Booked a room with a Bund view for New Year's Eve and our 3rd anniversary - as the team at Banyan Tree prepared our room for us, they served us a drink from the hotel dining and Cynthia was swift in her service towards us. Not long later, our room was ready and a celebratory New Year's Eve dessert platter was served to us in our room. Not only did Cynthia answer all our queries, she even provided us with the necessary help regarding our food deliveries! When the delivery arrived while she was asleep after a long and ardous day at work, she answered the call and notified me first hand that the delivery was completed. On top of that, Cynthia was extremely hospitable in inviting us to the hotel's New Year's Eve countdown celebrations with a drink at the Tops bar, located at the rooftop of Banyan Tree. The rooms were immaculately designed and maintained, with it being walking distance to a shopping mall and having a wonderful view of the Bund. Thank you Cynthia, for giving us such a magnificent stay at the Banyan Tree with your exemplary service and it is by far the most memorable hotel stay we have ever had! :D

My over all experience at the Sunrise On The Bund Hotel was good. Hotel management made sure they provided me with English speaking representatives to check in and to answer any questions. concierge was very helpful since I was not traveling about Shanghai with a tour guide concierge requested taxis for me when I was going out and they always wrote the addresses of the different places I was going in Chinese to give to cab drivers as I traveled throughout Shanghai. this made communicating with taxi drivers much easier. They also made sure I had the Hotels address written down on paper in Chinese as well. the breakfast was fresh and staff was friendly. I definitely would stay again.

Classic-styled hotel. Clean and spacious room. Some dust on some surface but acceptable, met chinese standard. Got upgraded to higher room type. Cleaning was done everyday. 4 bottle of water provided (family room for 3 people). Body soap and shampoo provided in very small bottle which was not quite enough but they were refilled everyday. King bed was larger than standard and very comfortable. Pillows were too soft, need to put 2 of them together. Shower and toilet area were too dark, not enough light. The refrigerator was not working. View was fantastic (17th floor). Sometimes cigarette smell came from air-condition. Breakfast was good, variety of food and changed everyday. Staffs can speak English and had very good service mind. Lots of shops and restaurants at Raffles city opposite of the Hotel. Metro station was only 7 mins walk. Overall was very good, met 4.5 star standard.

The floor drain is seriously flooded. When taking a shower, the hot and cold water alternated. After enjoying the five levels of ice and fire, I could only take a cold shower directly. After enjoying the five levels of ice and fire, I dragged my exhausted body to sleep. The harsh noise of the air conditioner made it difficult to fall asleep until 2 to 3 in the morning. I fell asleep because of sleepiness. Stepping into the guest room with a smart semi-open space design, the aromatherapy washing and care products, unloaded the tedious pressure, and felt the luxurious sleeping experience brought by the star quality. The pillowcase was broken and dirty. Others were okay. This was a very bad experience! ! ! Facilities: The floor drain was seriously flooded, and there were safety hazards at the clothes hanging area. Hygiene: Satisfied. Environment: Satisfied

Considering location, the price is very good and amenities are good, the staff are very helpful and approachable (reception to security to cleaning all warm and friendly) on the other hand having stayed at this Novotel for a few days and at others in the chain worldwide despite being clean it is starting to show it's age in the smaller details in the rooms a little and the amenities do leave room fo improvement. But the view from the terrace on the 5th floor is spot on

