. The hotel's guide, Voltaic, was engaging and professional. His explanations of the design philosophy and the sharing of thoughtful details were captivating, even for the children in our group. What's truly remarkable is how the world seems to quiet down the moment you turn from the bustling street into the hotel entrance. The hotel cleverly avoids the main road's noise, creating a peaceful sanctuary. At night, you drift off to sleep in this tranquility, waking up to birdsong and the scent of flowers in the morning, completely oblivious to the city's hustle and bustle. The hotel's beauty lies in its details. It doesn't have the opulent grandeur of traditional luxury hotels; at first glance, it might even seem a bit minimalist. Yet, once you settle in, you discover how the light subtly shifts everywhere. The focus isn't on accumulating symbols, but on allowing guests to find peace within the space. Voltaic's guided tour truly brought this spatial aesthetic to life, perfectly embodying the hotel's 'luxury is personal' philosophy. If you're looking to escape the everyday and immerse yourself in beauty, this is an excellent choice. A special thank you to Voltaic for their dedicated service. I hope they can collaborate with Comico in the future and support this 30-year-old national brand.

I specifically chose the tallest building in Shanghai for my birthday. The room was spacious and clean, but it felt a bit like a birdcage, so I wasn't overly impressed. For the price, I don't think it was great value. However, the service was warm and attentive, and they even sent a birthday cake. The Cantonese food here was quite good.

The hotel service was excellent, and the front desk manager, Mina, was especially welcoming and attentive. J Hotel Shanghai Tower has long transcended the definition of a mere hotel; it is the city's aerial reception hall, a new benchmark for luxury travel and accommodation. If you yearn to touch the pulse of Shanghai from among the clouds, this is the perfect starting point for your journey. Here, the city's hustle and bustle fade away beneath you, and a sea of clouds and starlight become your everyday view.

This stay at J Hotel's 90th-floor Xiangyun River View King Room was amazing. The window-side bathtub, paired with the panoramic floor-to-ceiling river view, created an incredibly atmospheric bathing and sightseeing experience. The reception staff on the 101st floor, a thoughtful gentleman from Shanghai, perfectly accommodated all my check-in requests. Upon arrival, I received a complimentary fresh fruit platter. The 101st-floor lobby bar offered a full selection of soft drinks, and the outdoor viewing area provided spectacular views. I even had a local Shanghai 'uncle' (guide) accompany me from the first floor up to the 103rd and 120th floors, offering detailed explanations of the sculpture artworks. The service throughout was impeccable. The high-altitude room was quiet and comfortable; both the facilities and the service were faultless. A perfect 'in the clouds' stay experience!

Needless to say, the location offers unparalleled views of the Bund river and its night scenery, being on the 90-something floor, the view is absolutely unbeatable! The room is also very spacious and comfortable. On top of that, the hotel breakfast is incredibly diverse!

Location: Excellent. Ambiance: The overall environment is great. Service: Needs improvement, especially the older chef at breakfast. Facilities: The overall facilities are good. The elevator transfers within the hotel are a bit inconvenient, but for a super high-rise, safety and privacy are definitely the most important, which is understandable. The indoor sofa is a bit old.

The room was nice, and the high-altitude view completely met our expectations. However, those are pretty much the only positives. The issues we encountered far outweighed any good points. 1: Upon arriving at the lobby, there were three staff members chatting and laughing. Not one offered any guidance; instead, they simply told us to go 'around this way' to take the elevator. From that point on, for nearly a day and a night, almost no staff member proactively greeted us. 2: The butler didn't reply to messages. They advertise a 24-hour butler service, but a WeChat message sent at 8 PM wasn't answered until 11:30 PM, at which point I was informed they were off duty. I wonder if even when off duty, the account couldn't be handed over to a colleague to reply? Or if truly off duty, they could at least message to say 'please call the front desk.' But J Hotel's butler chose to simply not reply. When I addressed them politely in every message, the butler just used 'you' (the informal Chinese 'ni'), which felt very condescending. Even after checking out, they completely stopped replying to messages. I had wanted to ask for the name of the manager we spoke with to commend them, but sadly, I received no response. 3: There were no welcome fruits even though the 'Do Not Disturb' sign was off all day. After actively requesting room cleaning, the takeaway bags left on the floor were not removed, and the bedding wasn't changed. Even more unbelievably, during turndown service, there was a fake eyelash left by a previous guest on the mat where our personal toiletries were placed. At 10 PM, after an exhausting discussion with the floor manager, I just wanted to wash up and rest. Unexpectedly, when I used a disposable toothbrush, bristles started falling out. This is a basic amenity issue that should never happen in any five-star hotel. By this point, I was utterly disappointed, all I wanted was to check out the next morning and leave this 'luxury' hotel that cost 4,000 yuan. 4: Breakfast was where I got the most direct experience of J's service. I was traveling with my girlfriend, and her cutlery was taken away when her plate was changed midway through. We were told, 'We'll get you new ones right away.' After waiting five minutes with no result, I waved to get a staff member's attention, but no one responded three times. The last time, a female staff member saw us but casually turned her head away. My girlfriend had to speak up and ask. This staff member just said 'Oh' and walked away, and for some unknown reason, never brought any cutlery. Both of us felt an unbearable sense of awkwardness, as if it were deliberate. By the time we finished eating, there was still only one set of cutlery on the table. 5: The only thing that could be called 'attentive' was when the manager came to negotiate and communicate at the end. This female manager occasionally interrupted to defend the hotel, but her overall attitude was sincere, and she apologized promptly. Unfortunately, after the resolution, the hotel transfer service she proactively offered was canceled because no vehicles were available at that time. It makes one wonder if a 4,000-yuan hotel is still worth it after so many unpleasant experiences. And being offered only an aromatherapy diffuser and a doll, items that cost the hotel almost nothing, just feels ridiculous. I also have one final question: If my girlfriend and I weren't two seemingly young students, but rather 'esteemed' foreign guests, or VIP customers of the Jinjiang brand, would we still have been treated so perfunctorily, with even the resolution left unknown? I want to know if J Hotel values ordinary guests, or if for J, the hotel's high altitude means its service attitude is equally high and mighty? If the warmth of hotel service cannot be conveyed to ordinary guests, then no matter how fancy the decor, it will fail to leave a lasting impression.