Bvlgari Unable to travel over the festive season, I decided to treat myself to a few days in a local hotel. What other choice was there, other than the Bvlgari? Prior to my arrival I received a call from the hotel. They confirmed my arrival time, made dinner reservations for me, added me to WeChat and offered me any other help that I required. Upon arrival I was greeted by Eva. She checked me in and immediately offered me a late check out time of 14:00. This was extended further on the final day to 16:00. Fantastic! More time to relax by the pool and in the sauna. Having checked me in, Eva gave me a tour of the property. The Bvlgari is stunning!From the stylish restoration of the Chamber of Commerce building to the sleek, modern interior of the main building. The Bvlgari is located in an excellent position by Suzhou Creek. It offers dazzling views of Lujiazui , the Huangpu River and the rear of The Bund. Perhaps one of the best views in the city. Of course, the room was magnificent. Huge TV, super comfortable bed, walk-in wardrobe and a wide selection of drinks and snacks, most of which were complimentary. I especially thought the pillow mist was a nice touch. In addition to the welcome snacks, Eva brought me a desert from their little cabin outside. A delicious Italian, vanilla donut- like desert. Good job I didn’t have lunch that day. I dined at both the Italian and Chinese restaurants. Both of which offer amazing food. The Italian presents simplistic fare with the emphasis on fresh ingredients. The vegetable broth and specialty bread is to die for. The Chinese restaurant offers high quality Cantonese food and an alternative wine selection to that in the main building. The sommelier suggested a great wine pairing for the meal and also provided a complimentary glass of champagne and a coffee liqueur before escorting back to the hotel. Le Mer products are used in the spa! Yes, this is fantastic. My therapist, Daisy, had me in the state of being between consciousness and unconsciousness many times during the course of my treatment. Just what I was looking for. The staff at the Bvlgari are excellent. Young, professional and obviously well trained, evident through their subject knowledge and warm hearted service. All the staff consistently addressed me by name and ensured that my stay was perfect. Whilst at the bar, one of the girls presumed I was asking for the bill, when actually I was asking for another drink. I left to visit the WC and returned to find a note apologizing for her misunderstanding of English accompanying a complimentary desert with my drink. That was amazing! Thank you, Elsker. It’s often the small things that make a difference. Whilst walking to my room one of the room attendants was vacuuming the carpet. She abruptly stopped and waited for me to pass. Whilst at the pool, I headed towards the jacuzzi. Some of the staff appeared to be fixing or checking something, but they swiftly disappeared as I emerged. Upon checkout, Eva was waiting for me with a gift bag containing chocolates. This was in addition to the luggage tags and toiletries that were gifted by the turn down service the previous night. Eva called me a car to take me home. Whilst I waited she filled my gift bag with sweets from the huge jars of confectionery in the lobby. As the doorman approached to let me know my car had arrived, he also presented a small gift of Bvlgari toiletry products. What an amazing experience.! Truly remarkable. I will definitely return and I’ll be adding locations in Paris, London, Bali and Milan to my list of places to visit. Thank you to the entire Bvlgari team. From those excellent customer facing members of staff to those who are behind the scenes and make things run so well. You all do a fantastic job and I wish you all the greatest success on the future. Really nice hotel. Great location and near a lot of attractions. I found value in staying here due to the convenience of near by attractions but I chose to eat outside of the hotel because the prices are high. The bar drinks were not good and made with very little alcohol and far too much ice. High price as well. There happened to be some famous actor staying at the hotel and security blocked access to a couple floors so I couldn't access the elevator to get to my room after check in so that was really annoying. Eventually I was able to get to the room and it was nice. Comfortable bed and nice bathroom. A bit small but nice none the less.

I’ve stayed at this hotel many times and probably will again, although I did report my room safe was broken a number of times and across a 5 night stay (I had 2 bookings and mentioned this problem in the review against the first booking as well) it was not fixed. It was an unusual blip in what is ordinarily a great experience at this hotel but I mention it as this amenity is very important to many travellers. I haven’t had this problem before - next time I will ask for a new room straight away. Hotel is very well priced for its location (near French concession area and the Bund), ordinary level of service, and while rooms aren’t super new/modern, they are generally well maintained and always clean.

Breakfast is good including local and continental options. Location is excellent. Close to all major attractions .lots of local restaurants, Family mart and Lawson nearby. Room size and daily house keeping is perfect. Laundry room available with washing machines and dryers and open for all. Front desk is very efficient, helpful and can speak English.

Very well-located hotel that is within minutes to 人民广场 station, with lots of food options nearby. It's also very near to the 南京路步行街 which leads towards 外滩. There is free washing machine and dryer for use. The hotel front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Special mention to 悠婷 and 李翠 who helped us with our taobao purchases!
